I’m an Amnesiac Adventurer (And I want to make my friends’ dreams come true!)

Betrayal (End of Book 4)

Waking up I feel really warm and fuzzy inside. Cuddling up to Sher Aka I rub my face on hers, it feels scruffy.

“Huh?”

Opening my eyes, instead of Sher Aka, I see papa right next to me.

In shock, I jump out of bed, “Wh-Why are you here!?”

“Because I couldn’t have you imprint on that dirty Elf.”

“Wh-what?”

“Now we’re truly inseparable my dear.”

“N-no. Y-you didn’t…”

“But I did. I went into your room, knocked her out and brought you back to Blaze all under the cover of night so your mama wouldn’t stop me.”

“Wait…So this is…”

“A small servants' room next to the laundry department of our castle. I made sure to get used beddings from my wife’s room so you would imprint on her as well without her knowledge. She would have never allowed me to force this on you otherwise afterall. A genius plan don’t you think?”

My heart is beating extremely fast. I feel like I’m about to vomit as under my breath I whisper, “You’re a monster.”

“Then I guess you must be a monster too since you're my daughter. From today on, we are family for the rest of your life, whether you want to or not.”

“N-no. Nonononononononono. No! WHY!? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!?”

“Mostly on a whim, really. You see I never got the glory I always wanted on the battlefield back when I was still a knight, so I thought as my daughter if you’re going to be a famous adventurer you’ll fulfill that dream for me. Even if I had preferred you to have done so by becoming a knight. If it wasn’t for that damn affliction of yours I would have done this even earlier but there really isn’t a use to you when you’re going to die from demons.”

“So all of this was an act? Everything you said before was a lie to do this!?”

“Well, not quite. I do really love Scarlet afterall. Sadly she takes after her mother in naivety, neither of them know what kind of person I really am after all, so you have the privilege to be the first to find out. Aren’t you lucky~”

“Y-you really are rotten to the core…”

Slicking back his hair he glares at me and answers,“Why thank you, I appreciate the compliment, muhahaha.”

He’s completely crazy…I need to get out of here. Looking around, the door seems unguarded but it’s probably a trap, if I want to get out of here I need to take my chances with the window.

—---------------------------------------------------

About three hours earlier.

Taking Rose, who has just a few minutes ago turned back into her cursed form, down to the laundry department, the King briefs some servants on the way, “Alright, you all know the plan but let’s go through it one last time. Isabella, you’ll be her nanny so your job is to wait outside the door for her to bump into once she eventually runs away. Make sure to be on her side but also pretend like you don’t know her.”

“Understood.”

“Giancarlo, you brief every servant on this floor to pretend like they don’t know her but also be kind. They should all act like they’re afraid of me because they know my secret evil side.

Letting out a sigh, Giancarlo answers, “I will do my best but the servants aren’t professional actors.”

“It’s fine. I’m not a great actor either but she’s just a kid. She won’t know as long as you don’t make it too obvious.”

“Understood.”

“Isabella, once everything is done you need to ‘secretly’ get her to my wife.”

“Understood, we already prepared some servants' clothes for her to disguise herself with.”

“Perfect. Does anyone have any questions?”

Isabella raises her hand, “What do we do if she flies out of the window?”

“She doesn’t have her wings in this cursed form and we’re two floors above ground. It won’t be an option.”

“Understood.”

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------

“Minor boost defense, moderate boost endurance, moderate boost speed, moderate boost strength.”

Glowing in different colors I quickly burst through the window. Looking down, this might have been a mistake. We’re easily fifty meters above ground, if I don’t use Uli’s technique correctly I might die from the fall. Taking a deep breath I put my head towards my chest and my arm forward protectively, when I hit the grass I can instantly tell that the bones in my arms are shattered as I continue to roll forward protecting my head and neck at all times. When I come to a stop there is screaming as some of the servants see me. Trying to stand up I realize that I probably broke one of my feet and there is bone protruding out of my arm. Pushing through the pain I try to keep running. The pain on my foot is so immense that I barely feel the pain from my broken arm. Unfortunately I don’t get far as the shadows of multiple dragons above me surround me.

“Xxx xxx xxx!”

I have nowhere to run to now.

“Sally, you need to run. I will probably die here.”

Shaking their head, Sally puts their foot on my face.

“Don’t be ridiculous! You need to go!”

Shaking their head again they get close to my face and rub their cheek on mine.

Tears flowing down my face I say, “Please leave…Save yourself.”

There is no reaction from Sally so I sit down on the ground, blood dripping from my arm, “So you want to die with me?”

Shaking their head again they pet my cheek with their foot.

“Are you trying to say it will be alright?”

Sally nods their head.

“Hahaha, thank you Sally but I don’t think it will be.”

From the dragons still circling above me, three of them descend, turn into their polymorphed form and point their weapons at me.

“Xxx are you!? Xxx xxx!”

Putting up my one healthy arm I answer, “Sorry I don’t understand you.”

They seem a bit confused at my answer and talk to each other but I don’t understand anything they say.

ROAR!!!

A new shadow now appears in the sky shortly before a big blood red dragon that resembles Scarlet lands on the ground. It then transforms into its polymorphed form and turns into-

“Mama?”

Running towards me she gives me a hug and says, “The doctor will be here soon, Rose. It’s going to be alright.”

“How…How did you know I was here?”

“A maid just told me everything. I’m so sorry Rose for everything my husband did to you! But you’re safe now. I’ll protect you from him.”

I’m not sure if it’s because of my imprint or because I trust her but somehow it feels like everything will be alright if she’s around. Resting my chin on her shoulder I let out a sigh of relief and pass out.
