Chapter 204: 2 Great Thieves
These two had both reached the Qi Cultivation Realm. They weren’t weak; in fact, you could say they were quite strong.
Especially when they worked together. An ordinary Qi Cultivation Realm cultivator—or even a few of them—would be no match for the pair.
That was why, for so many years, numerous Martial Arts Families had issued wanted notices, but none had succeeded in catching them.
The reason these two had targeted Jiang Tao was twofold.
Firstly, he was too ostentatious. A wedding this flamboyant was bound to attract attention.
Secondly, while Jiang Tao was wealthy, he had no Martial Arts Family backing him, which was why the two were so fearless.
Although Zhao Liu was a member of the Zhao Family, he was only from a collateral branch responsible for managing the family’s assets. Therefore, he was unaware of these two.
In fact, even Zhao Quan might not recognize them. Zhao Qinghan had likely heard of them but had probably never seen them in person.
After all, these two were utterly vicious criminals. One specialized in extortion, the other in preying on women. When they worked together, even a Martial Arts Family would struggle to deal with them without prior preparation.
Therefore, being targeted by these two meant you were in for a world of trouble.
The pair’s reputation was utterly foul; they were more reviled than rats in the gutter.
The Qing Gang and the Tang Family might resort to poisoning people behind their backs, but their roots were still here, so they wouldn’t dare to go too far.
These two bandits were different. They had no fixed residence, and no one ever knew their whereabouts.
After the motorcade left the airport, the two men’s car tailed it the entire way. The procession was so long that no one noticed they were being followed.
They just assumed the other car was simply passing through.
The entire way was filled with the CRACKLE of firecrackers as red envelopes were scattered along the road.
This continued all the way to Jiang Tao’s village without a single pause.
Besides, many of Beihai City’s socialites, CEOs, media professionals, and independent content creators were also in attendance.
So, when the two bandits’ car drove into Jiang Tao’s village along with everyone else, no one noticed. No one was paying attention, and no one was running any checks.
Jiang Tao was operating on a single principle that day: all who came were welcome guests.
A grand banquet was held in the village’s largest auditorium, a venue that could hold at least a thousand people.
There was a large open area outside the auditorium where dozens of tables were set up, with dozens more inside. In total, there must have been a hundred tables.
Upon entering the village, the entire motorcade parked in the large lot beside the auditorium.
At his age, Jiang Tao had no parents or children. So, for the part of the ceremony where the couple bows to their elders, the village’s oldest great-uncle took the seat of honor.
The entire ceremony followed traditional customs rather than a modern format, lending it a more solemn and dignified air.
Down below, as Chu Feng watched Jiang Tao performing the wedding ceremony, he felt a flicker of unease.
’Strange, why do I feel so flustered and uneasy?’ Chu Feng couldn’t help but mutter.
A bad feeling washed over him, as if he were being watched.
Chu Feng took such perceptions very seriously. Before he started his Cultivation, he never had this kind of sixth sense; or if he did, it was extremely faint.
But since he began his Cultivation, he had gradually become able to sense impending danger, especially things that were about to happen.
For instance, the feeling of being watched by someone with malicious intent.
"Ah? Honey, are you not feeling well?" Su Miaoke asked.
Chu Feng scanned his surroundings but didn’t spot anything out of place. Yet, the feeling persisted.
It felt just like someone was staring at him, making him flustered and uneasy.
Suddenly, his gaze locked onto the Northwest corner of the auditorium.
Over there, two men were hiding in the crowd. They both wore masks and hats and held video cameras, looking as if they were part of the regular film crew.
But Chu Feng felt something was off. The feeling seemed to be emanating from their direction.
When Chu Feng used his Celestial Eye to look, he saw that the Sin Value above each of their heads had surpassed one hundred thousand. Between the two of them, they had a combined Sin Value of nearly three hundred thousand!
This gave Chu Feng a real shock.
He then activated the Wealth God Token in his mind to investigate the two men’s identities.
All the sins the two had committed in their lives were displayed, and Chu Feng understood everything in a single glance.
After seeing it all, fury surfaced on Chu Feng’s face. These two were truly and utterly evil.
One specialized in abducting brides on their wedding night, while the other specialized in extortion. Crucially, they never left any of their victims alive.
It was clear just how detestable these men were.
’These two have most likely set their sights on Jiang Tao! For such vicious and evil scum to run into me today... this will be your final reckoning!’ Chu Feng’s expression darkened as he sneered internally.
Today, Chu Feng would not let them escape. He was determined to deal with them.
At that moment, the two men were still sizing up Jiang Tao and his wife through their cameras. Scarface, in particular, wore a vile smile that would make anyone’s skin crawl.
Although the two were utterly evil, they also possessed a significant amount of Merit Points.
This was a glimmer of hope for the "impoverished" Chu Feng. If he took them down, he could earn at least thirty thousand Merit Points—enough to break through to the Foundation Establishment Realm.
"It’s nothing," Chu Feng said. "I just feel like someone’s been watching us."
"There are so many people here. It’s only natural that someone would be looking," Su Miaoke said casually, not giving it much thought.
"Yeah, let’s not worry about it for now. It’s almost time to eat," Chu Feng said to Su Miaoke. "When we get married, our celebration will have to be even grander than this."
"Oh, forget about being grand," Su Miaoke said, a little shyly. "We’re already husband and wife, we just haven’t had the reception yet."
"When the time comes, I’d rather we just travel together and see the world. I’m so tired of staying in Beihai," Su Miaoke continued.
"Alright," Chu Feng said with a smile, though he never took his eyes off the two bandits. After all, they were extremely dangerous individuals.
If he didn’t keep a close watch, something bad could easily happen.
Soon, the food and wine were served, and the entire village was abuzz with excitement.
Every table was laden with a massive spread of seafood, much of which was so exotic that even Chu Feng had never seen it before.
This made many of the guests marvel. It really paid to be rich; a single one of these tables must have cost tens of thousands.
On top of that, the firecrackers and fireworks seemed to go on without end.
