Chapter 238: Preparing to Return Home
"Alright, Mom, you don’t have to worry. I’ll make the arrangements right now. We’ll definitely be able to leave tomorrow morning," Chu Feng said with a smile.
Then, right in front of his mother-in-law, Chu Feng dialed the private jet captain’s number.
"Captain Hong, we’re planning to head back tomorrow morning. Could you please make the arrangements? Sometime between ten and eleven o’clock," Chu Feng said.
"Of course, Mr. Chu. There’s a flight path available at ten-thirty tomorrow morning. If that time works for you, I’ll go ahead and file for it," Captain Hong’s voice came from the other end of the line.
Chu Feng glanced at his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
He saw them both nodding eagerly.
They were desperate to go back and didn’t want to stay here a moment longer.
"Alright, then I’ll leave the arrangements to you, Captain Hong. We’ll be there on time tomorrow," Chu Feng said.
Then he hung up the phone.
"Good, that’s great! We can finally go back." Chu Feng’s mother-in-law let out a sigh of relief, the weight on her mind finally easing.
After chatting for a few more minutes, the family members all returned to their own rooms.
Lying in bed, Chu Feng thought back on the recent fight. It had gone pretty much as he’d expected.
However, the sheer sharpness of the Heaven-Slaying Sword had surpassed his expectations.
He never imagined the Heaven-Slaying Sword could be so sharp. A single swing could cleave a pickup truck right in two.
Su Miaoke hugged Chu Feng and whispered in his ear, "Thank you, honey."
"What are you thanking me for? We’re family," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"You saved my father again. It’s happened so many times now," Su Miaoke said, feeling as though she owed him too much.
"What? Am I not your husband? Aren’t we family? Isn’t this what I’m supposed to do?" Chu Feng asked, looking at Su Miaoke.
Su Miaoke was about to say something else, but Chu Feng cut her off.
"Alright, don’t overthink it. Let’s get some sleep. We can go home tomorrow," Chu Feng said, pulling Su Miaoke into his arms.
"Okay." Su Miaoke smiled softly and kissed his cheek.
That night, they both slept soundly.
Especially Su Miaoke. Ever since she found out her father was in trouble, she had been a nervous wreck and had cried more than a few times.
So, she was completely exhausted and slept straight through until the next morning.
The next morning, when Chu Feng and Su Miaoke came downstairs, they found her mother already making breakfast, while her father was on the phone discussing business matters.
They were both busy, just with different things.
"Dad, why are you up so early?" Chu Feng was a bit surprised, because it wasn’t even seven o’clock yet.
"Ah, Chu Feng, you’re awake?" Su Linsheng’s face lit up when he saw him. He couldn’t be more pleased with his son-in-law.
"Yeah. Dad, are you handling company business this early? Isn’t it settled yet? By the way, I forgot to tell you yesterday—you don’t have to worry about those criminals here anymore. They won’t be coming to bother you again," Chu Feng said.
"Now that you mention it, I was just about to ask you about that. I got a call from our HR department first thing this morning. They said the largest local crime syndicate wants to partner with us. They claim they can protect our company’s operations and our shipping," Su Linsheng said.
"I know about that. But Dad, don’t get too close to them. Keep your interactions to a minimum," Chu Feng advised.
’After all, these guys are part of a criminal syndicate. While they might be offering protection for the time being, who knows what would happen in the long run.’
’Besides, there’s no telling how long a syndicate like that will even be around.’
’If they get taken down, what happens if the company gets dragged into it?’
"I understand. Chu Feng, don’t tell me you went looking for them last night? That guy was the one who kidnapped me," Su Linsheng asked.
He was incredibly curious and shocked. He never expected Chu Feng to be so capable, able to handle even these kinds of matters abroad.
It was just like in Beihai, where many people assumed he, Su Linsheng, was close to Zhao Liu, and that was why the Su Group had grown so rapidly.
But that wasn’t true at all. It was all thanks to Chu Feng. Without him, he would never have been able to build a relationship with someone of Zhao Liu’s stature.
He might have known Zhao Liu, but getting that kind of support from him would have been impossible on his own.
Moreover, his ability to meet and befriend top tycoons like Jiang Tao was also entirely thanks to Chu Feng. Without Chu Feng, who would have paid him any mind?
"Yeah, I did go see them yesterday. But don’t worry, Dad. They won’t threaten our company here anymore. But you should still try to come here as little as possible in the future. It’s too chaotic here," Chu Feng said.
"Really?" Su Miaoke, who was listening from the side, was also surprised.
"Of course," Chu Feng said.
’As for the crime syndicate that kidnapped his father-in-law, Chu Feng was confident they wouldn’t dare make a reckless move now.’
’After all, he had thoroughly intimidated them last night. If they dared to cause trouble again, Chu Feng wouldn’t hold back. He’d eliminate every last one of them.’
"Wonderful! That’s fantastic! This is all thanks to you, Chu Feng. From now on, the Su Family’s business here will face no obstacles," Su Linsheng exclaimed, overjoyed.
He was so excited that he pulled Chu Feng into a hug, coming just short of planting a big kiss on his cheek.
Seeing his father-in-law getting so emotional, Chu Feng gently pushed him back.
"Dad, there’s no need for all that. We’re family. Anyway, have you sorted everything out here?" Chu Feng said.
"It’s all taken care of. I won’t have to manage it from afar. There are people here to handle things," Su Linsheng said.
"Alright then, let’s eat. Mom just finished making breakfast. We can head to the airport right after we’re done. The timing should be perfect," Chu Feng said.
During breakfast, Chu Feng contacted the captain again to confirm the departure time.
This was mainly because his mother-in-law was still a bit anxious, and Chu Feng felt he had to ask again just to put her mind at ease.
Only after receiving a firm confirmation did his mother-in-law finally relax.
"Chu Feng, is this Sixth Master Zhao’s private jet he lent you? I’ve heard the interior is incredibly luxurious. I’ve never flown in one before. I can’t believe I get to ride in Sixth Master Zhao’s plane today, all thanks to you," Su Linsheng said with a grin.
You could see the surprise and anticipation on his face.
In truth, he had also thought about getting a private jet, but he didn’t have nearly enough money for one at the moment.
