My Messy Life with Stepmom and Stepsister

Chapter 27

The room fell silent as Sam stared at Chloe, who was panting heavily from her outburst. He couldn't believe what she was saying, nor could he believe what he was feeling.

Did he want to continue being close to her? Yes, a part of him did, but a bigger part of him knew it was wrong. It was wrong to have feelings for his sister and do all those sexual things with her, even if they weren't blood-related.

It would ruin their relationship and possibly affect Chloe's relationship with Jake. And Sam's potential relationship with Diana.

No matter how tempting it was, Sam knew he had to resist and say no.

Yet when he looked at Chloe's eyes and saw how vulnerable and hurt she was, he couldn't bring himself to reject her. He also realized he was being selfish by avoiding her instead of talking things out with her like an adult.

Not to mention, Chloe's words echoed in his mind. 'I want you to fucking hug me.' It made him realize that when he ran away from her earlier, he did hurt her feelings deeply. She felt rejected, unloved, and unwanted, even if it wasn't his intention.

"What? No response? Cat got your tongue? Come on, say something!" Chloe urged, shaking Sam slightly, making him snap out of his daze.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, Sam reached out and pulled Chloe into a tight embrace, surprising her. She froze for a second before melting in his arms and hugging him back.

"I'm sorry, Chloe. I didn't mean to make you feel that way. I was just... overwhelmed, you know? I didn't know how to handle what happened between us, so I thought keeping a distance would help. But I see now what a big mistake that was. I'm sorry." Sam spoke softly, his voice full of remorse.

Chloe tightened her hold on Sam and nuzzled her face against his chest. "Damn right, it was a big mistake. How could you even think I would be okay with that? You hurt me, you know?"

"I know... And I'm sorry. Can you forgive me? I'll try not to do it again."

"No. You have to make up for it somehow. Otherwise, I won't forgive you easily."

A sigh escaped Sam's lips. "Fine. Tell me what you want me to do. Within reason, though."

There was a pause, then Chloe pulled back and looked up at Sam with a sly smile. "You'll do anything I ask?"

"Anything except the obvious." Sam narrowed his eyes at her. "Don't you dare ask me to cross any lines again. You know we shouldn't."

Chloe pouted. "But you don't know what I'll ask. Don't say no right away."

"I'm just warning you, alright?"

"Alright, alright." Chloe huffed and bit her lip. Then she moved her hand from Sam's chest to his jaw before tracing his lips with her thumb. "How about a kiss?"

At that moment, the air became tense, and Sam's breath hitched. His mind went blank, not expecting Chloe to ask something like that. A kiss? How was that 'within reason'? Was she trying to make him go crazy? It was the same as crossing the line.

"Fuck, Chloe. I told you no more of this shit. How is kissing supposed to solve anything?" Sam grabbed her hand and lowered it from his face. "Please, don't ask for something you know I can't give."

"No. You're the one who said you'll do anything I ask within reason. Because you made me feel unloved and rejected. And to prove you care about me, you have to give me a sweet and loving kiss on the lips."

"You're being ridiculous again. There are other ways to show affection without using kisses."

"Hah. As if you could do them." Chloe rolled her eyes. "Come on, say it, Sam. Tell me how you would show your love and affection to me."

For some reason, her taunting tone made Sam's blood boil. He didn't know why, but he felt challenged by her, and it ignited his competitive spirit. He didn't want to lose, especially not when she was looking at him like he couldn't do shit.

But what could he do, though? He wasn't experienced enough to know the best way to make her feel special without being too sexual. All he could think of was treating her to a meal or buying something for her.

Those options would definitely piss her off, considering how he ran out on her earlier. Maybe even worsen her mood.

Yet when Sam was about to give up, an idea came to mind. A way to shut her up and prove her wrong. A way that wouldn't cross the line but would still be intimate.

With a smirk on his face, Sam leaned in and pressed his forehead against Chloe's, looking deeply into her eyes. "How about I hold you in my arms like this? Like a precious person who is loved and treasured. And I can give you a kiss, but not on your lips."

Sam slowly moved his head lower, his lips brushing over Chloe's nose and then down to her cheek, where he placed a soft kiss. He heard her breath catch and her body tremble slightly.

Then, as if to prove his point further, he moved again and pressed his lips to her temple before moving to the other side of her face, where he kissed her other cheek.

All the while, his arms held Chloe close, one on her back and the other on her waist. His fingers stroked her skin lightly, soothingly.

He didn't stop his affectionate gestures and kisses, making sure to cover every part of her face except her lips. It felt strange, yet romantic in a way.

Sam could feel Chloe's body heat up, and her breathing become erratic. It seemed like his little tactic was working.

After a few more kisses on her face, Sam pressed his forehead against hers again and looked at her. He didn't say anything but simply stared at her with affection in his eyes.

Chloe, on the other hand, was in a daze. Her eyes were unfocused, her cheeks flushed red, and her lips slightly parted. It seemed like Sam's plan had backfired on her because she looked more aroused and flustered than ever.

Not knowing how much time had passed, they stayed in each other's arms, staring at each other, feeling each other's emotions and body warmth. It was intimate, comfortable, and satisfying, even more than they had imagined.

Eventually, Chloe was the first to speak. Her voice was soft, yet firm. "This is not fair. I asked for a kiss on the lips, but you kissed me everywhere else."

"That's not the point here. You wanted me to show my love and affection for you, didn't you? I did just that, without breaking my promise to not cross the line. It was a win-win for both of us."

"No, it wasn't. Now I want you to kiss my lips even more than before." Chloe complained, but there was a hint of amusement in her tone. "You should have just listened to me and kissed me where I asked. Then everything would have been better."

"Heh. Then why are you smiling right now? You liked my little kisses, didn't you?"

"I..." Chloe bit her lip and rolled her eyes, unable to deny it. "Okay, maybe I did. But I still wanted a real kiss, alright? Your lips on mine, tongue to tongue, and..."

Sam's heart pounded harder at Chloe's words, but he shook his head, suppressing his desire. "Alright, stop. I've indulged you enough for today. Now I have a lunch date with Diana. So if you'll excuse me, I'll get going now."

Just like that, Sam let go of Chloe and moved away from her. She tried to reach for him but stopped herself.

Instead, she smiled brightly; her mood lifted. "Go then. I hope everything goes well with Diana."

"Yeah, thanks."

They walked out of the empty classroom together, side by side. No more words were spoken between them, but their hearts were connected, at least for a while. There was no awkwardness or tension, just love for each other.
