GOT: Harry Stark

Chapter 48

Harry returned to the ship and saw his little dragon, which was quite happy to see him, climbing up his body and rubbing its head against him while making little chirps.

Dacey and Val were still in his room, sitting idly as they watched the dragon. When they saw Harry, they greeted him casually.

"How did it behave?" Harry asked, stroking its little head.

"It set part of the bed on fire while it was sleeping," Val said, pointing at the black circle on the bed.

"That explains the smell of smoke," Harry said as he quickly repaired all the damage.

"Is it just me, or did it grow a little?" Harry said, looking at the little black dragon.

"I don't think so. It's only been a few hours," Dacey said, shaking her head.

"Maybe it's because of the milk," Val said jokingly.

Harry rolled his eyes before starting to change for bed.

Neither Dacey nor Val wanted to sleep with him since the little dragon had curled up on his chest. Having seen it release a small burst of flame while sleeping, neither of them wanted to risk it.

Feeling as if he had a small campfire on his chest, Harry slowly fell asleep.

Unlike the dreamless nights he usually had because of his Occlumency, that night he had a dream.

In the dream, a beautiful woman who looked very familiar attacked the North accompanied by dragons and a large army on horseback. She seemed to be riding her dragon as she prepared to fight against him, while Harry watched her from the walls of Winterfell with a serious look, ready to fight.

It was then that a cold sensation seemed to come from behind him, making him wake up.

Opening his eyes, Harry frowned as he sat up in bed.

The little dragon slid down into his lap, barely shifting as it continued sleeping.

A small smile appeared on his face as he stroked its head.

Dreams for wizards weren't just dreams; they could mean something more.

Or at least that was the case in his previous world.

Taking out the small chest with the three eggs, he couldn't help adopting a thoughtful expression.

Whether it was a dream created by his concerns or a future possibility that had been altered by his presence in Pentos, everything seemed to tell him that he couldn't ignore the girl.

Playing with the little dragon's wings, Harry gently stretched them out.

Comparing his memory of the moment it was born with how it looked now, the difference was small but noticeable.

He didn't think it would maintain that pace, though. Maybe it was rapid initial growth so it could survive?

Harry stroked its head and woke it before giving it some wine mixed with chicken blood.

His goal in traveling to Essos was to obtain a dragon egg and buy some ships. Those goals could be considered complete; now he should think about returning.

Of course, with Daenerys's situation, he would wait a little to see what happened, taking the opportunity to relax for a few days and buy gifts for his family.

Of course, someone would have to stay behind to take care of the little dragon.

The three of them took turns for the rest of the day: one stayed behind to take care of it while the other two went shopping.

Harry bought necklaces, dresses, and shoes for his sisters, his mother, and Barbrey.

Val and Dacey also bought similar things for themselves. Even if their interests were different from those of southern ladies, apparently as long as you were a woman, looking beautiful was a basic desire.

At one point they went out alone and came back with things they didn't want to show him, which made him suspect that they had bought rather revealing clothes.

He hoped so.

At night, he left Dacey and Val taking care of the little dragon while he checked on how his friends were doing. They all seemed to be enjoying the pleasures of the city, so he didn't look any further before heading toward Illyrio's mansion.

Knowing where Daenerys's room was, he easily slipped inside without anyone noticing.

He was surprised when he saw her again, since her face didn't look good at all, and not only because of the faint red mark visible on her cheek.

Her gaze also had a touch of melancholy.

His brow furrowed deeply, a hint of coldness entering his gaze. He really felt like finding Daenerys's brother and giving him a beating.

How dare he hit his sister? Knowing the foolish girl in front of him, she had probably only reproached him in a soft voice about her fate.

"It seems your questions weren't appreciated," Harry said after calming down and appearing a few meters away from her.

"Harry," Daenerys said with some surprise as she looked at him. It was then that her eyes filled with tears upon hearing his words.

"Hmm, it seems I really am the payment," Daenerys said, smiling through her tears.

"Silly girl, someone like that doesn't deserve your tears," Harry said, sighing.

"He wasn't always like this. I... I suppose he's suffered a lot. We were wanderers desperate to survive, although he was the one who endured everything for me," Daenerys said, unable to completely blame her brother.

"Come with me, you can live in the North for a while, learn, meet more people besides your brother," Harry said, looking at her.

"My brother..." Daenerys said hesitantly.

"Nothing will happen to him. At worst, Illyrio will throw him out, although most likely he'll find another way to steer him toward the throne," Harry said, rolling his eyes.

"Anyway, he can't sink any lower, if he wants the throne so badly then he can dress as a woman and become the Khal's wife," Harry said mockingly.

"I'll tell you my answer tomorrow," Daenerys said, lowering her voice.

"You still haven't given up," Harry said with a slight smile.

Daenerys didn't answer and only clenched her hands.

"Forget it, suit yourself, I'll come back tomorrow," Harry said, shaking his head before leaving.

Daenerys looked toward the balcony, the cool breeze caressing her face. She still wondered how he did it.

But surely Harry had to be someone very free, able to come and go as he pleased.

Lying down on her bed, Daenerys truly feared the next day, afraid that her brother was completely blinded, willing to sacrifice everything for a small chance of gaining the throne.

There had been a time when she dreamed of marrying her brother, the two of them reclaiming the throne and being happy, but reality couldn't be further from that.

Without realizing it, Daenerys fell asleep. She was awakened only by the rays of sunlight illuminating her face.

Looking toward the balcony, Daenerys didn't feel like getting up, but the maid clearly couldn't know her thoughts and entered the room to help her wash and dress.

Once dressed, Daenerys looked at herself in the mirror, barely noticing the servant leave in the reflection.

Daenerys met her own violet eyes, noticing the fear reflected in them, unable to hide it.

Pressing her lips together, she quickly shook her head, trying to push that feeling aside. She had to face her brother.

It was still early, so she was in no hurry. She gathered her courage in front of the mirror before standing up and walking toward her brother's room.

As she expected, the door was closed. Daenerys remained in front of it for a few seconds before finally reaching out and opening it.

Her brother, who had once wanted to become a great knight like his older brother, had become lazy and indecisive.

The sword he used to carry at his waist was nothing more than an ornament.

Entering his room, she saw him still asleep. She gently shook him awake and was greeted by her brother's frown.

"Daenerys, what do you want?" he asked impatiently after being woken up.

"Brother, didn't you tell me that we would marry and reclaim the throne together? Why do you have to sell me to some savages?" Daenerys asked, her eyes watery, making her beautiful face look truly pitiful.

"If there were another option, maybe, but this is reality," Viserys said without much hesitation. Looking at his sister's beautiful face, a sudden surge of heat took over his body.

"But you said something really clever. If I'm going to hand you over to the savages, why should I give them something as valuable as your virtue?" Viserys said, looking at his sister lustfully as he reached for her dress without hesitation.

Daenerys's eyes widened in disbelief at Viserys's words. She barely reacted until she felt him pulling off her dress.

Hurt, indignant, and furious, Daenerys defended herself for the first time in her life.

Daenerys immediately reached for Viserys's face and, without any mercy, dug her nails into his cheeks.

She knew she was weak. Hitting him wouldn't accomplish anything; this was the only way she could make him back off.

As she expected, Viserys recoiled in pain, immediately releasing her.

In the end, she hadn't dared go for her brother's eyes.

With tears in her eyes, Daenerys took the opportunity to run toward the door.

Viserys quickly recovered and chased after her, knocking her down before she could escape.

Out of his mind, Viserys punched her directly in the face as blow after blow fell on her delicate skin.

Fortunately, Jorah usually stayed near Daenerys, so he was close by. Since the door wasn't closed, he came upon the scene and immediately ran toward Viserys to pull him away.

Even so, the damage had already been done. Daenerys's beautiful face was covered in bruises and blood.

Jorah looked at her in shock, her thin arms still covering her face despite her unconsciousness.

"Let me go! What do you think you're doing?" Viserys said angrily, looking at Jorah.

"What is going on here?" a voice suddenly said, its anger clearly restrained.

"You hit her?" Illyrio asked in disbelief, looking at Daenerys on the floor.

"Look what she did to my face," Viserys said furiously as he tried to free himself from Jorah, blood now running from the eight scratches on his cheeks and making him look terrifying.

"Do you think Khal Drogo will be happy to receive a beaten woman?" Illyrio asked, his face trembling with anger, though there was no one he could really take his anger out on.

"He isn't a very patient man. Now how am I going to explain to him that the wedding will have to be delayed?" Illyrio said, looking at Viserys and noticing that he was regaining some of his composure.

"Quickly, take her to her room and call a healer," Illyrio said to a pair of maids, who picked Daenerys up and carried her away.

Illyrio opened his mouth, wanting to say more to Viserys, but eventually calmed down. It wasn't worth it.

He was just a disposable pawn.

Furious, Viserys managed to free himself from Jorah as he cradled his face in pain. This definitely wouldn't end here.

His little Daenerys had really dared to attack him. He glared furiously in the direction they had taken her.

....

In her room, Daenerys spent the entire day unconscious.

Her face was covered with medicinal ointments and, without her knowing it, two guards stood watch outside her room.

Illyrio really didn't dare take any chances. Targaryen madness truly seemed to be real.

This was what Harry found when he arrived in Daenerys's room.

Harry's expression turned cold when he saw Daenerys's injured face. He had no doubt that her brother had done it; no one else would dare lay a hand on her.

He wasn't angry because he was particularly attached to Daenerys. He simply couldn't imagine how someone could be so cruel to his younger sister.

Harry really wanted to pay Daenerys's brother a visit, but he quickly used his Occlumency to calm himself and think about the possible consequences.

He hadn't forgotten what he had done in Braavos. If he suddenly appeared and beat Viserys up, he could vent his anger, but he would be leaving traces that could lead back to him.

In fact, Daenerys's disappearance, combined with Harry's stay in Pentos, would already raise some suspicion for anyone investigating his movements.

Looking toward the curtains, Harry tore them down before tying them together and throwing them over the balcony. He would leave signs of Daenerys's escape so it wouldn't seem as if she had literally disappeared.

With that done, Harry couldn't help sighing as he looked at her. Her face was really in bad shape.

Harry cleaned the ointments from her face before using magic to heal her. Gently holding her jaw, he opened her small lips and slowly poured a potion into her mouth to help her recover.

Looking at her pristine face, Harry reached out and scooped her up in his arms like a princess before carrying her away.

First a slap, now a beating. He really didn't want to find out what came next, so for now he would simply take her with him.

After climbing nimbly down from the palace, he quickly ran toward the ship under Disillusionment.

When he entered his room, Dacey and Val were left speechless at the sight of him carrying a beautiful girl.

Harry paid them no attention and laid her on his bed, casually covering her with a blanket.

"Is she a prostitute from Lys? She has Valyrian features," Dacey said thoughtfully, with a hand on her chin.

"Maybe, but she's quite beautiful. You have good taste," Val said, giving Harry a thumbs-up.

"Her brother abused her, so I asked if she wanted to come with me. She hesitated and wanted to confront her brother one last time. When I found her, her face was covered in bruises," Harry said, calmer about it now.

"Oh, I thought you liked tough women like us," Dacey said with a smile as she wrapped an arm around Val's neck and pressed their faces together.

Val rolled her eyes and pushed her away with one hand.

"She may be tougher than you think. Look at her nails," Harry said, lifting one of Daenerys's hands. There was still some dried blood beneath them.

"Looks like her brother didn't get away unscathed either," Harry said, chuckling. For a moment, he thought about getting rid of him, but in the end, living could be harder than simply dying.

Besides, the human mind was truly complex. Even if Daenerys said she hated him, she would feel uncomfortable if Harry killed him.

She was a child, after all.

"We'll leave first thing tomorrow morning, before they realize she's gone," Harry said as he imagined the chaos that would follow.

"Is she that important?" Val asked curiously.

"Something like that," Harry said with a slight smile.

"Everywhere we go, we end up running away. First you robbed a bank, and now you've stolen a woman. Do your hands itch if you don't steal something?" Dacey said with an amused look.

"Don't forget that he kidnapped me too, separating me from my beloved sister," Val said with a feigned expression of sadness.

Both of them laughed at him for a while before their conversation shifted to other topics.

Harry simply leaned back lazily while the little dragon purred softly as he stroked it.
