My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 196: If You Won’t Let Me Save Them, So Be It

"Who let you in? Get out!" one of the bodyguards yelled at Chu Feng and the others.

"My friend, this is Mr. Chu, a friend of Sixth Master Zhao. We’re all on the same side," Hu Biao quickly stepped forward and said.

"And this is Young Master Zhao. You should know of the Zhao Family," Hu Biao added, introducing Zhao Quan.

At the mention of Zhao Liu and the Zhao Family, the bodyguards’ expressions changed instantly.

"The Zhao Family?" The men glanced at each other.

"What happened here?" Chu Feng asked.

The bodyguards stared at Chu Feng, not answering right away. Instead, they just watched him fixedly, their faces full of suspicion.

Right now, they didn’t dare trust anyone, especially not Zhao Liu and his people.

They strongly suspected that today’s incident was very likely connected to the Zhao Family—and to this Zhao Liu.

Just then, the paramedics shook their heads helplessly. "Sorry, there’s nothing more we can do."

They had tried every method they knew, but nothing had worked. The old man named He and the old man named Huang were both lying on the ground, their faces a ghastly dark blue, with white foam frothing at the corners of their mouths.

"I don’t care what you have to do, you have to save Mr. He! If you don’t, none of you are leaving here alive!" one of the bodyguards shouted emotionally, pointing his gun at the medical personnel.

If this Mr. He died just like that, they would be finished too.

The medical personnel looked miserable, on the verge of tears.

"Even if you shot us all right now, there’s nothing we can do! They can’t be saved. Mr. He and the other man were hit with some kind of unknown, potent poison. Once you’re exposed, it’s a death sentence!" one of the paramedics said, his face a mask of misery.

It wasn’t that they weren’t trying to save them; they were simply out of options.

At that moment, Chu Feng picked up a nearby, half-finished bottle of 300-year-old Guojiao. He sniffed it, his brow furrowed, and then stepped forward. "Let me try. It might work."

Everyone turned to look at Chu Feng.

"You?" The bodyguards stared at Chu Feng.

"Yes. It’s up to you. You have a three-minute window. After that, not even an Immortal could save them," Chu Feng said lightly.

If they insisted on stopping him, Chu Feng wasn’t about to force the issue.

The bodyguards began to hesitate, unsure of what to do.

Hearing this, the paramedics immediately retorted, "You can save them? They’re already dead! How could you possibly save them? You must have some ulterior motive."

They didn’t believe a word Chu Feng said. If he could really save them, what was the point of them even being there?

At the paramedics’ words, the bodyguards instantly became wary again.

"Get out, now! Or don’t blame us for what happens next!" The bodyguards pointed their guns at Chu Feng and his group.

Seeing this, Su Miaoke was furious.

"What is wrong with you people? You’re so unreasonable! My husband is trying to help you out of the goodness of his heart, and not only are you ungrateful, you treat us like this?" Su Miaoke said angrily.

Hu Biao stood to the side, wiping sweat from his forehead. He had no idea what to say.

He was terrified to his core. Today’s mess was just too big.

Hearing their words, Zhao Quan’s temper flared.

"What the hell did you just say? You got the guts to say that again? You’re not good enough to save them, so you won’t let us try? Now I’m starting to seriously suspect you’re the one who poisoned them," Zhao Quan snarled, grabbing one of the paramedics.

Zhao Quan’s ferocious expression struck fear into their faces.

When the bodyguards heard this, they couldn’t help but start suspecting the medical personnel as well.

Zhao Quan had a point.

These guys insisted Mr. He couldn’t be saved, but now they were stopping Chu Feng from trying. Something about that was definitely suspicious.

"Are you sure you can save them?" the bodyguards asked, looking at Chu Feng.

"One minute left," Chu Feng said lightly, not answering directly.

The bodyguards exchanged a glance, then quickly came to an agreement. As long as the men could be saved, nothing else mattered.

"Fine. You try." The bodyguards made way.

Only then did Chu Feng walk over unhurriedly. He glanced briefly at Mr. He and Mr. Huang lying on the ground.

"How is it, Big Bro? What kind of poison did these two old guys get hit with?" Zhao Quan asked curiously from the side.

"I’m not sure. But it’s highly toxic. You can’t find a poison like this on the open market. Even most hospitals wouldn’t have it," Chu Feng said.

Hearing this, everyone around them was astonished.

"So, Big Bro, you’re saying someone from one of the families might have done the poisoning? Like the Tang Family of the Qing Gang?" Zhao Quan’s first thought was of the Tang Family.

"I don’t know. That’s for them to investigate themselves," Chu Feng said lightly.

He then took a small vial from his pocket.

When he took out the small vial, the bodyguards instantly grew uneasy.

"What is that?" one of the bodyguards asked, worried Chu Feng was about to administer more poison.

"If you’re worried I’m poisoning them, then I can just not save them. You can go ahead and call the crematorium," Chu Feng said, putting the vial away.

This vial contained Foundation Establishment Liquid, an extremely precious substance. Ordinary people couldn’t refine it at all.

Refining Foundation Establishment Liquid requires not only specific medicinal ingredients but also strict standards for heat control, formula, timing, and many other factors.

If they didn’t want his help, Chu Feng was more than happy to save his precious Foundation Establishment Liquid.

"No... that’s not what we meant! Please, help them," the two bodyguards said, thoroughly frightened by this turn of events.

’If these two old men die because of this, it would only take a single sentence from Chu Feng to have us finished.’

’The narrative wouldn’t be that they were unsavable, but that we wouldn’t let him save them.’

"Then get back." Chu Feng glared at the bodyguards.

Though worried, the bodyguards backed away. At this point, it was a desperate gamble.

After pouring the Foundation Establishment Liquid into the mouths of the two men, Chu Feng placed his hands on their chests.

From his palms, wisps of Spiritual Power surged out, guiding the Medicinal Liquid to circulate throughout their bodies.

Only by circulating the Medicinal Liquid could the poison be rapidly purged.

Although Foundation Establishment Liquid is used for Cultivation, it can also neutralize countless poisons.

But most people would never be willing to use it as an antidote; it was far too extravagant.

Everyone stared, not daring to blink.

After about five minutes, the dark blue hue on the two old men’s faces gradually began to fade.

"There. They should wake up in a little while," Chu Feng said, letting out a breath.

Although it had only been five minutes, it had consumed a fair amount of his Spiritual Power and was quite draining.
