Awakening Elementary School System in University

After midnight tomorrow, this book will be going premium. This is a first for me in my life, and my feelings are a bit complicated—I’m both excited and nervous.

I don’t really know what I should write, so let’s just take this as an opportunity to have a good chat with all of you who have stuck with the story until now. (If you think I’m being long-winded, you can just scroll to the end to see the update schedule after the book goes premium.)

Speaking of which, the inspiration for writing this book came from a rather unpleasant work experience that began half a year ago.

At the time, a department head made me a bunch of empty promises and had me transferred to a new department.

It turned out that the position he had promised me didn’t even exist. I had to start from scratch with the new employees, going through basic training and doing the most rudimentary work.

To be honest, I hadn’t originally planned on quitting. I tried various ways to report the situation to upper management, hoping to be transferred back to my original post, but all my attempts failed. With no other options, I just gave up and started slacking off on the spot.

To make matters worse, one of the managers in the new department loved to pick fights. Finally, one day, I couldn’t take it anymore. I got into a huge argument with him and then made my grand (or maybe not so grand) exit.

Looking back now, I can understand the good intentions of my colleagues who advised me to endure it. After all, it’s really not easy to find a stable job these days.

But what’s done is done. You have to keep moving forward.

At least I can still afford next month’s rent, lololol.

After I quit, being able to write this novel was a pretty random thing in itself.

I’m not some kind of natural-born talent. I had tried publishing a couple of openings directly on Qidian before, but the reception was lukewarm, and almost no one read them.

Then one day, inspiration struck. I wrote the beginning of this book, spent two or three days revising it into its current form, and submitted it internally to my editor, Ginger Tea, on a whim.

Unexpectedly, it was accepted. I have to take this moment to formally thank my editor, Ginger Tea, for being willing to give a complete newcomer a chance.

But the joy of getting a contract was quickly replaced by the anxiety of creation.

I’m truly a complete novice with absolutely no experience in writing a serialized web novel. I have no idea how to structure a plot, plant foreshadowing, or develop characters. The daily updates were basically me forcing myself to write, to the point where I was on the verge of a breakdown.

The hardest part was not understanding what readers like and not being able to find a focus for my writing.

I went through the Sanjiang list and other rankings, but I couldn’t find any books similar to my genre that I could use as a reference to learn from.

Actually, based on the stats, this book could have gone premium when it hit 200,000 words.

But at that time, I just couldn’t build up a stockpile of Chapters for bonus releases. I didn’t want everyone to feel unsatisfied on the first day it went premium, so I kept putting it off until now.

Fortunately, I’ve finally managed to save up over 10,000 words in my backlog, so I can give you all a small burst of updates.

First, I want to thank the friends who have consistently left comments and interacted with me in the comment section.

Whether they were words of support, encouragement, or plot discussions—aside from some unfriendly insults—I’ve read every single comment carefully.

When I see a detail that I put a lot of thought into get noticed by a reader, it’s a genuinely gratifying feeling.

Next, I want to give a special thanks to the readers who vote for me with monthly and recommendation tickets every day. Opening the author’s dashboard each day and seeing the ticket count notifications pop up is the biggest motivation for me to keep going.

Alright, back to business. Here’s the part you all care about most.

This book will go premium tomorrow, after midnight on September 19th.

I’ve seen that other authors are used to calculating bonus releases as "X bonus Chapters," but I find it more intuitive to go by word count.

Note: All the following bonus releases are in addition to the standard 4,000 words per day.

Premium Release Bonus: After the book goes premium, I will first release 20,000 bonus words. These 20,000 words will be updated over the course of three days. You can think of it simply as 10,000 words per day for the first three days.

Regarding the first 24-hour subscriptions, I’ve thought about it seriously. The book currently has over ten thousand favorites, but the follow-up reading data is actually pretty average, so I’m setting a more realistic goal.

The bottom line: Over 300 first-day subscriptions.

As long as we hit this number, I will keep writing this book to the end. I genuinely want to make a career out of writing web novels, and for me, this book is both a creative work and a process of continuous learning and gaining experience.

If we can’t even reach that, it probably means I’m not cut out for this, and I might be forced to go out and collect a hundred different kinds of asshole bosses instead.

I’d develop a taste for it, I guess, hahaha.

A bonus release goal: Over 500 first-day subscriptions.

If we can hit 500, I will release another 10,000 bonus words. However, I can’t release these 10,000 words immediately after the first three days. My writing speed is limited, and I don’t have the backlog, so I hope you can all understand.

If we do achieve this, I will post another notice Chapter to let everyone know, and I will definitely finish releasing all 10,000 of those words before the end of the month.

As for an Alliance Leader or anything... to be honest, I’ve never dared to even dream of it.

But what if?

If an Alliance Leader really does appear, I will release 10,000 bonus words for each one.

Next are my planned regular bonus releases for October. I’ll add an extra 10,000 words per week. This will probably break down to one 6,000-word day and two 8,000-word days during the week.

Also, for any day that the monthly ticket count surpasses 50, there will be a 5,000-word bonus release, delivered within three days. But no pressure on this one; it’s just a little incentive. I just hope you’ll remember to vote for me with your monthly tickets.

Even though I said before that I couldn’t find any similar books on the ranking charts, that doesn’t mean I’m just treading water. When I’m not writing, I’m constantly trying to learn: scouring the charts, reading the books of top authors, studying their pacing and structure... I’m desperate to improve.

It’s like I said, I want to go far on this path of writing web novels.

I hope that my writing will get better and better, so that every reader who is willing to spend their time and money to subscribe to this book can enjoy an even more exciting story.

I hope that when this book is finished and I look back, I can clearly feel that I’ve improved since I started, even if it’s just a little bit.
