Chapter 320: Throwing a Tantrum
Besides, from her perspective, while Chu Feng was incredibly powerful, he didn’t seem all that bright.
"That’s right. Why wouldn’t I trade? Were you just messing with me?" Chu Feng asked.
"Is there something wrong with your head? The Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique is priceless! Countless people would kill for it, and you’re just going to trade it away?" Bai Xue said.
"I think there’s something wrong with *your* head. I’ve already learned the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique, so why shouldn’t I trade it?" Chu Feng said.
"Aren’t you worried that when other people find out and learn it, they’ll come looking for trouble?" Bai Xue asked.
Chu Feng burst out laughing at her words.
"Do you think I’d be scared? If other people want to learn it, let them. As long as they have something to trade, I’ll trade with them. So what if they learn it? They still won’t be able to beat me," Chu Feng said with great confidence.
He truly wasn’t worried about that at all.
He was currently at the Mid-stage Core Formation Realm. Besides, he had plenty of Merit and Spirit Stones, so advancing his cultivation would actually be quite easy.
These were his advantages. Ordinary Cultivators found it incredibly difficult to absorb the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.
This was especially true in the current Dharma Decline Era, where Spiritual Qi was so scarce it was practically gone. It could only be found on a few famous mountains or deep within remote mountain ranges.
This was also the reason why many Martial Arts Families and Martial Arts Sects had gone into seclusion.
"Are you really that confident? I admit you’re powerful, and my master is no match for you, but in a place as vast as Huaxia, there’s always someone stronger," Bai Xue said.
"I won’t argue with that," Chu Feng said, "but I just happen to like collecting all kinds of Sword Techniques."
"You don’t have to use the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique. You could use other Sword Techniques from the Chu Family, like the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique," Bai Xue said.
"I don’t think I have the authority for that yet," Chu Feng said. "But it’s not out of the question. It’s just a Sword Skill. A trade’s a trade."
’Actually, he knew perfectly well that the Sword Techniques of the Chu Family were, frankly, no match for the Celestial Sword Technique.’
’Besides, Chu Feng was sure that if he could trade the Chu Family’s Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique for the Celestial Sword Technique, those old geezers, Chu Tianshan and Chu Wuji, would laugh themselves to death.’
"Is there something seriously wrong with your master? Wailing like that in the middle of the night is just creepy." Chu Feng looked toward the tomb of the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor, completely bewildered.
The old woman was relentlessly swinging her longsword, hacking away at who-knows-what. It was obvious she was furious.
"That’s because after my master’s mother became pregnant with the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor’s child, he disappeared," Bai Xue explained with a sigh. "She could never find him again. Who would have guessed he was hiding here? How could anyone have found him?"
"Afterward, our Celestial Sword Sect searched for decades, but there was never any news of the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor. That’s when the legends about him started to fade away."
Chu Feng fell silent upon hearing Bai Xue’s story.
And so it went, until the sky began to lighten with the coming dawn.
The old woman—the Sect Leader of the Celestial Sword Sect—was still in a crazed frenzy.
It was the dead of winter, and by the time the sky began to brighten, it was already past seven in the morning.
Chu Feng was getting anxious to head back. After all, it was his wedding night, and he’d been gone the entire time. Someone was bound to be worried.
"How much longer is this going to take? I need to get back," Chu Feng said, annoyed. He had already spent the entire night here with the two of them.
As he approached the old woman, he saw that the entire area was in shambles.
In a single night, she had chopped down countless trees, and even some boulders had been shattered to pieces.
"Feeling better now? It’s already dawn. Why don’t we head back?" Although Chu Feng was annoyed, he kept his tone polite.
After all, he still hadn’t gotten his hands on the Celestial Sword Technique he wanted to learn.
"No! Why would you do this to me! Why would you do this to my mother! Why did you abandon us!" the old woman shrieked, her face a mask of madness as she continued to curse at the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor’s tomb.
"It’s no use asking a dead man’s tomb. No one can answer you. It’s already morning; we should go back," Chu Feng said.
"Men are bastards! All the bastards in this world are the same! They should all be slaughtered! Especially the ones who abandon their wives and daughters!" The old woman’s face was twisted with fury as she unleashed several more slashes with her sword.
Terrifying Sword Qi struck the ground, sending huge sprays of dirt and soil flying.
"Now that’s going too far. There are plenty of good men in the world—like me, for example," Chu Feng said, while simultaneously deflecting several streams of Sword Qi aimed at the tomb. "Besides, the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor might not have even known your mother was pregnant with you. If he had, I’m sure he wouldn’t have abandoned you both."
"You received that bastard’s inheritance, so you can’t be any good either! You’ll probably end up just like that old heartbreaker!" the old woman snarled, glaring at Chu Feng.
Her words finally pushed Chu Feng past his limit.
’What was that all about? Here I am trying to talk her down, and she starts cursing me out too?’
"Don’t you take this too far! I’ve let you throw a tantrum all night, and it’s still not enough for you? The path of the Martial Dao is not an easy one. Besides, they were separated by thousands of miles back then! You of all people should know how difficult it would have been for them to meet again. You’re hundreds of years old—can’t you even understand something that simple?"
