Chapter 188: Starting as Vice President
"How is Xiao Hao doing? Is he scared?" Su Miaoke asked.
"Don’t you worry, Sister-in-law. Xiao Hao is much tougher than you think. You can tell he’s got great potential—he’s a quick study and picks things up fast," Gao Feng said.
"He is, isn’t he? I also think Xiao Hao is wonderful," Su Miaoke said, smiling and nodding.
"Alright, then. Let’s go see him," Chu Feng said. He was actually still worried that Chu Hao would be nervous or scared, so he wanted to check on him in person.
"Is that so? I’ll go see him," Chu Feng said, about to stand up.
"Hey, since you’re still worried, I’ll take you to see him. I’m free right now anyway. Usually, I’m just having meals with some CEOs and what not," Gao Feng said with a smile.
"Sounds like you’ve got it easy. But no matter how comfortable you are, you have to get the job done right. This business is tied to the Su Group, after all. You can’t afford to be sloppy, or things will get very troublesome," Chu Feng warned.
"Chu Feng, relax. You know me, don’t you? You can be a hundred percent sure about this. Every single product that leaves here gets inspected at least three times. If any product fails to meet quality standards, I’ll fire the person responsible on the spot," Gao Feng vowed, thumping his chest.
In truth, Gao Feng knew full well that he owed his current success entirely to Chu Feng.
Since Chu Feng had sent the Su Group’s business his way, he had to do an impeccable job. No matter what, he couldn’t allow a single mistake.
"Then let’s go see my brother," Chu Feng said.
The reason he was so worried about his younger brother was because of their deep bond. Chu Feng cared for his only brother an incredible amount.
Back when he was making just over three thousand yuan a month, he had relied on that meager salary to put his younger brother through college.
After all, back then his father had mobility issues with his legs, and the family’s income was pitifully small. They basically survived on the meager income his mother earned from farming.
The family had struggled with hardship from the start, so to Chu Feng, brotherly bonds and family ties were of the utmost importance.
When they were children, the two were often bullied, and his younger brother, Chu Hao, would shield Chu Feng with his own body to protect him.
It was safe to say the bond between the two brothers was incredibly deep.
By the time the group reached the workshop floor, they could see Chu Hao from a distance. He was following a male manager, constantly taking notes on everything he saw.
As the manager spoke, Chu Hao recorded everything, learning the workshop’s production procedures. He looked completely focused, studying with great diligence.
"Xiao Hao is quite handsome when he gets serious. I bet he’ll make a lot of young women swoon, won’t he?" Su Miaoke remarked, covering her mouth with a chuckle.
"Xiao Hao’s been like that since he was a kid. Whatever he does, he’s always focused and serious. Why else do you think he cooks such delicious noodles?" Chu Feng said with a smile.
Chu Feng, however, wasn’t like his brother. He was comparatively less focused and a little bit lazy.
He was the type of person who would never do something if he could avoid it, and would never stand if he could lie down.
"Looks like you’re making packaging boxes right now?" Chu Feng asked, glancing at the items on the production line.
"That’s right. We mostly make packaging boxes and the like," Gao Feng said.
"They may just be boxes, but the Su Group has had so many orders recently that we can’t keep up, even running three shifts. I’m already thinking about expanding," Gao Feng said with a smile.
And it was true. As the Su Group expanded, their orders had increased severalfold.
Even without the new business, the Su Group’s previous order volume was enough to keep Gao Feng’s factory in continuous production.
"For that, you’ll have to ask your sister-in-law. See what the Su Group’s strategic direction is," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"The Su Group is currently in a phase of rapid growth. We’re really just getting started. Once all the overseas markets are open, I estimate orders will increase by at least ten or twenty times before gradually stabilizing."
"But overall, for about the next year, orders will only increase. After that, they’ll probably level off for a bit. Then, once we expand further, they’ll surge again. So, relatively speaking, you should definitely consider expanding your production. Otherwise, you won’t be able to handle all these orders."
Su Miaoke explained to Gao Feng, as this was indeed the path the Su Group was currently on.
In truth, for a contract manufacturing factory like Gao Feng’s, the pressure is immense when orders dry up, especially with so many employees on the payroll.
If you expand too much and the orders don’t come, the daily overhead becomes massive. You’d basically go bankrupt within a few months.
However, now that Gao Feng’s factory was backed by the Su Group, he didn’t have to worry about orders at all.
That was why Su Miaoke could tell Gao Feng he should expand production.
After all, whenever the Su Group had orders, they would definitely prioritize Gao Feng.
When Gao Feng heard Su Miaoke’s confident answer, his face immediately lit up with excitement.
He had wanted to expand for a long time but hadn’t dared to be so aggressive, fearing the Su Group’s orders wouldn’t be sufficient.
This way, once Gao Feng expanded the production lines, his profits would likely multiply several times over.
"Great! Since Sister-in-law says so, I can go ahead and arrange the production line expansion with peace of mind," Gao Feng said happily.
As the three of them were talking, Chu Hao happened to spot them and immediately walked over.
"Brother, Sister-in-law, I knew you’d come check on me," Chu Hao said with a smile as he approached.
He knew his brother too well and was sure he wouldn’t be at ease leaving him here by himself.
"You know your brother best, Xiao Hao. It’s about time for lunch, let’s go eat," Su Miaoke said to him.
"We still have twenty minutes. Brother, Sister-in-law, why don’t you come sit in my office for a bit? Brother Feng set it up for me. It’s very impressive," Chu Hao said with a smile. Although it was only his first day, he was adapting quickly.
Hearing this, Chu Feng naturally wasn’t going to refuse and agreed immediately.
Even if Chu Hao hadn’t suggested it, Chu Feng had wanted to go see the office anyway.
After all, Chu Hao was now the vice president of this factory. His status was completely different, so Gao Feng would certainly have gone all out to set things up for him.
Soon, the group arrived at the office.
The moment they walked inside, both Chu Feng and Su Miaoke were astonished.
The office was new and spacious. The large desk was solid wood, and the large cabinet behind it was also solid wood—mahogany, at that.
’A set like this must have cost a few million.’
