Chapter 154: It Can Be Cured
"Alright then, I’ll take you up on that," Chu Feng said with a smile.
Now that he’d put it that way, refusing any further would just be awkward.
The three of them then moved to the dining table, where an extravagant seafood feast was laid out that left even Chu Feng stunned.
There was top-grade king crab, giant lobster, sea urchin, black-lipped abalone, tuna, caviar, and French foie gras—so many delicacies that Chu Feng couldn’t even keep count.
When Jiang Tao opened the bottle of three-hundred-year-old Guojiao, a rich aroma instantly filled the air. The scent alone was enough to make Jiang Tao’s mouth water.
"Good wine. Truly good wine," Jiang Tao said, nodding repeatedly as he poured Chu Feng a full glass.
He then poured Su Miaoke a glass of the decanted 1992 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon.
Chu Feng took a small sip. The flavor was indeed excellent, a whole level above the hundred-year-old vintage, if not more.
"It really is excellent," Chu Feng said with a nod.
"If you like it, Brother Chu, take a case with you when you leave. I stocked up on several," Jiang Tao said with a smile.
Although they were dining in a restaurant, the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offered a spectacular view of the coast.
Especially when the windows were open, you could even smell the fresh sea breeze.
"This is a wonderful place. Drinking fine wine, enjoying a seafood feast... it’s so relaxing," Chu Feng said.
’The lives of the rich really are completely different from those of ordinary people.’
’It’s the difference between heaven and earth.’
’Ordinary people are always just trying to figure out how to survive.’
’Meanwhile, the wealthy are already pursuing all sorts of pleasures and experiences.’
"Brother Chu, do you like the view?" Jiang Tao asked.
"Of course. Eating and relaxing by the sea—what could be more pleasant?" Chu Feng replied.
"As it happens, I have a villa just a few kilometers from here. I’d like to give it to you, Brother Chu. It’s in a location that money can’t buy," Jiang Tao said.
"Is it in Bihai Bay?" Su Miaoke suddenly asked.
"Correct. President Su is sharp as ever, guessing it right away," Jiang Tao said with a smile.
"A villa in Bihai Bay... that’s no small thing," Su Miaoke said. "In terms of price, a conservative estimate would be seven or eight hundred million. But the key is that you can’t get one even if you have the money."
Chu Feng was taken aback when he heard this.
’This Jiang Tao is really generous, offering up a villa so easily.’
"I can’t accept that," Chu Feng said, shaking his head and refusing outright.
"Brother Chu, please don’t refuse. This house is meant for you. In any case, we’re done eating. Why don’t we go take a look? I’m sure you’ll love it," Jiang Tao said with a smile.
"We can go take a look, but I won’t accept the house," Chu Feng stated.
’We’re full now, so a walk would be nice.’
"Alright. But Brother Chu, I need to discuss a private matter with you." As he spoke, Jiang Tao glanced at Su Miaoke.
Su Miaoke had already heard about it from Chu Feng, so she knew why Jiang Tao wanted to speak with her husband.
So, she knew to take the hint.
"Alright, you two go on ahead. I’ll just wander around on my own," Su Miaoke said.
"Please, don’t stand on ceremony. Make yourself at home. Look at whatever you like," Jiang Tao said.
He quickly led Chu Feng out of the room.
The two of them walked along a path outside the restaurant, enjoying the pleasant sea breeze.
Jiang Tao didn’t speak until they had walked to a more secluded spot.
"Brother Chu, I sought you out today because I do have a favor to ask. I won’t beat around the bush," Jiang Tao said.
"Go on," Chu Feng said.
"I just wanted to ask... that thing you said to me last time, about going to the hospital for a check-up... what did you mean by that?" Jiang Tao asked tentatively.
"Boss Jiang, since you’ve brought me here, I won’t mince words either. I’ll be direct. You’re having performance issues, aren’t you? You can’t lead a normal marital life, and that’s why you don’t have children," Chu Feng asked bluntly.
"Incredible! Brother Chu, you’re amazing. How could you tell just by looking at me? Don’t tell me Zhao Liu told you?" Jiang Tao said, giving Chu Feng a thumbs-up.
’In the back of his mind, he still suspected that Zhao Liu might have told Chu Feng.’
’After all, Zhao Liu and Chu Feng were very close.’
"Sixth Master didn’t tell me anything. I just happened to notice it the other day," Chu Feng said.
"Then, Brother Chu... since you were able to see it, you must have a way to treat it, right?" Jiang Tao asked, his voice growing tense.
"I can’t be sure. I’ll have to examine you to know for certain. Extend your left hand," Chu Feng said.
Though shocked, Jiang Tao did as Chu Feng instructed and held out his left hand.
Chu Feng took Jiang Tao’s wrist to feel for his pulse and asked, "What have the doctors told you before? Did they say there was a cure?"
’The reason he asked for Jiang Tao’s hand was simply to use the opportunity to probe the condition of his body. After all, taking a pulse was a standard and credible practice in traditional Chinese medicine, so Jiang Tao wouldn’t find it suspicious.’
"I’ve seen many doctors, including some old practitioners of traditional medicine. They all said my condition is incurable... that it’s completely shot," Jiang Tao said with a bitter expression.
"Oh? Have you tried seeking help from the master physicians of any Martial Arts Families?" Chu Feng asked.
"I have, but they were unwilling to intervene. I also sought out some other traditional doctors from different Martial Arts Families, but they all said it was beyond saving," Jiang Tao said with a sigh.
To fix his "family jewels," you could say he’d traveled far and wide, begging countless people for help.
He had been on the verge of giving up, but Chu Feng’s words that day had ignited a spark of hope within him. After wrestling with the decision for days, he finally resolved to seek Chu Feng out and take a chance.
He couldn’t afford to miss a single opportunity.
Holding Jiang Tao’s wrist, Chu Feng carefully injected a stream of his Spiritual Power to probe his condition.
Jiang Tao didn’t have much of a reaction. He only felt his wrist grow slightly warm, then cool, but he didn’t think much of it.
Once his Spiritual Power reached *that* area, Chu Feng confirmed it: the situation was just as Jiang Tao had described.
It was completely useless. To heal it would require a top-tier Treasure Medicine, the kind that could bring the dead back to life and grow flesh on bare bones.
Even Martial Arts Families would have extreme difficulty finding such a medicine, so it was perfectly normal that no one was willing to help him.
"How is it?" Jiang Tao asked, looking at Chu Feng with an anxious expression.
"It can be treated," Chu Feng said. "But it will require a great sacrifice on your part. Are you willing?"
’He was asking this to test Jiang Tao’s resolve—to see if he was truly willing to give up anything to be cured.’
’In truth, this condition was a trivial matter for Chu Feng. It would just take some time to treat. By nourishing the area with Spiritual Power every day, it would be like a withered tree sprouting new buds and beginning to grow again.’
’The whole process would take at least a month.’
