Chapter 515 - 505: Picking Up People
Hearing this, Moira Lynch waved her hand. "Not yet. It’s just an idea for now."
In fact, the idea of opening a shop wasn’t a sudden whim. She’d had the thought for a long time, but back then, she wanted to sell various types of Medicine.
After all, with the Pharmaceutical Ring, she could produce any kind of Medicine she wanted.
But after Moira Lynch did some market research, she quickly dismissed the idea. At least, it wasn’t feasible right now, because the business was far too complicated.
First off, since she would be selling Medicine, it would be classified as a pharmaceutical. This required a mountain of paperwork and would likely involve patent issues and experimental data to prove the Medicine was safe.
Going through the entire process would take at least two years.
And that was just the first step of a long journey.
In short, without powerful connections, it would be incredibly difficult to sustain a business selling Medicine.
Moira Lynch could predict that if she really opened such a shop, she would face endless trouble.
It wasn’t just bragging—her Medicine was so effective that it would surely be snatched up the moment it hit the market. And then, the secret formula for her Medicine would likely become a target.
So, the idea of opening a shop was shelved, until now.
Seeing that Hugh Finch looked idle, Moira Lynch sent half of the resumes in her hand over to him, asking him to help with the screening.
Resume after resume flashed quickly before their eyes.
After several hours of screening, they finally selected three hundred and seventy-eight candidates.
Moira Lynch sent a message to these three hundred and seventy-eight people, telling them to pack their bags and get ready. She also mentioned that if they had families, arrangements would be made for them as well.
"By the way, are you planning to bring all these people to Veridian Prime?" Hugh Finch suddenly asked.
"Nope," Moira Lynch shook her head. "I’m planning to send them to Cloudsea Planet. It’s quiet there, so they can focus on their creative work."
Hearing this, Hugh Finch continued, "If that’s the case, then I suggest you hire more chefs, nannies, and the like to handle cooking and cleaning."
Moira Lynch was about to say it wasn’t necessary since there were robots over there, but then she had another thought. The robots on Cloudsea Planet were already busy enough. If they had to divert their energy to take care of people, they would probably be overwhelmed.
Besides, people weren’t the same as plants.
What’s more, among those three hundred and seventy-eight people, the average age was between thirty and forty, with quite a few in their fifties and sixties.
Taking these factors into account, Moira Lynch decisively posted another job listing online.
This time, she was recruiting chefs, butlers, and nannies.
The chefs were required to know how to prepare nutritious meals. The butlers and nannies needed to have work experience, good personalities, and preferably, a special skill.
Considering the large number of people they would be caring for, the number of chefs and nannies required was also quite high.
After everything was done, Moira Lynch finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Now all that’s left is to get everyone to Cloudsea Planet."
"How do you plan to do that? These people are all probably on Caelus right now. Traveling from Veridian Prime back to Caelus requires an advance application. Even if you could go back, these people are scattered all over the country. If you go pick them up one by one, who knows how long that would take."
"Besides, you also promised to take care of their families. Are you planning to send them all to Cloudsea Planet too?"
Hugh Finch’s eyes were filled with disapproval.
In his view, Moira Lynch wasn’t that foolish of a person.
In response, Moira Lynch just gave a mysterious smile. "I have my own way of handling that. As for taking care of their families, that’s just a small matter. I’ll send a message to Redlight, have him bring the people to Veridian Prime, and then I can just provide them with Elf Tree Houses, right?"
’It’s a trivial matter.’
Moira Lynch wore an expression that said, ’What’s the big deal?’
"Besides, if their families can live without worry, they’ll be more devoted to working for me."
’Why would I ever make a losing deal?’
’Hmm, maybe I should just have Redlight find these people and gather them. Then I can pick them all up at once. That would save me the trouble of using the Golden Celestial Eye to find them one by one.’
’Yep, that’s the plan.’
And so, on Caelus, Redlight, who hadn’t received a message from "Mr. Lynch" in a long time, heard that familiar notification sound and instantly jolted.
Before his brain could even process it, his hand had already opened the private message.
Then, he saw the 99+ notification badge over the designated person’s avatar.
After opening it, he found it was filled with resumes.
Immediately after, another message arrived:
[SoySauceDrunkard: Do me a favor. Find these people and bring them all to Veridian Prime.]
The fact that Moira Lynch was recruiting skilled artisans online was no secret. He had even tried to apply himself; he had learned carpentry from his grandfather as a child and considered his skills to be quite good.
But because he was a player, he didn’t even qualify to apply.
[Redlight: Mr. Lynch, do you need me to arrange a place for them?]
[SoySauceDrunkard: No need. I have other arrangements for them. Just take care of their families. They all have Elf Tree Houses, so you don’t need to find separate accommodations for them.]
[Redlight: Mr. Lynch, have you been busy lately? Also, that person you referred to me before, is he your friend? You guys really are a team.]
For some reason, when Moira Lynch saw this question, she felt a strange twinge of jealousy.
Realizing what she was thinking, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but shiver. ’An illusion. It must be an illusion.’
[SoySauceDrunkard: Busy. Yes. Yes.]
Moira Lynch answered Redlight’s questions with three short words and then ignored him.
Fortunately, Redlight was highly efficient. In less than two days, he had brought everyone over.
When these world-weary people arrived on Veridian Prime for the first time, they were immediately stunned by the sight before them.
Feeling the gentle breeze, which wasn’t bitingly cold but carried a touch of warmth, their eyes filled with emotional tears.
Some couldn’t hold back and broke down, crying in each other’s arms.
For them, it all felt like a dream.
The person in charge of guiding them saw this but didn’t disturb them. After all, when they themselves first set foot in this new world, they had felt much the same.
When they had more or less finished crying, he finally spoke. "The environment here is very similar to the Caelus of the past. Once we get to the base, you’ll be given food and seeds. As long as you don’t try to slack off, you won’t go hungry again. Also, there are many rules here. Others will explain them to you after we reach the base."
After hearing this, the people nodded hastily, indicating that they understood.
