The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 229: His Words Can't Be Trusted

In that instant, it was as if Zhou Huang had a sudden breakthrough. Wielding her dagger with incredible speed, she managed to block all of Fan's attacks and even launch a counterattack!

"Fan isn't going to lose, is he? It looks like Zhou Huang has him completely overwhelmed," Bai Zhi said, her voice laced with anxiety. 'These opponents are no pushovers. If Fan loses, Zhou Huang might kill him on the spot, just like how she cut down that big guy with a single strike!'

"He won't. The moment Zhou Huang gave up her long blade and switched to a dagger, her defeat was sealed." Zhou Fan shook his head, looking at Zhou Huang with a hint of admiration. 'It would be great if she were on our side. A real shame to waste such talent.' "Because Fan… is skilled with a dagger in each hand!"

The words had barely left Zhou Fan's mouth when, before Bai Zhi could react, Fan—who had been gradually pushed back by Zhou Huang—suddenly erupted. While his right hand blocked her attack, his left shot out. A second dagger, glinting with a cold light, had appeared in his palm, and he plunged it directly into Zhou Huang's right shoulder!

In the next instant, giving her no chance to react, Fan's two daggers became a blur. They moved like the blades of a fan, a whirlwind of steel as he stabbed at Zhou Huang again and again, as if in a frenzy.

In just a matter of moments, Zhou Huang had been forced to the edge of the ring, her body now covered in six or seven new wounds. Although none were fatal, they were bleeding profusely.

At this rate, it wouldn't be long before the blood loss compromised her fighting ability, allowing Fan to reap her life with a single strike.

Suddenly, Li Mei, who had been standing below the ring, made her move. She leaped onto the ring in a single stride and sent a palm strike flying toward Fan!

"Holy shit, Old Witch! You have no fucking honor! You're even worse than the Vermilion Bird!" Fan, never expecting her to be so shameless, cursed loudly. It was too late to dodge, so he crossed his arms, attempting to block the blow with his daggers.

However, the impact he was bracing for never came. Fan looked up to see a figure now standing beside him.

"Bro, you came just in time! Any later and I would've been a goner!" Fan wailed dramatically, clutching Zhou Fan's arm. He tried his best to squeeze out a few tears but couldn't manage a single one.

"Stop being so dramatic and get down there to rest," Zhou Fan said, shoving Fan away with a look of disgust. 'If a hole opened up in the ground, I'd crawl right in. This is so awkward!'

"You just wait, Old Witch! I'll get you for that dirty move sooner or later!" Fan pointed at Li Mei, who had been knocked back by Zhou Fan's palm strike, and cursed viciously. He then turned and hopped off the ring, not forgetting to yell back at Zhou Huang, "I won this round, by the way! Told you you were no match for me, but you wouldn't listen!"

Watching Fan swagger off, whistling smugly, Zhou Huang seethed with indignation. 'I can't believe I lost to him,' she thought. 'His strength and speed are both inferior to mine!'

"You should get down, too. Don't overthink it. You win some, you lose some," Li Mei said. Seeing her disciple so crestfallen, she couldn't bear to reprimand her. That, combined with Zhou Huang's family background, made her afraid to scold the girl, so she could only offer quiet words of comfort.

"Well now, old woman. This little girl must have quite the background for you to abandon all face to save her," Zhou Fan said, glancing at Zhou Huang before turning a mocking gaze on Li Mei. "Oh, my apologies. I forgot you're used to having no face to lose."

"Hmph. That's none of your business!" Li Mei snorted with contempt. A pair of curved blades appeared in her hands as her gaze turned icy and fixed on Zhou Fan. "We may have lost the first two rounds, but there is still a third. Why don't I test the strength of Mr. Zhou for myself, shall I?"

"Hold on a minute. I want to say something to your disciple," Zhou Fan said, waving his hand dismissively at Li Mei. He then turned to the other side, where Zhou Huang still stood with a baffled expression. "Hey, you—the one who shares my surname. Do you want to know why you lost? Want to learn how to be like him and have the weak defeat the strong?"

"You're talking to me?" Zhou Huang glanced around before pointing at herself in confusion. After Zhou Fan nodded, she replied loudly, "I do! You have a way?"

"Of course I have a way!" Zhou Fan nodded with a grin, as if he could already see a big fish swimming right into his net. He then pointed to Chen Yao, who was standing nearby. "If you want to get stronger, go to the Divan Company tomorrow and find this beautiful lady. She'll tell you what to do."

"Don't listen to him! You can't trust a word he says!" Li Mei finally snapped out of it, hastily shouting a warning to Zhou Huang.

In response, Zhou Huang said nothing. She simply glanced between Zhou Fan and Li Mei, then gave a single nod before turning and walking away.

But no one knew who that nod was for.
