Chapter 158: Stay Here Forever
In the time it takes to smoke a cigarette, Han Huan had taken down all of Gu Ying's bodyguards. They were all on the ground, wailing in agony. They tried to get up, but finding they couldn't, they could only struggle to crawl aside.
"Search! Find Elder Gu! If anyone tries to stop you, take them down!" With a wave of his hand, Zhang Long sent his bodyguards scattering throughout the area.
"Are you going to hand over the shares, or do I have to make you?" At Zhou Fan's instruction, Han Huan stopped holding back. He slowly approached Gu Ying and Wang Liang, his voice a low, demanding rumble.
"Mom! Mom, you can't give them the shares! If you do, I'll have nothing again!" Wang Liang was terrified of Han Huan. After all, this was the man who had knocked him out with a single slap and had just taken down all those bodyguards. He cowered behind Gu Ying, his voice trembling.
"Feifei, do you have to be so heartless? No matter how you look at it, I'm still your aunt. Even if you won't do it for your grandfather's sake, think about your father. When he was alive, he took such good care of me, his little sister. And I've treated you pretty well too, haven't I?" Ignoring Han Huan, Gu Ying turned to Gu Feifei again, deciding to play the sympathy card.
"Are you really going to push us to the brink just for some shares in the Gu Group? Do you have any idea what people in Jiang Province will say after today? They'll say the Gu Family tore itself apart over money, that aunt and niece came to blows, and that in the end, the heartless niece emerged victorious while her aunt was left in ruins. Can you really stand by and watch our family's legacy and reputation be destroyed like that?"
"I know you're unhappy with Liang's... 'performance'... at the company, and that you're not happy I gave him shares. How about this? I'll give you another ten percent of the shares. The remaining twenty-five percent—I won't give them to Liang, I'll keep them myself. You can be the chairman of the company, and I won't interfere at all. Just consider my shares payment for taking care of your grandfather. Can't that be enough?"
It had to be said, Gu Ying was a formidable woman, highly skilled at reading people. She knew that aside from Gu Changkong himself, the entire conflict today hinged on the shares. And she also knew that if she could just win over Gu Feifei, no one else's objections would matter; they would have no legitimate grounds to interfere.
"Miss Gu isn't going to go soft on her, is she? Younger Brother Zhou, maybe you should just step in yourself?" Zhang Long frowned. Worried that Gu Feifei would have a change of heart, he whispered to Zhou Fan.
"Let her make her own decision. I can't stay in Jiang Province forever. Even if I leave Han Huan here to help her, she'll still have to handle many things on her own. I can't be here to make every decision for her."
Zhou Fan shook his head. 'Jiang Province is just one piece of my plan. It might be an important piece, but I can't stay here forever. If Gu Feifei disappoints me, then I'll have to be ruthless. I'll have Han Huan start a new venture from scratch and eventually swallow up her company.'
"You don't have to say any of that to me. Before everything happened to the Gu Family, I might not have cared about these things. But now... I already gave you a final chance. You were the one who threw it away." Gu Feifei let out a sharp, delicate laugh, laced with a chilling, ruthless edge.
"Today, I'm not just taking Grandfather back, and I'm not just taking back the shares. I'm also going to make sure you and your son... stay here forever!"
Stay here forever!
Three words. Just three words!
But when those three words landed, the scene fell utterly silent, leaving only the sound of the moaning wind.
Zhang Long's face was a mask of disbelief. 'How could Miss Gu be so ruthless?'
Anyone who wasn't a complete idiot knew exactly what "stay here forever" meant.
Gu Feifei was going to kill them, mother and son, to eliminate the root of all future problems.
'If it were him, he would have done the same—and been even more ruthless than her, probably killing everyone here. If you're going to do something, you go all the way. But he never imagined Gu Feifei would be the one to do it.'
It wasn't just Zhang Long. A flash of shock appeared in Zhou Fan's eyes as well, but it was followed by a hint of deep satisfaction.
'Good. That's the kind of ruthlessness she needs. Only with that edge will I not have to worry about her being taken advantage of when I'm not around.'
"Gu Feifei, have you lost your mind? You actually want to kill me? Do you have any idea who's backing me? Do you know what kind of retaliation you'll face if you kill me? Your grandfather will never forgive you! The person backing me will never forgive you! And if you dare touch my son, the Capital City Wang Family will *never* forgive you!"
Gu Ying was borderline hysterical, her voice shrill and frantic. If she wasn't so terrified of Han Huan standing nearby, she likely would have lunged at Gu Feifei to fight her to the death.
"Feifei, your aunt... even though she's done wrong, and I even suspect she knows something about the tragedy that befell our Gu Family... but besides each other, granddaughter, she's the only family we have left!" Just then, Gu Changkong, supported by Zhang Long's bodyguards, walked over. He had clearly overheard their exchange, and his face was a portrait of grief and anguish as he spoke.
