Unwritten Destiny [Yuri/Sapphic, Isekai, LitRPG]

Session 28 – There is no armor better than a pretty dress

"Oh! What about this one?" Paz held a poofy little blue a-line dress up against her chest.

I held my hand up and wobbled it. "Great if you're going to church with your grandmother?"

She squealed in disgust and quickly folded it again before setting it on the reject pile.

I dug around and found one final top that was super cute. I turned and held it up. "Eh? Cute, right?"

Several seconds after I turned around, Paz tore her eyes up from the tight pants that I had already paid for to wear out of the shop. Her cheeks turned pink and she nodded. "Uh huh, super cute!"

I giggled at her and then looked over everything we had picked out. It was nearly a hundred gold worth of clothes. Gods Below, shopping for two women was expensive! I was looking through assorted trinkets on a shelf when I gasped. A shiny leather bag with intricate runes stitched into the pockets. And in front of it sat two vials with gently glowing red liquid. I held up the bag to Maple. "Is this an enchanted bag?" They nodded. "How much for the bag and healing potions?"

Maple looked over the clothes and did some mental math as they added up everything we had picked out. "Maple would part with the clothes selected for ninety gold pieces, the enchanted bag for three hundred, the adventurer's kit for one, and the healing potions for fifty each."

Shit. That was all of our gold. I pulled Paz tight against my side and gave Maple puppy eyes. "For two such cute Sapphists, maybe Maple could find it in their heart to sell us everything for four hundred and fifty gold pieces?"

Maple gave me a long, stern look but then nodded. "Maple agrees. Maple will not deny these two purrrrrrfect adventurers."

Yes! Score. I handed Maple all but forty of our gold pieces and shoved everything into the bag. I put all the clothes and the adventurer's kit (that consisted of rope, two bedrolls, several torches, a flint and steel, and a cooking pot) into the main compartment and the two healing potions into a side pocket along with the last of our gold. I slung the bag over my shoulder. "I'm naming it the Magic Bag of Stuff! So, we ready to g-" I turned to Paz and saw that she had changed into a form-fitting black dress. It was slit up to her thigh and the halter top proudly put her breasts on display. She had wool leggings on under it with very tall boots with quite a heel on them and a fur jacket comfortably slung over her shoulders. I had gone in a slightly different direction with tight not-quite-leather pants, shiny leather boots, and a tightly laced red bodice over a white blouse trimmed in black lace. Paz looked like she just stepped out of a Renn fair, and I looked like a slutty pirate. We stood and just stared at each other as we both turned progressively darker shades of crimson.

I finally cleared my throat and forced myself to look away before I burst into flames admiring her beauty. "Ready to go?"

"Y-yeah!" She fanned herself and tried desperately not to watch my ass as I thanked Maple and then swished out of the shop.

Back out on the street, I looked over at Dame Olivia's forge and then back to Paz and go- umm.. gosh, she took my breath away. She dragged her eyes up from my butt as I turned and stepped closer. "You are so beautiful, you just take my breath away in that outfit." I reached up and tucked a wild stand of red hair behind her ear.

"Yeah? You should see me without it!" She paused, realized what she had said, and then started turning into a tomato.

Never let it be said that I don't help those in need. I pulled Paz into a passionate kiss. She moaned into my mouth and then that moan slowly turned into a hungry growl. My little hellion nipped at my lip and then grabbed my corset, spinning me around and not very gently slamming me against the wall. She pressed her knee up firmly between my thighs and grabbed my hands, pinning them above my head. She broke our kiss and started trailing kisses down to my exposed neck.

"Paz.." I was begging, pleading. I desperately needed her to either stop or take me back to our room.

She finally relented her attack on my neck and whispered in my ear. "S-sorry. Sorry, I know I shouldn't do that when we're not ready to keep going. I just.. had to taste you." I whimpered pathetically as she withdrew her now damp knee.

We both straightened our clothes as best we could and took a few minutes to collect ourselves. "So, we've got a little bit of gold left, shall we see if we can afford weapons, being as someone who shall remain nameless lost the two swords that we took from the slavers."

"Ahh!" She gasped and narrowed her eyes. "Liar! You were supposed to hold them while I peed."

"I said I was putting them down because Bethany needed a hand with the elf! You said okay."

Paz crossed her arms and pouted. "I was trying to pee! I don't remember what I said, I just wanted you to go away!"

"Whatever!" I angrily flipped my blonde ponytail and turned away from her. "I'm not having this argument again."

"Yeah, because you always lose. Because it's your fault!" Paz stormed past me towards Dame Olivia's forge.

I followed after her and as soon as I entered, I felt sweat prickling up my back in the sweltering heat. We followed the tink tink tink and found the buff blacksmith hammering a sword on her anvil.

Dame Olivia was wearing thick pants and what amounted to a tank top under her leather apron. Her salt and pepper hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, and her arms had muscle on top of muscle from all the years as first a well-respected soldier and then a small town blacksmith. I could imagine that she would have no problem lifting me high in the air with one hand, and Paz with the other. But I didn't. Imagine it, that is. I'm spoken for.

"Greetings." She set the hammer down and wiped sweat from her brow. Her voice had a deep richness to it that projected authority and respect without trying.

"Well met." I inclined my head. "We need a few weapons." Paz opened her mouth and I got to stick a finger in her face for a change.

"Of course, what pieces are you looking for?" She gestured around the combination shop and workshop where dozens and dozens of weapons in every shape and size hung from hooks, or sat in boxes, or were stacked haphazardly on shelves.

I looked around. "I was hoping for a short sword and bow."

"And I'd like a shield, something between a buckler and kite?" Paz added over my shoulder.

"Not a problem." Olivia immediately moved around the shop, checking a couple of different pieces before presenting the three chosen items to us.

I didn't know much about swords yet, but it seemed well crafted and balanced. The bow I was much more familiar with and this particular one blew away anything I had ever owned. "These are great. Paz?"

My girlfriend hefted the gauntlet she had been handed and looked curiously at Dame Olivia. "I'm afraid that I don't understand. This is a shield?"

"Close your fist and flick your wrist." Olivia demonstrated the gesture.

Paz imitated her and squealed with delight as thin plates of metal slid out and then interlocked together forming the perfect Paz-sized buckler.

"It's a minor enchantment, but women your size find it very handy to have a surprise shield that doesn't weigh them down." Dame Olivia then showed her the rune in the middle of the extended shield. "Just press that firmly and it will retract. In fact, a neat little trick is to use an opponent's face to trigger the rune."

I really didn't want to ask, but I had to face the music. "How minor of an enchantment, exactly? Because we have a very minor amount of gold."

Olivia smiled. "Ahh, to be a fresh faced adventurer again. I'll tell you what, you two have honest, hard-working faces. I'll give you all three pieces for fifty gold."

I flinched and looked at Paz. She was vibrating and giving me the biggest, saddest puppy eyes I've ever seen. "Please! Please! Please!"

I sighed and my shoulders slumped. "Is there any way I could give you thirty and work off the rest somehow?"

Olivia grinned very widely at me. "Anything to make the wife happy, huh?" I gave a resigned nod. "Alright, I can't say no to young love. My friend Richard needs an escort to Arcadia for his merchant group. They will be coming through Vaqyn in about six days. I don't expect it to be especially dangerous, but his current escort can't continue on to Arcadia for personal reasons. Give me your thirty gold, take your weapons and get him there safely. We'll forget the other twenty gold and he'll pay you another two hundred for your time. Sound like a fair deal?"

Paz pushed me aside. "We'll do it!" And then started playing with her enchanted buckler.

The tall, muscular blacksmith gave me a tender and understanding look and wished us luck after I handed her the gold. "We'll be back to meet Richard here next week."
