49. Prepare for Another Message
The following day, Rangga chose Tropical Island ⭐⭐ once again. This time, his goal was no longer blueprints. It was Hardwood.
Deep within the tropical forest, Rangga moved with far greater confidence than he had just a few days earlier.
The moment he spotted a Mechanical Compsognathus, he didn't even stop walking.
He drew his Longbow.
Twang!
An Explosive Arrow shot forward.
Thunk!
A split second later...
Boom!
A small explosion instantly obliterated the Mechanical Compsognathus.
The creature never even had the chance to get close before dissolving into light.
Rangga simply picked up the loot and continued walking.
Not long afterward, a Mechanical Oviraptor tried to steal the hardwood he had just chopped down.
Rangga merely smiled.
"Same old habit."
He raised his Longbow again.
Twang!
The explosive arrow struck the Oviraptor.
Boom!
The small explosion blasted its mechanical body into pieces.
The Oviraptor didn't even get the chance to run away.
Throughout the day, the sounds of chopping hardwood and small explosions echoed through the tropical forest. By late afternoon, Rangga's inventory was full once again.
Hardwood. Mechanical materials. Along with several additional blueprints that he immediately stored away.
Afterward, he returned to his boat and sailed home.
The following day, Rangga changed his destination.
Stone Island ⭐⭐.
The moment he arrived, he headed straight toward the area filled with Copper Veins and Sulfur Deposits.
But as usual, a Mechanical Protoceratops was already guarding its territory. The creature snorted loudly before charging straight at him.
This time, however, Rangga didn't roll around like a matador.
Instead, he stood calmly. He pulled one of the Javelins from his back, already fitted with a Melee Explosion Core.
"Come on."
The instant the Protoceratops entered throwing range, Rangga twisted his body and hurled the weapon.
Whoosh!
The Javelin flew straight ahead.
CRASSHK!
The spearhead pierced through the Protoceratops' armored hide. Then, a split second later—
Tssssst!
A stream of high-pressure molten metal erupted from the tip of the spear, punching straight through the steel plating beneath its armor.
The Protoceratops immediately lost its balance. Its massive body collapsed before it could even reach Rangga.
Rangga casually walked over, pulled the Javelin free, and finished the creature with a single thrust to its neck.
"Fast."
He smiled with satisfaction and the rest of the day followed much the same pattern.
Mining Copper Veins. Harvesting Sulfur Deposits. Occasionally dealing with Mechanical Protoceratops.
But now, battles that had once forced him to risk his life ended in mere moments, thanks to his new Longbow and Javelins.
By late afternoon, his inventory was once again filled with ores and mechanical materials.
Rangga boarded his boat and sailed back toward his island.
Back on Earth, over the past two days, it wasn't just Rangga's progress that had captured the world's attention.
On Garuda Nation's national television, a special live news broadcast was airing from the Presidential Palace.
The news anchor spoke in a serious tone.
"Today, the Government of Garuda Nation officially welcomed delegations from Jaguar Green Nation and Golden Lion Nation."
The broadcast shifted to the meeting hall.
President Prabu stood in the center, shaking hands with both heads of state before dozens of reporters.
Camera flashes filled the room and the anchor continued.
"This meeting resulted in a strategic cooperation agreement driven by developments in the Pioneer World."
"Jaguar Green Nation has agreed to share its expertise in metal processing technology and metallurgical industry development to help refine the materials being sent back from the Pioneer World."
The cameras showed the signing ceremony. Then shifted to the next delegation.
"Meanwhile, Golden Lion Nation has proposed expanded trade cooperation by opening wider market access for Garuda Nation's products."
"In addition, Golden Lion Nation has agreed to provide favorable fuel supplies as part of a long-term partnership between the two countries."
Once again, President Prabu was shown shaking hands with the delegates.
Behind them stood a giant screen displaying the livestreams of Garuda Nation's Pioneers.
A reminder that all of these changes had begun in another world.
The news anchor concluded the report.
"The government stated that this cooperation is expected to become the first step toward a new era of international relations in the age of the Pioneers."
"Many observers believe that the resources and technologies brought back by the Pioneers are already reshaping global diplomacy."
The final camera shot captured the three national leaders standing side by side before their respective flags.
Camera flashes filled the room once again.
For the first time since the Pioneer World had appeared, international relations were no longer defined solely by rivalry and political pressure.
They were beginning to give rise to partnerships built upon shared interests.
Inside a bright classroom, Putri sat near the window, carefully taking notes as the teacher explained the lesson.
Occasionally she looked up at the whiteboard before continuing to write in her new notebook.
The school bell rang.
Her classmates immediately rushed out of the room, laughing together.
"Putri, don't forget tomorrow's math homework!"
"Okay."
Putri smiled softly while placing her books into her backpack.
She then left the classroom alongside several classmates who had gradually become her friends.
Not far away stood a residential apartment complex reserved exclusively for Pioneer families.
Several soldiers guarded the entrance, checking every visitor before returning to their posts.
Putri rode the elevator to her floor. As the apartment door opened, a clean and tidy room welcomed her.
A simple sofa sat in the living room. A study desk with a bookshelf occupied one corner. The kitchen had already been stocked with everyday necessities.
Putri placed her school bag on a chair before opening the refrigerator.
Seeing it completely filled with food, she smiled quietly. It still felt unfamiliar.
But little by little, she was beginning to adjust to her new life.
In neighboring apartments, the other Pioneer families were living similar lives.
Fajar's child was studying with a private tutor.
Next door, a mother was preparing dinner for her two children while their father continued surviving in the Pioneer World.
Children's laughter occasionally echoed throughout the apartment hallways.
Although the complex remained under military protection twenty-four hours a day... It no longer felt like a military barracks or a temporary shelter.
Instead, it had slowly become a comfortable neighborhood.
Little by little, the families of the Pioneers were returning to normal life.
They could attend school. Live in proper homes and peacefully wait for the return of their loved ones who were still fighting in the Pioneer World.
That evening, Rangga sat once again before his campfire. In his hands was a bowl of steaming rice alongside several pieces of grilled meat.
He ate slowly while watching the glowing embers dance before him.
The night was peaceful. Only the sound of waves and the occasional crackling firewood broke the silence.
After several bites, Rangga quietly muttered,
"Tomorrow... It'll have been another seven days already."
Tomorrow was the day he had been waiting for. The day another message would arrive from Earth. As he chewed thoughtfully, he wondered,
"What should I tell them?"
There was still so much information.
The desert. The swamp. Rice. Sulfur. Saltpeter. Explosion Cores. Weapon upgrades. Everything felt important.
He scratched his head.
"Hope it all fits."
A moment later, his thoughts drifted toward one person.
Putri.
Rangga stared into the campfire for a while and his expression softened.
"I hope... Putri's doing alright."
He had no idea how his younger sister was living now.
Was she still staying in the military dormitory? Was she getting enough to eat? Did she still cry by herself? Or... Had her life finally started getting better?
Rangga let out a long sigh.
"As long as... She never has to go hungry."
He took another bite of rice before smiling faintly.
"Tomorrow... Hopefully I'll hear some good news."
