My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 203: Grand Wedding

"Damn, Brother Jiang, you’re something else." Chu Feng couldn’t help but give him a thumbs-up at the sight.

That move of his was truly brilliant.

He’d defused the difficult situation with ease.

And just like that, everyone was happy.

The guys who wanted to drink were happy, and the groom’s party was happy too.

"Let’s go!" Jiang Tao led the charge, rushing inside, his fat jiggling with every step.

Anyone who dared to block him would have been sent flying several meters.

They quickly reached the apartment door, but Luo Huan’s family had shut it tight.

"Open up! It’s me, Jiang Tao, here to pick up my bride!" Jiang Tao shouted as he knocked.

"Red envelopes!" came the voices of the women from behind the door.

"Alright, open a crack and I’ll slip them through," Jiang Tao said.

Soon, the door opened a crack, and Jiang Tao stuffed dozens of red envelopes through.

"Is that enough?" Jiang Tao asked.

The women inside were stunned. When they opened the envelopes, they found each one was stuffed with several hundred yuan—two hundred at the very least.

With dozens of envelopes passed through, each person ended up with about ten of them on average.

"Not enough!" an unknown voice piped up.

"Screw it. Throw the whole bag in." At Jiang Tao’s command, his men tossed a large bag inside.

There had to be at least a few hundred red envelopes in there. The moment the bag was tossed inside, the people blocking the door scattered, scrambling to grab them.

Their eyes went wide with greed. You’d have to be a fool not to grab them—a single envelope was worth a day’s wages.

"Don’t grab them! They’re mine!" Some people even nearly came to blows over the red envelopes.

"Don’t worry, no need to fight over them! I’ve got more right here." Once inside, Jiang Tao continued tossing red envelopes around like they were confetti.

The onlookers went wild with excitement. They hadn’t come to a wedding; they’d come to pick up free money.

"You guys, go upstairs and start throwing them around. The more, the better," Jiang Tao ordered his men.

In his mind, the more red envelopes he threw, the more auspicious the occasion would be.

And Chu Feng? He was having the time of his life.

Tossing them out handful after handful... he’d never felt anything like it. It was exhilarating.

’From now on, no matter the problem, the obstacle, or the search, Jiang Tao won’t have to lift a finger. He can just throw money at it.’

’Toss out a handful of cash, and any crowd would break apart to go after it.’

’Need to find something? Simple. Just announce the reward in red envelopes, and you won’t even have to look. Someone will bring it right to you.’

Once they got into Luo Huan’s room, there wasn’t any over-the-top hazing. They just played a few simple games before escorting the bride out.

After she was in the car, Jiang Tao then presented Luo Huan’s parents with several million in cash.

Once in the car, Chu Feng himself took the wheel for Jiang Tao, and the convoy sped toward the airport.

The procession was incredibly grand, with firecrackers popping incessantly along the entire route.

’She’s quite beautiful,’ Chu Feng thought, sizing up the bride. ’Pure and delicate. You can tell just by looking at her that she’ll bring her husband good fortune.’

"Luo Huan, let me introduce you. This is Brother Chu, a major figure here in Beihai City. And this is his wife, the very brilliant heiress of the Su Group," Jiang Tao said, happily introducing Chu Feng and Su Miaoke to his new bride.

"Hello, I’m Su Miaoke. You don’t need to be afraid. In the future, if Boss Jiang ever treats you poorly, you can tell me. I’ll have my husband straighten him out," Su Miaoke said to Luo Huan.

"Hey, sister-in-law! Right off the bat, you’re already giving my wife such a powerful backer. How could I ever dare to cross her in the future? I’m afraid Brother Chu will show up at my door to beat me up," Jiang Tao said with a laugh.

Luo Huan studied Chu Feng and Su Miaoke. She was surprised that a major figure like Jiang Tao was so courteous to the couple; he even seemed deferential.

"Huanhuan, I swear to you, right here in front of Brother Chu: I am marrying you with complete sincerity, from the bottom of my heart. There are absolutely no ulterior motives," Jiang Tao said.

"Sister-in-law, if this old geezer is forcing you, just say the word, and I’ll back you up," Chu Feng said.

"No, it’s not like that. I truly want to marry him," Luo Huan said.

At her words, Jiang Tao’s smile grew even wider.

"Honey, don’t you worry. After hearing you say that, I, Jiang Tao, swear I’ll never treat you badly for the rest of my life," Jiang Tao said with a laugh, looking absolutely thrilled.

The motorcade headed for the airport. Whenever they passed onlookers on the side of the road, Jiang Tao would have his men toss out red envelopes to share the happy occasion.

High above, a helicopter followed their every move, filming and broadcasting the event live.

Before long, the motorcade reached the airport. The entire terminal was festively decorated with lanterns and colorful streamers. A red carpet, hundreds of meters long, stretched all the way to the foot of the private jet.

Upon boarding, they saw that even the plane itself had been painted bright red.

The whole affair was incredibly extravagant. Thanks to the media coverage, the entire internet was buzzing.

Everyone was speculating about which tycoon was getting married in such a spectacular fashion.

Naturally, the gossip-hungry netizens went into full-on detective mode, digging up everything they could on Jiang Tao and his new wife’s identities and backgrounds.

When the jet landed at Beihai City Airport, an even more spectacular scene awaited them.

Lined up were at least sixty Rolls-Royce Phantoms. Including other sports cars, the fleet totaled over a hundred vehicles, all decked out in red and festive colors to welcome the bride.

But little did they know that just outside the airport, a car was parked. Inside sat two men dressed in black: One-Eyed Dragon and Scarface.

The two of them watched the plane descend slowly. "This Fatty Jiang really spares no expense, huh? Such a huge spectacle for a wedding? This must have cost him a few hundred million, at least."

"He’s got more money than he knows what to do with," Scarface said with a vicious grin, his smile turning lecherous. "Later, when we grab them, you get the money from him. The bride’s mine."

"Deal," One-Eyed Dragon replied with a sinister smirk of his own, his expression turning vicious. "This time, we’ll squeeze tens of billions out of him. That’ll be enough for the two of us to live large for a few more years."

These two were practitioners of the Martial Dao, but they weren’t disciples from any of the established Martial Arts Families.

Strictly speaking, the two were considered Loose Cultivators, but they had atrocious reputations. One was a notorious lecher who preyed on women, and the other a master pirate.

They had even targeted Martial Arts Families in the past, making them the enemies of many.

The only reason the pair dared to be so audacious—even provoking the Martial Arts Families—was because their cultivation was simply extraordinary.
