Marvel: Reincarnated as Superman

Chapter 171: Sibling Chaos

Daniel and Susan enjoyed two blissful days living together before they were interrupted by another uninvited guest.

Carol came back from space.

It was a bright, sunny afternoon. Susan happened to have the day off from work, and Daniel, having just returned three days ago, was fully locked and loaded.

They had been apart for over six months, and the time away had only made them miss each other more.

The weather was perfect for doing a little lovemaking under the warm sun. Soaking in the sunlight alongside some proper exercise was pure double enjoyment for Daniel.

Unfortunately, Carol ruined it.

Just as Daniel and Susan were lost in a passionate kiss and getting ready for the next move, Daniel’s sharp senses caught a familiar energy signature coming from outside Earth. Regretfully, he had to let go of Susan.

Daniel knew Carol was back; he was all too familiar with that energy signature. More importantly, she was heading straight for his house.

He was practically dying of annoyance, silently wondering why Carol couldn’t have simply gone back to Smallville, where their parents lived. Yet the moment he saw her again, all that irritation vanished, and a smile spread across his face.

The siblings hadn’t seen each other in over a year, and the girl who once used to steal Daniel’s pocket money had grown into a full adult now.

Carol looked more capable and heroic than ever. Living out in space, helping the weak and fighting the strong, she had developed a sharp and straightforward personality.

Not every woman could command such overwhelming strength and wage war across the galaxy like she did.

Carol’s main opponents in space were the Kree. Even though she was weaker than Daniel, she was still a massive threat to them. With the kind of power she possessed, there was very little the Kree could do to stop her once she decided to go after them.

Even so, she had already driven the Kree ragged, leaving them scrambling just to deal with her.

The Kree Empire had undergone huge changes as well.

Now, there was basically only one voice left in the Kree Empire: Ronan the Accuser.

As for the other dissenters… well, Carol had beaten almost all of them out of existence.

Ronan didn’t even need to use his brain much; he just sent anyone who opposed him off to fight Carol.

With Carol’s strength, blasting through a warship was child’s play.

Maybe she would show mercy the first time, but if that failed, she would do it a second time until you were gone. Then Ronan would just replace you with another one. In a way, Ronan had effortlessly unified the power of the entire Kree Empire.

Even though Carol gave the Kree Empire a massive headache, after Ronan consolidated all their forces, losing a few planets didn’t make them weaker. On the contrary, they were actually stronger.

Before, they were a scattered mess with internal disagreements. Now, their strength was clenched into a single fist. Just look at the Skrulls, even with Carol’s help, rebuilding their homeland remained a distant, hopeless dream.

There was only one Carol, while the Kree had thousands of fleets.

Yon-Rogg had also been doing quite well lately. Ronan gave him a major promotion, likely because he shared a bit of history with Carol. He could practically be considered a Kree hero now. Though he was zero for ten against Carol, the man actually managed to come back completely unscathed every single time.

And he could even bring everyone back with him. That was real capability. With Ronan’s favor and a booming career, Yon-Rogg was in a great mood lately, except for the occasional nightmare, and, that man.

The dark cloud hanging over the Kree Empire.

Ronan had tried every method imaginable, to the point where even the thinkers within the Supreme Intelligence were practically pulling their hair out. Yet they still couldn’t find a single way to deal with him. All they could do was watch as he leaped around the universe, completely powerless to stop him.

They even had to greet him with a smiling face. The Kree had contributed the most to building Daniel’s latest ship. It was thoroughly miserable.

…..

“What brings you back today?” Daniel asked when he saw Carol.

Carol gave Daniel a side-eye and said, “What do you think?”

What a joke. Carol wasn’t stupid.

Christmas was right around the corner. If she didn’t come back, she would be in serious trouble. Last Christmas, she sent a message back saying she was busy and wouldn’t be returning.

As a result, Daniel casually zipped through hundreds of wormholes in a single day, crossed half the galaxy, gave Carol a beatdown right while she was mid-battle with the Kree, and hauled her back by the collar, leaving her with zero dignity.

She still clearly remembered the baffled looks on the Kree soldiers’ faces; they all wanted to laugh but didn’t dare to.

The kicker was that after beating her up, Daniel even casually dropped a line. “Well, it’s Christmas time, so it’s time for a break. Everyone, go home.”

As if the Kree gave a damn about Christmas.

“You’re quite early this year. Not bad,” Daniel said with a smile.

Carol glanced at Daniel, completely ignoring him, and instead dragged Susan aside to chat with a smile.

She didn’t bother arguing with him. To be honest, if she weren’t completely outmatched by Daniel, she would have loved to give him a good beating herself.

The older sister was Captain Marvel, flying across the universe and keeping the peace, while the younger brother spent his days breaking laws and causing trouble wherever he went.

Carol didn’t even want to admit she knew him. She went out of her way to avoid Daniel.

If Daniel was in the Milky Way, she’d head for Andromeda. If he showed up in Andromeda, she’d move on to the Centaurus system. As long as she wasn’t in the same galaxy as him, she was perfectly happy.

The various intelligent species across the universe had suffered enough in silence. Those five years when Daniel ran wild had been nothing short of a nightmare for them.

So, when word finally spread across the galaxy that Daniel was retiring, the celebration was practically universal. It lasted an entire week.

Even the Kree stopped making trouble and gave everyone a break.

That guy was finally retiring!

Carol figured that since Daniel had returned to Earth, staying away until the last possible moment would be a bad idea. If Daniel got bored, wouldn’t he eventually come looking for her?

So, she came home early.

Besides, all the major powers in the universe were still celebrating, and judging by the way things were going, the festivities weren’t going to end anytime soon. Even Thanos was rumored to have spent two straight days drinking in celebration.

With nobody left to deal with, Carol had nothing better to do than go home.

…..

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

Daniel’s expression darkened when Carol completely ignored him and dragged his girlfriend away. He could clearly see the disdain in his sister’s eyes.

The siblings quickly slipped back into their old habit of bickering like they had done countless times before.

Meanwhile, Susan watched them argue with a bright smile on her face.

This was family, wasn’t it?

Annoying each other, putting up with each other, and underneath it all, caring about each other.
