Chapter 206: Fortune Compass

After finishing the distribution of the rewards, the five students made their way toward the exit stone.

Kaiser took the lead while the others followed behind him. When they reached the stone, he placed his hand on its surface and activated it.

A faint light spread across the stone before a wave of energy enveloped the group. Their surroundings began to blur as the dungeon’s transportation mechanism activated, preparing to send them back outside.

However, before the transfer could finish, something unexpected happened.

The Fortune Compass inside Kaiser’s body suddenly activated.

A golden glow burst out from him, wrapping around his entire body. Before Kaiser could react, the light separated him from the others and pulled him away from the transportation energy.

"What the fuck?!"

Kaiser shouted as his surroundings changed abruptly.

The golden light carried him away from the exit stone, and the next moment, he found himself flying through a strange, seemingly endless tunnel. Countless streaks of light passed around him as he was dragged forward at an incredible speed.

He tried to control his body, but the golden energy surrounding him refused to let him move.

"What the hell is happening? Why did my skill activate on its own?"

Kaiser struggled for a moment before realizing that fighting against the force was pointless. He immediately opened his Cosmic System and searched for the description of the Fortune Compass.

He had used the skill before, but this was the first time it had activated without his command.

As he read through its information, his expression gradually changed.

The Fortune Compass possessed a passive function.

Whenever Kaiser was near an overwhelming amount of treasure or something that is immensively beneficial to him, it could activate automatically and guide him toward the source.

Kaiser’s eyes widened.

"An overwhelming amount of treasure?"

He stared at the information for a few seconds before looking at the tunnel around him.

"Wait. Does that mean there’s a massive treasure somewhere nearby?"

Before he could think further, the golden light around his body suddenly intensified.

The tunnel shook, and a powerful force pulled him toward a distant point. Kaiser felt as though he were being dragged across space itself, passing through an unknown region that had nothing to do with the Myriad Serpent Abode.

He had no idea where the Fortune Compass was taking him or how far away the destination might be.

All he could do was wait for the skill to finish transporting him.

Several moments later, the tunnel finally began to fade.

The golden light surrounding Kaiser dispersed, and his body shot out of the tunnel.

He instinctively twisted in midair before landing on the ground with a heavy thud.

After rolling several meters across the grass, he managed to stop himself and quickly stood up.

Kaiser looked around.

A vast grassy plain stretched out before him. The grass reached his knees in some places, while patches of strange flowers grew across the land. In the distance, he could see rolling hills beneath a sky that looked completely unfamiliar.

There were no buildings, roads, or signs of civilization nearby.

Kaiser remained silent for several seconds.

Then he slowly looked toward the sky before turning his gaze back to the empty grassland.

"What the fuck..."

He rubbed his forehead, trying to make sense of what had just happened.

"Where am I? And how did I even get here?"

He had been inside the Myriad Serpent Abode a moment ago. The exit stone had been activated, and he should have returned to the academy with Alex and the others.

Instead, his own skill had dragged him away in the middle of the transportation process and dumped him in an unknown location.

Kaiser opened his Cosmic System again and checked the Fortune Compass’s description to make sure he had understood it correctly.

After reading it once more, he let out a long sigh.

"So, it automatically takes me to places with an overwhelming amount of treasure..."

He paused and looked around the grassy plain.

"Then what kind of treasure could possibly be here?"

Kaiser narrowed his eyes.

He was certainly interested in finding valuable treasures, but being transported to an unknown location without warning was another matter entirely.

For all he knew, he could have been taken to a dangerous region filled with powerful monsters.

He checked his surroundings carefully, searching for any immediate threats. After confirming that nothing seemed to be approaching, he finally relaxed a little.

"Well, there’s no point complaining now."

Kaiser adjusted his clothes and looked toward the distant hills.

"Since the Fortune Compass went out of its way to bring me here, there should be something worth finding."

He had no intention of wasting an opportunity like this.

However, before beginning his search, he needed to figure out exactly where he was.

Kaiser begun to open his cosmic system to see where he is.

"What the fuck? Why isn’t it working?" Kaiser muttered as he tried to open his Cosmic System screen.

"Ripple!"

He called out to his Soul Bond, but nothing happened. He couldn’t even summon Ripple.

"Selene, Rachel, Garuk!"

Kaiser tried calling his undead one after another, but none of them responded. He couldn’t access his summons, pets, undead, or even his class abilities.

"Okay, now what the fuck am I supposed to do?" he muttered as he summoned his Radiant Sword of Light into his hand.

"At least I can still use my skills, but not my class skills," he said, looking at the sword.

"Damn it!"

He checked which skills he could still use. Only the extra skills he had learned from skill books or obtained through Rank-Up rewards were available to him. Even then, he couldn’t see how many extra skills he possessed, as his Cosmic System was inaccessible.

"Fuck, is this place capable of blocking the Cosmic System?"

Kaiser tried opening his status window once again, but it didn’t work either. He couldn’t access any part of the system, leaving him without a way to check his stats or other information.

His expression grew serious as he gripped his sword.

Whatever this place was, it had completely cut him off from the Cosmic System and most of his abilities. He would have to be careful until he figured out how it worked.
