Chapter 131: Future Mother-in-law
The young woman could also tell that the two ladies before her were clearly people of importance.
They were dressed magnificently in designer brands, their entire getup a picture of luxury.
Most importantly, their auras were clearly not those of ordinary people.
Despite realizing this, she couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.
"How about we go get some coffee? We can chat while we drink," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law suddenly suggested.
Hearing this, the young woman was even more bewildered. She had no idea what was going on.
"Thank you for your kind offer, ma’am, but I have to work," the young woman said.
"You don’t need to call me ’ma’am.’ I’m not your boss. Just call me ’Auntie.’ *She’s* your boss," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law told the young woman. "It’s just a cup of coffee, it’s no problem. I’ve already cleared it with your boss—this factory belongs to her family."
"That’s right. Go on ahead. We won’t dock your pay; you’ll get your full wages. Take as much time as you like," Sister Zhou said with a smile.
"Huh? I... Is this for real?" The young woman was completely dumbfounded, finding it hard to believe.
"Let’s go, let’s go! Xiao Feng, be a dear and drive us," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law said cheerfully.
And just like that, Su Jun’s girlfriend dazedly followed Chu Feng’s mother-in-law and her entourage out of the office, while Su Jun remained completely oblivious.
When they reached the factory gate, she saw three luxury cars parked outside.
A Mercedes S-Class, a Maybach, and a Maserati.
Each one was worth over a million, a fact that left the young woman stunned.
Chu Feng drove his mother-in-law’s Maybach, taking everyone to a nearby upscale café.
Su Jun’s girlfriend was visibly nervous the entire way. She had never experienced anything like this before.
This was especially true for the café, which was more high-end than any she had ever visited.
On top of that, she was still in her work uniform, which made her feel completely out of place and heightened her anxiety.
The group got a private room, and a server soon came over to ask what kind of coffee they wanted.
Chu Feng didn’t know the first thing about any of this, but his mother-in-law certainly did.
She immediately ordered a cup of the café’s most famous coffee for everyone, and when Chu Feng saw the price, his eyes went wide.
"What the hell kind of coffee costs three thousand a cup? Does drinking it make you immortal or something?" Chu Feng couldn’t help but grumble.
’He might be rich, but wasn’t this a bit of a rip-off?’
Across from them, Su Jun’s girlfriend heard the price, and the color drained from her face in shock.
’That’s almost half a month’s salary... for a single cup of coffee?’
"Oh, Xiao Feng, you only know how to make money, not how to enjoy life, do you? A three-thousand-yuan coffee has its reasons for being priced that way. You’ll understand once you try it," said Chu Feng’s mother-in-law.
Seeing Chu Feng’s surprise, Sister Zhou also laughed and said, "That’s right, Xiao Feng. Just wait and try it."
Su Miaoke knew Chu Feng had come from a humble background. His perspective on money and values was naturally worlds apart from that of her mother and the other wealthy women.
The coffee was served shortly after.
"Have some coffee, dear. There’s no need to be so nervous; we’re just here to chat. By the way, I don’t believe I’ve caught your name yet," said Chu Feng’s mother-in-law.
"Ma’am, my name is Jiang Qingyao," said Su Jun’s girlfriend.
"Qingyao, what a lovely name. And I told you, you don’t need to call me ’ma’am.’ ’Auntie’ is just fine." Chu Feng’s mother-in-law was even more pleased after hearing her name.
"A-Auntie," Jiang Qingyao stammered, still a little nervous.
"Auntie, why did you all want to see me? Did I do something wrong?" Jiang Qingyao asked Chu Feng’s mother-in-law nervously.
Hearing this, Chu Feng’s mother-in-law quickly explained, "No, not at all! You’re doing a great job. I just took a liking to you the moment I saw you, so I wanted to chat."
At this point, Chu Feng couldn’t take it anymore and asked directly, "You’re dating Su Jun, aren’t you?"
He knew his mother-in-law was dying to ask but didn’t know how to begin, which was just leaving the poor girl completely flustered.
"Huh? We... Yes... We only just started dating... Is something wrong?" Jiang Qingyao grew nervous again.
"No need to be nervous. How do you feel about Su Jun? What do you think of him?" Chu Feng asked.
"This... Auntie, are you Su Jun’s family? We’ve only been dating for a few days... I’ll break up with him as soon as I get back." Jiang Qingyao suddenly understood, and her expression soured as her face turned deathly pale.
She was quite astute, and from their words, actions, and questions, she quickly guessed their objective.
As she saw it, Su Jun’s parents were here to make her break up with him.
"Qingyao, since you’ve figured it out, I won’t beat around the bush any longer. This is your brother-in-law, Chu Feng, and this is your older sister, Miaoke. I’m Su Jun’s mother. And rest assured, we didn’t come here to make you break up. I just wanted to get to know you a little. I hope you two will be very happy together. I like you a lot."
"Don’t be nervous, and please, don’t misunderstand us. We have absolutely no intention of splitting you two up, so you can relax. Drink your coffee. And don’t you worry about work, either. This is your Aunt Zhou. The factory where you work belongs to her family, so her word is law."
Chu Feng’s mother-in-law explained, her face beaming with a satisfied smile.
"I only found out you two were dating today, so I hurried right over. I know it might seem a bit rushed, so Qingyao, I hope you don’t mind. I just couldn’t wait to meet my future daughter-in-law," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law continued.
"Oh, is that right? Auntie, I didn’t realize you were Su Jun’s parents. He never told me about his family; I only knew they were from Beihai," Jiang Qingyao said, a little embarrassed.
"That’s right. Our whole family is from Beihai," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law said.
"The lunch at the factory probably wasn’t very good, was it? How about we go get a proper meal?" Chu Feng’s mother-in-law asked with concern.
"Auntie, I’m full from lunch, I’m not hungry," Jiang Qingyao said, though her voice was soft, and she seemed to have grown even more nervous.
She had never imagined that the woman she had been talking to this whole time was her boyfriend’s mother.
Her future mother-in-law!
The crucial thing was, this future mother-in-law seemed very pleased with her, which left her at a complete loss.
She would have been fine if Su Jun were there; at least she would have felt a little more at ease. But Su Jun wasn’t there, and she was surrounded by people she didn’t know. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t nervous.
"Don’t you worry, dear. I’ll arrange for them to set up a special menu for you. I guarantee the food will be even better than a five-star hotel’s," Sister Zhou said with a smile.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry and thank your Aunt Zhou," Chu Feng’s mother-in-law said with a laugh.
Jiang Qingyao was a little dazed, but she reacted quickly, saying, "Thank you, Aunt Zhou."
