Chapter 304: Blood Feud
"Sect Leader, I’ve heard that the Chu Family’s Young Master, Chu Feng, is only in his late twenties but has already reached the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm!" the man continued.
"A Human Martial Arts Peak Realm expert under thirty? How is that possible? But since this young man is the successor to the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor, I must find him," the old woman said.
"Huh? Sect Leader, why are you looking for this young man? Do we have some sort of feud with the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor?" the man asked, confused.
"Of course. It’s an irreconcilable feud. That bastard, the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor, may be dead, but as long as he has a successor, we must eliminate him."
"Because back then, that bastard slaughtered more than ten of our Celestial Sword Sect’s Human Martial Arts Peak Realm experts! He even abducted our Celestial Sword Sect’s heir! This debt of hatred must be repaid!" the old woman said.
Although this had happened many years ago, she still remembered it vividly. She had only been a few years old back then.
The entire Celestial Sword Sect had been littered with corpses, all of them defeated and slain by the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor.
And so, from that day forward, the Celestial Sword Sect and the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor shared an irreconcilable hatred.
This hatred was carved into her very heart—a shame that belonged to the entire Celestial Sword Sect.
The old woman had lived for more than two hundred years. She was quite old and probably didn’t have many years left.
She had already given up hope, having spent her entire life searching for any news of the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor without success.
But now, just as she was nearing the end of her life, she had heard this news. How could she not be overjoyed?
"Sect Leader, our sources say that young man is incredibly strong. Even the Gang Leader of the Qing Gang couldn’t withstand a single one of his sword strikes!" the man continued.
"I don’t care how strong he is. He must be found, and he must die. I will handle this myself!" the old woman declared.
"Sect Leader, please reconsider! The Chu Family now has two Human Martial Arts Peak Realm experts. If we clash with them head-on, it won’t be worth it for us," the man pleaded.
"Shut up! I don’t care what you all think! I *will* kill the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor’s successor. And not only will I kill his successor, but I will also find his bones and grind them to dust! I’ll dig up his grave! Now go and get me Bai Xue!" the old woman roared domineeringly.
"Yes, Sect Leader." The man didn’t dare say another word. His Sect Leader was furious; speaking again would only get him beaten.
The old woman sat in her seat, her gaze fixed on the entrance to the grand hall.
Before long, a woman dressed in a snow-white robe walked in.
She carried a slender sword, her steps were light, and her features were exquisitely beautiful. She looked like a celestial fairy who had descended to the mortal world, utterly captivating.
"Bai Xue greets you, Master." The woman named Bai Xue bowed to the Sect Leader of the Celestial Sword Sect.
"Bai Xue, how has your Cultivation been recently?" The moment the old woman saw Bai Xue, a smile spread across her face.
"Master, you can rest assured. My Cultivation has been going very smoothly. I’ve already broken through to the Late-stage Qi Cultivation Realm." Bai Xue’s face was full of confidence as she spoke.
To have reached this realm of Cultivation at her age was a sign of extraordinary talent.
"Good. Very good. Your master is very pleased. However, I am planning to leave the mountain for a trip to Xixiang soon. Would you like to come with me? Think of it as a trial to temper yourself. What do you say?" the old woman asked with a smile.
She was extremely satisfied with her disciple and had high expectations for her, believing that Bai Xue could one day take her place.
"I would be honored, Master. I couldn’t ask for more," Bai Xue replied.
"But, Master, didn’t you say before that I couldn’t leave the Sect until I reached the Foundation Establishment Realm?" Bai Xue asked, a hint of confusion on her face.
In truth, she had long wanted to go out. She had been in the Sect for over twenty years without ever leaving and yearned to see the outside world.
After all, someone like her, who had been raised from childhood as the heir to the entire Sect, had spent most of her years doing nothing but Cultivation and combat.
She’d never had a single chance to go out, to eat, drink, have fun, and see what the world was really like.
In reality, the story about the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor abducting the Celestial Sword Sect’s heir was not the whole truth. The greater reason was that the heir had fallen in love with the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor.
She had left the Celestial Sword Sect willingly to be with him, but the Sect had been against it from the beginning, even driving their own heir to suicide.
That was why the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor had come to blows with the Celestial Sword Sect and bathed them in blood.
At the time, the entire Celestial Sword Sect had been virtually powerless to resist.
In that era, the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor was practically invincible. No one was his match.
And no one could survive a strike from his sword.
And so, after all that, the Celestial Sword Sect came to hate the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor to the very bone.
"It’s just that something has come up suddenly, and I have to make a trip over there. I figured I would bring you along to let you see the outside world. It will be a great help to your breakthrough as well. Besides, your master doesn’t have much time left," the old woman said.
