Chapter 201: Missed Your Daddy?
"Shit, it's him!"
Staring at the middle-aged man, Fan's eyes narrowed instinctively. He gently shielded Zheng Sisi behind him and whispered to Zhou Fan at his side.
Zhou Fan nodded. He had known who was in charge here the moment he walked into the bar. It was the man in black from Black Water City—the one who had ambushed him, leaving him severely injured, unconscious, and nearly dead.
"Are you a fucking idiot? What kind of comparison is that? Does that coward even deserve to be compared to me? And more importantly, even if he isn't worthy of being part of our Chu Family, and certainly not worthy of being my, Chu Wen's, brother, he still has Chu Family blood in his veins. He's not someone that trash like you gets to insult whenever you please!"
Chu Wen glanced at Zhou Fan. Seeing no reaction from him, he grew annoyed, pointed at the other man, and started cursing.
'Who the hell do you think you are, telling this young master what to do?'
"Insolence!"
The moment Chu Wen finished speaking, the man who appeared to be the owner let out a loud shout, leaped down from the second floor, and threw a punch straight at Chu Wen.
Though Chu Wen had seen his fair share, he was still just an ordinary person who knew no martial arts. There was no way he could dodge it, yet he showed no sign of panic.
Sure enough, just as the fist was less than ten centimeters from his nose, a figure appeared. With a loud THUD, the attacker was sent flying sideways.
Zhou Fan retracted his foot and stood calmly beside Chu Wen, his left hand still wrapped around Chen Yao's slim waist, as if he had just done something utterly insignificant.
"Brother-in-law, can you not cut it so close next time? Two more seconds and you wouldn't have a brother-in-law anymore!" Chu Wen said, his heart still racing as he wiped nonexistent sweat from his forehead.
Meanwhile, the man Zhou Fan had kicked away was curled up on the ground, continuously spitting up blood. He was taking his last breaths; it was clear he wouldn't live much longer.
"Zhou Fan, I didn't expect we'd meet again!"
On the second floor, the middle-aged man remained completely unconcerned with his subordinate's life or death. He wore a confident smile. 'If not for my mistake last time,' he thought, 'Zhou Fan would already be dead. This time, I will atone for my failure and regain Elder Witch's favor!'
"What? Miss your daddy?" Zhou Fan retorted nonchalantly, raising his head with a reluctant frown.
PFFT!
Hearing Zhou Fan's roguish comment, Chen Yao couldn't help but let out a laugh. Realizing the inappropriateness of the situation, she quickly covered her mouth with her small hands and leaned on Zhou Fan's shoulder. However, her trembling shoulders made it obvious she was struggling to hold back her laughter.
"That was so savage of Brother-in-law!" Xiaolu whispered to Chu Wen, also trying her best to stifle her laughter.
The scene might have been bloody and dangerous, but any girl Chu Wen brought to meet Zhou Fan was hardly the sheltered type. Having spent so much time with Chu Wen, she had seen plenty of gore.
"Hmph, sharp-tongued brat. I let you escape last time, yet instead of cherishing your pathetic life, you actually dared to come looking for me? If Elder Witch hadn't forbidden me from coming after you, I would've killed you long ago!" As he spoke, the middle-aged man leaped down from the second floor with several others, his eyes brimming with killing intent. "Remember this: my name is Liang He. I wouldn't want you to die and arrive at Yama Hall without even knowing who sent you!"
As if he hadn't heard a word Liang He said, Fan shot the man a disgusted look before turning to Zhou Fan. "No way. You actually took in trash like that as your son? Let me tell you, we may be good friends, but I refuse to acknowledge a nephew like him!"
"If he doesn't want him, then I don't want this nephew either, Brother-in-law! It's just too embarrassing!" Chu Wen chimed in, eager to stir up more trouble. He fumbled through his pockets, finally pulling out his wallet. He casually plucked out a few bills and held them out to Liang He. "Here, take this as your lucky money. Just don't go around telling people you know me from now on."
"Xiaowen, you've gone too far!" Zhou Fan chided with mock displeasure. Just as Chu Wen was thinking he'd actually messed up, Zhou Fan turned to Chen Yao, who had just managed to stop laughing. "Little Yaoyao, do you have any coins?"
"Huh? Yeah, I think I have a few!" Though confused, Chen Yao opened her purse, fished three coins out of an inner pocket, and handed them to Zhou Fan.
"Here." Zhou Fan opened his palm with a benevolent smile, looking at Liang He. "A little kid like you shouldn't be handling big bills. Just take these coins and go buy yourself some candy." His expression, his tone—it was exactly like a father speaking to his son.
Instantly, it wasn't just Chen Yao and Xiaolu; even Zheng Sisi, who was hiding behind Fan, burst out laughing.
Fan and Chu Wen both gave Zhou Fan a thumbs-up.
'Damn, you're the absolute master of insults. Cursing someone out without a single cuss word... When did insults get this sophisticated?'
