Chapter 306: Grand Wedding
"Madman, are you for real?" Someone’s eyes lit up when he heard this, and he asked excitedly.
This guy had wanted to quit his job for a long time. In fact, he’d already resigned before coming home.
Before this, he had been worried about whether he could find a better job in the new year.
Now, Chu Feng’s words had given him all the confidence he needed.
"Of course it’s true," Chu Feng said with a smile. "Arranging jobs is the easy part. As long as you all behave, don’t cause trouble, and work hard, getting you some minor positions is no problem at all. When it’s time for me to go pick up the bride, you all have to come. I’ll definitely give every one of you a huge red envelope!"
Hearing this, everyone cheered, their faces beaming with excited smiles.
Who wouldn’t be thrilled? They were getting to hitch their wagon to Chu Feng.
"Madman, you can rest assured! I’ll guarantee it right here. Us brothers will absolutely behave ourselves at work. We won’t go around pulling strings or name-dropping. We know the rules. If anyone doesn’t get it, I’ll be the first to straighten him out and tell him to scram."
"Yeah, that’s right! Since we’re rolling with you, Brother Chu, we’ll definitely have your back. We absolutely won’t make things difficult for you."
The guys were all fired up, eagerly making their guarantees.
"It’s fine. You should all come. It’s better to have our own people at the factory anyway, and I trust you guys more," Chu Feng said, his tone turning serious. "But let me give you a fair warning: if anyone messes around or abuses their position because of their connection to me, I won’t go easy on them."
Everyone nodded eagerly, like chickens pecking at grain.
In reality, it wasn’t hard for Chu Feng to arrange these jobs for them. Paying them a slightly higher salary was also a trivial matter.
His main concern was that some of them, once they had this connection to him, would start to act with impunity and disrupt the company’s operations. The consequences of that would be disastrous.
A lot of factories out there were like that. As soon as one person made it big, a flood of friends, relatives, and all sorts of connections from their village would come looking for a piece of the pie.
Many of these people had no education and no common sense; they just relied on their connections to wreak havoc.
They’d curse out anyone who rubbed them the wrong way, provoking countless employees to curse their entire family tree behind their backs.
Some, in particular, would abuse their authority to dock employees’ pay or even fire them on a whim. That kind of behavior would only send the entire company spiraling toward bankruptcy.
During this time, the entire county town saw a sudden influx of outside vehicles and people.
Coupled with the fact that it was the New Year, this instantly stimulated the entire county’s economy.
Because these outsiders were all major clients—big spenders who would casually place orders worth millions, or even tens of millions.
Some of the county’s 4S dealerships for high-end car brands were even completely cleared out.
All the luxury cars in stock priced over a million yuan were rented.
"Oh, by the way, Brother Chu, I still haven’t seen what our sister-in-law looks like. I didn’t even come home for the New Year last year, so I missed out."
"Yeah, let us see! None of us have seen her. Even a photo would be great."
"Well, that’s what you get for not coming back last year," one guy bragged. "I saw her, and let me tell you, our sister-in-law looks just like a Celestial Immortal. Drop-dead gorgeous."
Hearing this guy, everyone turned to him with curious gazes, then shifted their even more curious eyes toward Chu Feng.
"Come on, Brother Chu, let us see," they all pleaded, their eyes full of anticipation.
Chu Feng didn’t know how to refuse at that moment. He scratched his head and said, "I don’t think we’ve ever taken a picture together."
"What? You’ve never taken a picture? I don’t believe you."
"Yeah, me neither. Don’t tell me you’re just too possessive to let us see her, Brother Chu."
"Duh! If you had such a beautiful wife, would you be willing to just show her to everyone? You’d have to hide her away like a precious treasure, wouldn’t you?"
"Pfft, not me. If I could marry a goddess as beautiful as our sister-in-law, I’d parade her around the village every single day."
"What do you think she is, a dog you can walk?" one of them shot back, rolling his eyes.
They all started talking at once, arguing back and forth endlessly.
By this time, Su Miaoke had already left, picked up by Jiang Tao. They had just missed each other, which was why the friends hadn’t seen her.
"Alright, alright, stop arguing," Chu Feng said with a laugh. "When the time comes, you’ll all be with me for the wedding procession. You’ll get to see her then."
「Soon, the day arrived.」
Jiang Tao came over personally, bringing Chu Feng a set of traditional Chinese wedding attire. One look at the style was enough to know that it was impossibly expensive.
"Whoa, this is dazzling. Why does it look like an emperor’s dragon robe?" Chu Feng’s eyes widened as he spoke with surprised curiosity.
"Heh heh, my friend, I won’t lie to you. I tracked down a hundred of the country’s top artisans and had them rush this order. Normally, a set of clothes like this would take at least half a year to make," Jiang Tao told Chu Feng.
"Half a year? And you managed to get it done in half a month?" Chu Feng asked.
"That’s right. We used a lot of modern techniques, too. Otherwise, if it were purely traditional methods, there’s no way it could be done in half a month. But your wedding date is so close, there was no other way. I looked at other, previously made outfits, but I didn’t think any of them were worthy of your status, my friend," Jiang Tao said with a smile.
