Chapter 96: Take a Gamble
"There is a way, but are you sure you can handle the consequences?" Yang Hu asked, a mocking smile on his face.
"Tell us what it is. My company is having some operational difficulties right now. I can’t come up with over a hundred million," one of the parents said.
This parent was truly out of options. He couldn’t produce that much money, but he couldn’t just stand by and watch his son get killed, either.
"It’s simple. Go out there and gamble a few hands. If you can win, you can take both the person and the money," Yang Hu said.
"Gamble a few hands?"
Hearing this, the parents were all stunned, and many of them frowned.
Some of them didn’t gamble at all, and besides, this place was clearly an illegal, rigged casino.
You’d have to be crazy to keep gambling here. It was an obvious setup to get fleeced.
So, after hearing this suggestion, they all refused.
"Are you sure?" Chu Feng asked.
Yang Hu glanced at Chu Feng and sneered. "Of course. If you have the skill to win back the two hundred million, you can take him. Otherwise, you have until ten o’clock tomorrow morning to come up with two hundred and fifty million!"
"What? Where did an extra fifty million come from?" Chu Feng asked with a frown. ’This guy is unbelievably ruthless.’
"Fifty million? I’m already giving you a great deal. I’m extending your deadline by more than ten hours. Is fifty million in interest really that much?" Yang Hu said smugly.
The man was a complete shark, making outrageous demands as if he planned to swallow people whole.
"So, kid, you want to play a few hands?" Yang Hu asked.
"That’s the idea," Chu Feng nodded.
When Su Miaoke heard this, she quickly pulled him back.
"What are you doing? You really want to gamble?" Su Miaoke asked anxiously. She hadn’t expected Chu Feng to make such a choice.
"I do," Chu Feng said with a nod.
"Are you crazy? They’re obviously setting you up! How can you possibly win gambling against them?" Su Miaoke said, a little upset.
"Don’t worry. Trust me. How much money do you have on your card right now?" Chu Feng asked, calm and confident.
"I have about sixty million on my card. Or... I could talk to my dad and have him wire some money. If we pool it together, we should be able to scrape together the two hundred million," Su Miaoke said.
"The company is expanding right now. Pulling out two hundred million at once could cause operational problems. Just give me one million. I’ll give it a shot," Chu Feng said.
"Are you sure?" Su Miaoke asked, worried.
"It’s only a million. It’s worth a try. Who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky and win it all back," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"Alright, then." Su Miaoke nodded. One million wasn’t a huge amount to her.
Chu Feng was very confident. His current power was incredibly close to Foundation Establishment, so for him, gambling wasn’t very difficult.
Besides, that Yang Hu was a man of heinous crimes. The vile light above his head was so brilliant that Chu Feng could barely keep his eyes open.
His Sin Value had reached a staggering 150,000.
This was a huge amount, far surpassing that of the Tang Family or the Zhongnan Chen Family.
From this, it was clear that the evil this man had committed was greater than that of all the Tang Family brothers combined.
It made Chu Feng realize that there was always someone more wicked out there.
"Well now, you’re an interesting one, kid. You just won’t give up until you hit a brick wall, will you? You could’ve just paid the two hundred million and taken the guy, but no, you insist on playing a few hands. By the time this is over, you might have to cough up double or even triple that amount!" Yang Hu said with a smug expression.
"For the Su Group, two hundred million is nothing. You’d make it back in no time. Why take such a risk?" Yang Hu asked, a little curious.
Chu Feng simply said, "What’s the matter? Are you scared?"
Hearing this, Yang Hu couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words with Chu Feng. He said directly, "Someone get this man some chips."
Su Miaoke paid the one million, and soon, a tray with one million in chips was brought over.
"Kid, only a million? That little bit of cash won’t last you more than a single hand," Yang Hu said, shaking his head with a sneer.
In his eyes, it didn’t matter how much money Chu Feng put up; it was just a gift to him.
"You don’t need to worry about that. When I win, if you don’t make good on your word, you’ll die a miserable death," Chu Feng said.
"You’ve got guts, kid, threatening me to my face!" Yang Hu burst out laughing.
Then, his eyes turned cold. "Let me tell you something. The grass on the graves of people who dared to talk to me like that is already ten feet tall!"
"If you don’t make good on your promise, the grass on your grave will be just as tall," Chu Feng retorted coldly.
"Fine! Since you want to play, I’ll play with you to the bitter end!" Yang Hu sneered.
The two then walked over to the gambling table in the room.
"You can decide what we play," Yang Hu said.
"Oh? I get to decide?" Chu Feng asked.
"Of course. I’m game for whatever you want to play," Yang Hu said.
"Alright. And what if you renege on the deal or cheat?" Chu Feng asked.
"If you can catch me cheating, you can take the guy and the debt is wiped clean!" Yang Hu said with confidence.
"Good. Then let’s just play for high card. Keep it simple. We each draw one card. Whoever’s is higher wins," Chu Feng said.
"Sounds good. How much are you betting?" Yang Hu asked.
"One million. All in," Chu Feng said.
"Good! You’ve got guts! I like your style!" Seeing Chu Feng go all in right away, Yang Hu’s interest was piqued, and a smug grin spread across his face.
Soon, a dedicated dealer began to shuffle, then spread a deck of cards face down on the table.
"Want to inspect the deck first?" Yang Hu suddenly asked with a mocking smile.
"We’ve already started. There’s no need," Chu Feng said with complete confidence.
"Alright. I’ll let you draw first," Yang Hu said.
Without wasting any time, Chu Feng casually selected a card, and Yang Hu drew one after him.
To everyone watching, it seemed he had truly picked a card at random, which made Su Miaoke tense up.
In reality, none of them knew that Chu Feng was now on the verge of the Foundation Establishment Realm, and his perception far exceeded that of an ordinary person.
He didn’t even need to look closely to know which cards were high and which were low.
Furthermore, the moment he first saw Yang Hu, he had already activated the man’s Sin Value.
Right now, Yang Hu was plagued by misfortune and not far from death’s door.
That was why Chu Feng was so confident about gambling with him.
Yang Hu flipped over the card in his hand.
A little joker appeared before everyone’s eyes.
"The little joker!"
Everyone was shocked. For Chu Feng to win this hand, he would have to draw the big joker.
The odds of that were one in fifty-three!
It was practically impossible.
Su Miaoke’s face fell. This was as good as a guaranteed loss.
"How are you going to beat me now, kid!" Yang Hu said with a triumphant smile.
As far as he was concerned, Chu Feng had already lost.
However, Chu Feng’s expression remained calm, without the slightest hint of panic, as if he was completely assured of his victory.
