Chapter 78: Monstrous Sins
Hiss. ’Isn’t Chu Hao’s brother just a regular employee?’ Principal Li was utterly astonished.
According to the files they had, Chu Hao’s family were all ordinary people from the countryside, with no power or influence.
But clearly, that information was wrong.
So for a moment, he found himself doubting Chu Feng.
"I got married at the end of last year," Chu Feng said, noticing Principal Li’s skepticism.
Hearing this, it dawned on Principal Li.
Their files were several years old.
"Sigh... President Chu, President Zhao, to be honest with you, there’s a reason behind all this," Principal Li said with a sigh.
Just as he sighed, his phone suddenly rang.
"President Chen?" Principal Li sounded surprised, as if he hadn’t expected a call from this person.
"Principal Li," President Chen’s voice came from the other end of the line, dripping with menace. "I hear you have a couple of visitors? You know what should and shouldn’t be said. I don’t need to teach you that, do I?"
"Well..." Principal Li was instantly caught between a rock and a hard place, unsure of what to do.
"Principal Li, your son is coming home from abroad soon, isn’t he? Even if you won’t consider your own hide, you’d better think about your son’s," President Chen said before hanging up abruptly.
He didn’t give Principal Li any chance to respond.
Chu Feng was sitting nearby, and with his superhuman hearing, he had naturally heard every word from the other end of the line.
After the call ended, Principal Li’s expression darkened.
In fact, even if Chu Feng hadn’t overheard the conversation, it was obvious from the principal’s expression that something was wrong.
"President Chu, President Zhao, I... have something to attend to. Please see yourselves out. My apologies for not being a better host," Principal Li said to Chu Feng and Zhao Suyue.
This sudden shift in attitude made Zhao Suyue’s brow furrow.
"Principal Li, what’s the meaning of this? We were just talking. Could you at least give us the short version?" Zhao Suyue could tell this was no simple matter.
’A single phone call completely changed his attitude. He must have been threatened.’
"Principal Li, you can speak freely. He can’t threaten you," Chu Feng said calmly. "But if you don’t speak, you’ll be the one who has to worry about his own well-being."
Without changing his expression, he gripped his teacup. It looked like a gentle squeeze.
CRACK~
Just like that, the ceramic teacup crumbled into powder and sifted through his fingers.
This scene left Principal Li stunned. Even Zhao Suyue, standing beside him, was aghast.
’He crushed a ceramic teacup just by squeezing it?’
’Crushed it into dust!’
’That’s terrifying.’
Cold sweat beaded on Principal Li’s forehead. His face was a mask of horror as he was once again caught between a rock and a hard place.
’If I don’t talk, I’m in danger. If I do, my son is in danger.’
"I... I can’t say," Principal Li stammered, his face a picture of misery.
Zhao Suyue looked at Principal Li. "Did someone threaten you, Principal?"
"It was that ’President Chen,’ wasn’t it?" Chu Feng asked. "Who is he? Where is he? Does this have something to do with my brother?"
"President Chen?" Zhao Suyue was visibly startled when she heard those two words.
"Which President Chen? The one from Aolong Group?" Zhao Suyue asked, her expression turning grim.
Principal Li glanced at Zhao Suyue and finally gave a reluctant nod.
Upon seeing Principal Li’s nod, Zhao Suyue’s expression became extremely grim.
Chu Feng turned to Zhao Suyue. "Aolong Group? Are they a big deal?"
He knew nothing about this Aolong Group. Although Chu Feng was originally from Zhongnan City, he had spent most of his time in Beihai City, only attending high school in Zhongnan.
As a result, he wasn’t very familiar with such matters.
"Aolong Group is a major corporation in Zhongnan City," Zhao Suyue said gravely. "While they may not be number one, the Chen Family is incredibly powerful, with connections on both sides of the law."
"The Chen Family?" Chu Feng frowned, trying to think. "When did my brother get on the wrong side of them?"
Suddenly, he recalled something. At the end of last year, when school let out for the holidays, he and Su Miaoke had gone to pick up his brother and found him being bullied.
"Is Chen Long a member of the Chen Family?" Chu Feng asked abruptly.
The moment Chu Feng uttered the name, both Zhao Suyue and Principal Li turned to look at him.
Zhao Suyue’s expression was a bit strange, but she nodded nonetheless.
"But he died last year," Zhao Suyue said.
Chu Feng wasn’t surprised by this news in the slightest. It was he, after all, who had detonated Chen Long’s Sin Value, causing his death.
BANG!
Just then, the office door was kicked open.
A man in his early thirties stood in the doorway, wearing sunglasses and an expensive suit.
Behind him stood a dozen or so burly henchmen.
"Well, well, Principal Li. Having a chat, are we?" the leader of the group said with an arrogant smirk.
"President Chen! What brings you here?" Principal Li said deferentially upon seeing the man, swallowing nervously. He was clearly terrified.
Zhao Suyue’s expression also soured at the sight of the newcomer.
Chu Feng registered their expressions before his eyes fell on the man.
"Is he the one who called you?" Chu Feng asked.
Principal Li looked like he wanted to nod but didn’t dare.
Just then, Zhao Suyue spoke up. "President Chu, this is the President Chen that Principal Li mentioned—Chen Hu, the general manager of the Aolong Group."
"Chen Long was your younger brother?" Chu Feng asked Chen Hu.
When Chen Hu heard Chu Feng mention his brother’s name, his expression visibly darkened.
"How do you know my brother’s name? You’re Chu Hao’s brother? I heard you were the punk who laid a hand on him last year?" Chen Hu gritted his teeth, his face turning sinister.
"Are you responsible for my brother’s injuries?" Chu Feng ignored the question, cutting straight to the point.
"That worthless brother of yours? Yeah, I had my men push him off the building," Chen Hu said with a vicious snarl. "What about it? You got a problem? My brother’s only conflict before he died was with him, so he had to die!"
At this, Chu Feng’s fists clenched, and his eyes narrowed to slits.
"I’ll give him this, your brother’s a tough bastard. A dozen of my guys beat on him for half an hour and he was still breathing," Chen Hu said with a cold smirk. "In the end, we had no choice but to toss him off the building."
He said it as if he were boasting, completely oblivious to the fact that Chu Feng was standing right in front of him.
Hearing this, Zhao Suyue and Principal Li’s hearts pounded in terror.
’This man is absolutely ruthless.’
Chu Feng looked at the man. Above his head was a sea of blood-red light—a sign of overwhelming sin.
His Sin Value had reached -27,000!
