Chapter 34
In the middle of the night, Diana's phone buzzed, waking her up from her peaceful sleep. Her naked body moved unconsciously to find the source of the sound and ended up entangled with another body under the covers.
A low groan escaped her lips as she realized it was Sam, whom she had spent the entire day and night fucking. They only took a few breaks to eat and drink before resuming their activities. She was surprised that Sam could last so long and perform so well, considering it was his first time. Maybe he had natural talent or he was too horny to get tired. Either way, she was satisfied.
Reaching out for her phone, Diana grabbed it and saw a text message notification. She immediately sat up, careful not to disturb the sleeping man beside her.
With her back leaning against the headboard, she read the message. The content was short, but it made her narrow her eyes in displeasure.
Carefully, Diana slipped out of bed, put on a thin nightgown that revealed half of her breasts and ended just below her butt, and left the room quietly.
In no time, she was outside of the mansion, her heels clicking on the ground as she approached the gate. There was a guard standing there who opened the gate immediately for her.
As she stepped out, a familiar car was parked on the other side of the street. It looked ordinary but sleek and expensive, and it belonged to someone she knew well.
Walking towards it, Diana noticed a young man standing against the car and immediately called out.
"Why did you call me out in the middle of the night, Jake?"
There was a hint of irritation in her voice as she glared at him. She didn't expect him to contact her, especially not at this hour.
However, instead of responding, Jake looked her up and down, checking out her appearance. When he saw the faint red marks on her neck, chest, and thighs, he clenched his jaw. He could easily guess what had happened.
"Did you and Sam really have sex?" he finally asked in a low tone.
"Heh. Isn't it obvious?" Diana smirked confidently, crossing her arms below her chest, making the fabric of her gown stretch and reveal more of her skin. "Of course we did. And we did it a lot. So much so that I can still feel his cock inside me right now."
At her words, Jake took a step forward, closing the distance between them. He stopped right in front of her, his tall figure towering over her slightly. His eyes moved down to her neck again, staring at the red marks left by Sam.
Slowly, Jake raised his hand. His fingers brushed against her collarbone, his thumb gently tracing the edge of one of the marks.
Diana did not step back. She simply tilted her head, allowing his warm fingers to linger on her bare skin. Her smirk remained unchanged.
"What are you trying to do, Jake? Does it bother you to see marks of my new boyfriend on my body?"
"Do you even understand what you're playing at, Diana?" Jake asked instead of answering her. His thumb slid down to her chest, grazing the swell of her breasts before moving lower to her stomach. "What's your goal in dating him? Because I know you aren't really interested in a man like him."
Diana grabbed his hand before it could reach between her legs and held it firmly. "Oh my. Don't act like you know me better than I do. Maybe I do like him for real. Did you think about that? And even if I didn't, it shouldn't matter to you, right? You have Chloe to keep you company."
She then leaned forward and whispered into his ear. "If that's all you came here for, then please leave. I'm not in the mood for chitchat. Especially when my new boyfriend is sleeping in the bed alone. I don't want him to miss my body heat."
Jake remained silent at her words. His jaw tightened as his free hand moved to wrap around her waist, pulling her closer. "You know damn well I'm not just talking about Sam. I'm talking about you. Your actions, your intentions, and this... game you're playing."
"And what if I told you that my intentions are clear and simple? That I'm just enjoying the moment?" Diana pulled away from him slightly but stayed in his arms, her eyes locking with his. "Are you sure you have any right to question me?"
Before Jake could reply, Diana slipped away from his hold and opened the car door. "Go back to your apartment, Jake. Don't worry about me or Sam. You should be worrying more about Chloe instead. She likes to get touchy with him a little too much. Better be careful before things get complicated."
Without another glance, Diana turned and walked back to her mansion, leaving Jake alone on the street. She did not look back even as the sound of his car engine faded into the distance.
Meanwhile, inside her room, Sam had woken up and noticed her absence. His brows furrowed, but he wasn't overly concerned. Maybe she had gone to get a glass of water or something.
A cold wind blew through the balcony door. It was slightly open, which might explain why the room was colder than before.
Sam got up from the bed and walked towards it. He intended to close the door before Diana returned, but he stopped when he noticed her standing outside in the night gown with someone he knew.
From where he stood, Sam couldn't hear what they were saying, but he could clearly see how close they were standing and how Jake was touching her body. He also noticed how Jake pulled Diana closer and held her waist before she pushed him away and walked back towards the mansion.
Sam quickly backed away from the balcony and lay back down on the bed. He pretended to be asleep, closing his eyes.
His heart, however, was beating fast as his mind raced. He didn't expect Jake to be there, let alone to see him with Diana like that. Something strange was happening.
When the door to the room creaked open, he held his breath. Diana's footsteps were soft but deliberate. She climbed back into bed, pulling the blanket over both of them. She pressed her warm body against Sam's chest and kissed his neck gently, unaware that he was not asleep.
Sam remained motionless, his mind still processing what he had witnessed. He didn't know what it meant or what to do. Should he confront her or pretend he didn't know?
After all, Diana was his girlfriend now. And yet, she met Jake late at night, secretly.
For the first time, Sam began to wonder if he had been too quick to trust Diana or if there was more to the situation than he realized.
'I knew and accepted she dated other guys before, including fucking them. But meeting Jake while she's with me in the middle of the night? What for? And the way he touched her...'
Sam recalled how Jake's hand had traced Diana's breasts and lingered on her stomach. Followed by how he had pulled her closer to him possessively.
'How could Diana allow it? How could she be with me and let another guy touch her like that? And more importantly, why the fuck did it look like they were lovers too?'
As these thoughts ran through his mind, he felt his eyes sting. The feeling of being deceived and betrayed crept up, making his mood turn sour. He never thought he would be in this situation, especially not after experiencing such amazing sex for the first time. He even dared to believe that she might be 'the one' for him, someone who would fill the void and love him back. He was wrong.
The emotions swirling inside him threatened to spill over. It was too painful to bear, but he had no outlet for it. All he could do was force them down deep.
'What about Chloe then? If Jake and Diana were... involved... wouldn't it hurt Chloe more if she found out? Should I tell her? But what can I say? I have no proof. They could just be exes with some lingering attachment, nothing more. Maybe Jake just couldn't accept Diana sleeping with me, and he confronted her. That could be it.'
Sam tried to find an explanation for their meeting. He wanted to believe that was the case because he didn't want to doubt Diana more than necessary. But the sight of them being close and intimate still lingered in his mind.
'I shouldn't jump to conclusions. Diana is a straightforward woman. If she doesn't want me, she wouldn't have slept with me. She wouldn't be lying next to me now.'
'As for why she didn't push Jake away when he touched her... I don't know. Fuck. Just ignore it, Sam. You're thinking too much. There's nothing between them anymore. Jake is with Chloe, and Diana is with you. Period.'
With that last thought, Sam pushed his emotions and suspicions aside. He forced himself to fall asleep again, yet no matter how hard he tried, sleep wouldn't come. He just lay there, his arms around Diana, and felt an ache inside him.
