My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 237: Charging into the Enemy’s Lair

"The boss of the Su Group, Su Linsheng!" Chu Feng said.

"Su Linsheng? A foreigner?" The Black leader seemed a bit confused, as if he didn’t recognize the name.

"The one from the Great Xia Country!" Chu Feng said.

"Oh... that. We don’t care what country people are from. As long as they’re rich, we’ll just kidnap them," the Black leader said, looking aggrieved.

It couldn’t be helped. This was their line of work, how they made a living.

Were they supposed to just stop? That was obviously impossible.

Besides, his men went out to kidnap plenty of people every day. How was he supposed to remember which one was from some Su Group that Chu Feng was talking about?

However, deep down, he probably knew which one it was, because a group of people had escaped today.

He now recalled that when his subordinate reported in, he had mentioned a young man from the Great Xia Country who had split a pickup truck in half with a single sword strike.

Chu Feng then took out his phone and pulled up a photo of his father-in-law.

"Remember now?" Chu Feng asked, showing the photo to the Black leader.

"Oh, him. We did kidnap him. He does business here, and we heard he’s very rich. But we didn’t know he was your father-in-law!" the Black man said, looking aggrieved again.

"Is that the only reason? Did someone put you up to it?" Chu Feng asked with a frown.

He was actually very worried that his father-in-law’s kidnapping wasn’t a random incident, but a deliberate plot by someone with malicious intent.

After all, back home, his own parents had just had their accident not long ago.

And now, something like this was happening to his father-in-law. How could Chu Feng not be worried and suspicious?

"Yes! We have so many men and a lot of expenses. Kidnapping is the fastest way to get money," the man said, still with that aggrieved look on his face.

He was terrified of Chu Feng. The power Chu Feng had displayed was simply too immense—one might even call it monstrously strong.

His three subordinates had been taken down in no time at all.

Hearing the man’s answer, Chu Feng was left speechless.

’So my father-in-law was kidnapped simply because he’s rich? Is being rich a crime now?’

Originally, Chu Feng had wanted to just kill these guys. He had even considered wiping out all these armed criminals.

But after a moment’s thought, he decided against it and chose not to go on a killing spree.

"I can spare your life, but let me tell you something. That man is my father-in-law. If you dare to go after him or the Su Group ever again, I will personally take your head!" Chu Feng said coldly.

"Yes, sir! Please rest assured! I guarantee that from now on, in this territory, no one will dare touch your father-in-law or his company. If anyone does, I’ll be the first to take them out," the Black leader hurriedly replied upon hearing this.

He didn’t want to die. To have made it this far, he had at least that much sense.

"I hope so. Otherwise, all of you will die!" Chu Feng’s expression remained icy.

If these guys tried to pull any tricks, Chu Feng wouldn’t let them off. After all, they weren’t good people to begin with.

"Yes, thank you! Sir, please don’t worry. I assure you right now, from this day forward, the Su Group’s sales channels in this territory will be completely unobstructed. I have connections and can help handle things," the Black leader said.

"That’s more like it. If anything like this happens again, I don’t care where you are, I will chop off your head!" Chu Feng warned.

"Please rest assured, sir. There will be no problems!" the Black leader said with a nod.

"Good!"

With that, Chu Feng released his foot and walked toward the door.

Just as Chu Feng was about to step through the doorway, he suddenly swung his sword backhandedly.

BAM!

The Black leader’s massive, solid wood desk was split cleanly in two, the cut surface perfectly smooth.

The four men were dumbstruck. They hadn’t seen how Chu Feng had even drawn his sword.

Moreover, Chu Feng was a good seven or eight meters away from the desk. How could a sword strike connect from that distance? And even split it in half!

"Sir... Are you a Martial Artist?" the Black leader asked, his voice trailing.

"Yes. So, if you still want to make an enemy of me, you’d better think carefully about the consequences," Chu Feng said coolly, then walked out the door without looking back.

In truth, if he wasn’t worried about the future impact on his father-in-law’s business market here, Chu Feng wouldn’t have even bothered coming.

But since he was here, he had to resolve all these problems.

Since the man was willing to talk sense and honestly promised not to provoke his father-in-law again, Chu Feng didn’t want to press the matter further.

But if they had chosen to be stubborn, Chu Feng wouldn’t have been polite. He would have just killed them.

Chu Feng walked downstairs. The guards in the courtyard were about to open fire but were barked at and stopped by the Black leader.

Just like that, Chu Feng swaggered out of the town. Not a single person on the road dared to stop him.

Everything went so smoothly.

By the time he drove back to the villa, it was already past midnight.

At that moment, Su Miaoke and her parents were sitting in the living room, worrying helplessly.

They were all very worried about Chu Feng. They didn’t know where he had gone, and his phone was turned off when they tried to call.

Chu Feng had been worried his phone might give away his position, so he had simply turned it off.

When he got home, Su Miaoke was the first to run over.

"Honey, where have you been?" Su Miaoke asked worriedly.

"I was just taking a walk, getting a feel for the local culture," Chu Feng said with a smile.

"Xiao Feng, why was your phone off? We were worried sick! You can’t just wander around here, especially at night. It’s extremely dangerous," Su Linsheng said with a grave expression.

In truth, they were all so worried because they feared something had happened to Chu Feng.

"Don’t worry, Dad, Mom, Miaoke. I’m fine. Ordinary people can’t do anything to me. My phone just ran out of battery, that’s why I didn’t get your calls," Chu Feng said, giving a casual excuse.

He didn’t dare say he had gone to the armed criminals’ den; otherwise, they would have worried themselves to death.

To keep them from worrying, Chu Feng chose to say nothing.

"Xiao Feng, why don’t we all go home tomorrow? Your father has already arranged for the work handover here," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law said, sounding a bit anxious.

She didn’t want to stay in this godforsaken place for a second longer. It was too dangerous.

"Sure. I’ll contact that pilot, Zhao Liu. Let’s leave at eleven tomorrow morning. We’ll get home just in time for dinner," Chu Feng said.

"Good, Xiao Feng. Please arrange it quickly. We’ll set off first thing tomorrow morning," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law said hurriedly.
