Just One Orgasm!

Chapter 110.

Saturday morning came quietly.

The sunlight slipped through the windows of Emilia’s dorm room, spreading across the floor and the neatly arranged furniture.

Emilia stood in front of her open wardrobe, pulling clothes from one side and putting them back on the other.

She had already changed twice.

Neither outfit felt right.

Rowan sat on the edge of her bed, watching her without saying anything.

Her newly dyed hair fell over her shoulders in dark waves, the deep ruby-red strands standing out against the black and brunette base. The color was richer than the green she had worn for so long, but Rowan still hadn’t completely gotten used to seeing herself that way.

She ran her fingers through one of the red strands.

Emilia glanced at her through the mirror. "Are you sure this looks okay?"

Rowan looked at her reflection. "Yes."

Emilia looked back at the clothes in her hands. She held up a black blouse. "What about this?"

Rowan barely glanced at it. "Fine."

Emilia frowned. "You don’t sound convinced."

Rowan looked away.

The room fell silent again.

Adrian had called earlier that morning. He had asked Rowan to drive Emilia to his penthouse whenever she was ready.

Rowan had simply agreed.

Now Emilia was taking longer than necessary to decide what to wear.

She finally pulled a cream-colored sweater from the wardrobe and held it against herself.

"This?"

Rowan looked at her. "That’s better."

Emilia smiled. "Finally."

Rowan didn’t respond.

Emilia put the sweater on. She moved toward the mirror and adjusted the sleeves before reaching for her bag.

"Ready."

Rowan stood. She picked up her keys from her nightstand. "Let’s go."

They walked out together.

Neither of them spoke as they made their way through the hallway.

The dorm was unusually quiet for a Saturday morning. Most of the students were still asleep, while others had already left for breakfast or weekend activities.

Rowan unlocked her car.

Emilia climbed into the passenger seat.

Rowan got behind the wheel, and the engine started.

Neither of them spoke as the car rode on. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable for Rowan. She preferred it.

She kept both hands on the steering wheel as she drove, with her eyes focused on the road ahead.

Emilia stared out of the window. For several minutes, she said nothing. The city passed around them while Rowan remained quiet.

Emilia glanced at her, then looked away.

A few minutes later, she glanced again. This time, Rowan noticed. She didn’t turn her head, but she asked.

"Something?"

Emilia shook her head. "No."

Rowan continued driving.

Emilia looked at her hair again.

The red strands caught the sunlight whenever Rowan passed beneath the gaps between the buildings.

It was different.

Rowan had always had something striking about her appearance, but the red made her look sharper somehow, and more deliberate.

Emilia hesitated. Finally, she parted her lips. "The red looks nice."

Rowan glanced at her briefly. "Thanks." Her response was short, and dry.

Emilia nodded, and the silence returned.

Rowan focused on the road.

Emilia looked outside again. She had expected Rowan to say more, but Rowan didn’t.

Their relationship had always been complicated.

They were roommates. They had shared a dorm room, but there was always a line between them.

A line Emilia had never quite known how to cross. And lately, that line had become more obvious.

Because of Adrian.

Emilia could feel the distance, and the restraint. The way Rowan sometimes became quiet whenever Adrian came up.

It wasn’t hatred.

It was something colder. Indifference.

At least, that was what Emilia sometimes thought. The car turned onto a quieter road, and the buildings became larger.

The traffic thinned.

Emilia watched Rowan’s hands on the steering wheel. She noticed the faint scar on one of her knuckles. She had seen it countless times.

But today, she found herself wondering how much she really knew about the woman sitting beside her.

Emilia shifted slightly in her seat. "Rowan?"

"Hm?"

"Can I ask you something?"

Rowan’s eyes remained on the road. "Sure."

Emilia hesitated. "If my relationship with Adrian ends..."

Rowan’s fingers remained steady on the steering wheel.

Emilia continued. "Would we become better roommates?"

There was a brief silence.

Rowan didn’t look at her. "Sure."

Emilia blinked. That was all? She stared at Rowan.

"That’s it?"

"What do you want me to say?"

Emilia gave a small shrug. "I don’t know."

Rowan finally glanced at her. "You asked if we’d become better roommates. And I said yes."

Emilia looked down at her hands. "I’m not chasing your feelings towards me, but why don’t you like me?"

Rowan’s eyes remained on the road. She was quiet for several seconds. "I didn’t say I don’t like you."

"You don’t have to say it."

Rowan’s jaw tightened slightly.

Emilia watched her. "I can tell."

Rowan exhaled. "You and Adrian are complicated."

Emilia looked at her. "Is that your way of saying you don’t approve?"

"It’s my way of saying you’re both adults."

"That’s not an answer."

"It’s the only one you’re getting."

Emilia nodded. "Okay."

The car became quiet again.

Rowan drove through the gates of Adrian’s property. The security barrier lifted immediately at the sight of her plate number.

She drove along the private driveway toward the enormous penthouse building.

Emilia stared through the window.

She had been here countless times. But somehow, every visit still made her feel as though she was entering someone else’s world.

Rowan pulled into the underground garage.

She parked.

The engine remained running for a few seconds.

Neither woman moved.

Emilia looked toward Rowan. "Thank you for bringing me."

Rowan nodded. "You’re welcome."

Emilia reached for the door handle, then stopped. She looked back. "Rowan."

"Hm?" Rowan finally turned toward her.

Emilia’s expression was sincere.

Rowan stared at her.

"I know you probably think I make everything more complicated than it needs to be."

Rowan’s expression didn’t change. "I don’t."

Emilia gave a faint smile. "Then I hope we can go back to being better roommates. Also, I never really thanked you for helping me with Noah."

Rowan looked at her for a long moment. "I didn’t help you with anyone." She shrugged. "I simply arrived at the right moment."

Emilia’s smile faded slightly. "Okay."

She opened the door.

Before stepping out, she looked back once more.

"See you later."

Rowan nodded. "See you."

Emilia climbed out and closed the door.

Rowan watched her walk toward the front door. She didn’t move until Emilia disappeared behind the glass doors.

Then she looked straight ahead. Her hand tightened slightly around the steering wheel.
