The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 149: What a Fresh Heart

"I think she's talking to you," Zhou Fan whispered. He spun around, his dagger suddenly striking out at Blake!

The instant the little girl appeared, the unease in Zhou Fan's heart peaked. 'This must be Ye Fei's final trump card!'

'Faced with a greater enemy, I have to finish off Blake first. Otherwise, things will get very ugly for me!'

"Nether King, you're a real bastard!" Blake hadn't expected Zhou Fan's sudden attack. He hastily threw up his fists to block, but the force of the dagger's strike sent a numbing jolt up his arms, forcing him to take an involuntary step back.

Blake couldn't believe it. Even now, Zhou Fan was still holding back. At the same time, he sensed Zhou Fan's urgency to end their fight. This made Blake relax. He shifted from his all-out assault to a purely defensive stance.

His gut told him that Zhou Fan's desperation to finish this fight had to be connected to the little girl who had just appeared.

At that thought, for some reason, even while defending with all his might, Blake risked getting his arm stabbed by Zhou Fan's dagger just to glance in the little girl's direction.

But the moment he turned his head, what he saw shocked him so much he nearly cried out.

There, where the little girl was, a tall, entirely blue figure had appeared at some point.

Then, the tall blue figure took a single stride that covered five or six meters, heading straight for Zhou Fan and Blake.

"Nether King, you're so dead! Hahaha! This must be what you were worried about—Ye Fei's trump card for your assassination!" Blake laughed sinisterly as he shoved Zhou Fan away with both palms.

"You're still too naive. From what I know of Ye Fei, he's a man of boundless greed—for power, for money, for everything. He's never going to pay the remainder of your fee," Zhou Fan said, a wry smirk playing on his lips. His words made Blake's pupils widen. "Today, he doesn't just want me dead. He wants you all dead, too. After all, the final payments for all of you add up to quite a lot!"

"Nether King, let's work together!" This time, Blake didn't doubt Zhou Fan. He knew full well how well Zhou Fan understood Ye Fei, just as Ye Fei understood Zhou Fan. His eyes were fixed on the behemoth—now less than five meters away and standing over two meters tall. "How about we take this big guy down first?" he yelled to Zhou Fan.

"Hee hee hee... Ah Shan, kill them. They're no fun!"

Just then, accompanied by a sweet, bone-chilling giggle, the little girl's voice rang out again, clear enough for everyone to hear.

In the next instant, Ah Shan vanished from Zhou Fan and Blake's line of sight.

BAM! BAM!

He reappeared behind them. Before either could react, a single punch sent them both flying over ten meters. They crashed to the ground, each coughing up a mouthful of blood.

"Dammit! I'll fucking kill you!" Blake had never been so humiliated. He wiped the blood from his mouth, the shock and fear in his eyes transmuting into pure rage. With a roar, he shot forward in several quick strides, aiming for the little girl still sitting calmly in the car.

'Since Ah Shan takes her orders, I'll just get rid of her first.' In Blake's mind, even if the little girl was strong, just how strong could she possibly be?

Zhou Fan had the same idea, but his injuries were more severe than Blake's, and he was a split second slower getting to his feet.

But in the next second, a scene unfolded that would remain seared into Zhou Fan's memory for a very long time.

Just as Blake reached the little girl, he froze. A delicate, pale arm had pierced straight through his chest, emerging from his back. Cradled in its palm was a bright red heart, still dripping with blood.

"Hee hee hee... what a nice, fresh heart!" As Zhou Fan watched in stunned silence, the little girl slowly withdrew her hand, popped the heart into her mouth, and swallowed it whole. She even smacked her lips, savoring the aftertaste.

"Mister... I can feel that your heart is even tastier!" After swallowing the heart, the little girl looked at Zhou Fan. Her voice was a soft whisper, and her little legs swung back and forth in the air, the picture of playful innocence.

"My heart tastes awful! It's black!" Zhou Fan shook his head frantically, then turned and bolted toward the crowd. "Run! Get out of here, now! You can't handle that brute!"

By now, the battle had devolved into a chaotic, brutal melee. He Yi and Bai Zhi were both covered in wounds, and Sean was battered and bruised. The Double Squad had fewer than twenty members left who could still fight, and the team of assassins was down to less than ten.

Lost in the fierce din of battle, no one heard Zhou Fan's warning. They were so focused on their own fights that they hadn't even noticed the arrival of the behemoth, Ah Shan, let alone Blake's horrific death at the hands of the little girl.
