Chapter 73: Investigation
"It’s no use."
"Quick, call Sister Chuxia!" several Tang Family disciples said, immediately dialing Tang Chuxia’s number.
"What? Something happened to Tang Mu? I’m on my way now." Tang Chuxia had been in the middle of her Cultivation, but she rushed over as soon as she got the call.
The Tang Family disciples kept trying to revive Tang Mu, using every method they could think of.
But nothing could change his condition. Tang Mu was suffocating, his movements growing weaker and weaker.
A short while later, Tang Chuxia arrived at the villa, but by then, Tang Mu was barely moving.
His pupils had begun to dilate, and his lips had turned pale.
"What happened?" Tang Chuxia asked urgently.
"We don’t know. He was perfectly fine one moment, and then this happened," a Tang Family disciple said, completely baffled.
Tang Chuxia hastily tried to transfer True Qi into Tang Mu, but no matter how much she channeled, it was useless.
She couldn’t stop Tang Mu from dying as his breath failed.
The moment Tang Mu died, exactly three hours had passed.
Since Chu Feng had declared he would die within three hours, he naturally wouldn’t last a second longer.
"Where did he go today?" Tang Chuxia interrogated the other Tang Family disciples.
She had exhausted every possible means, but she couldn’t save Tang Mu.
"We don’t know either. He went out early this morning, saying he had to take care of something. He came back about an hour or two later and sat here for a long time. Then this suddenly happened," a Tang Family disciple explained.
"Could he have gone to get revenge on someone?" Tang Chuxia asked.
"We’re not sure about that. Oh, right, the woman who was with Tang Mu just now said he was muttering something. He said, ’That bastard said I’d be dead in three hours, but it’s been three hours already. Why am I not dead yet?’" the Tang Family disciple recalled.
"Oh? He said that?" Tang Chuxia asked.
"Bring her here." A Tang Family disciple immediately brought over the woman who had been with Tang Mu.
Tang Chuxia questioned her, "What did Tang Mu say before he died?"
"He... he said that someone told him he would die within three hours, but it had already been three hours, and he asked why he wasn’t dead yet," the woman said, trembling.
"Did he mention Chu Feng or the Zhao Family?" Tang Chuxia asked.
"No." The woman shook her head repeatedly.
"You few, go and find out what happened!" Tang Chuxia ordered several of her Tang Family disciples.
"Yes, Sister Chuxia. I’ll arrange for people to investigate right away." The Tang Family disciple knew Tang Chuxia was about to lose her temper, so he hurried to carry out her orders.
And he was right. Tang Chuxia did indeed lose it.
After the Tang Family disciples left, Tang Chuxia started smashing things, shouting in a rage, ’You useless fool! I told you not to go looking for death, but you just had to go! Now you’re really dead! Still, this person’s methods are truly vicious. Even I can’t tell what technique was used to kill someone so inexplicably!’
「About twenty minutes later.」
The Tang Family disciples returned with information.
"Sister Chuxia, we found something. Tang Mu went to the Su Group today," the disciple reported.
"The Su Group? Was he looking for Chu Feng and Su Miaoke?" Tang Chuxia frowned.
"I told you to investigate this Chu Feng. Did you find anything?" Tang Chuxia asked.
In truth, she had long been suspicious of Chu Feng’s identity. Her curiosity had been piqued ever since Tang Lin’s death.
"We’ve investigated. This Chu Feng is indeed from the Chu Family, but he doesn’t have much of a connection to them now. It’s just a blood relation."
"Oh? Tell me everything." Tang Chuxia’s interest was instantly sparked.
"Chu Feng’s grandfather was a disciple of the Chu Family, but he was expelled decades ago, severing his ties with them. Chu Feng’s father also tried to make a name for himself in Beihai over twenty years ago. At that time, we were fighting the Chu Family, and when his connection to them was discovered, Hu Long broke his legs, forcing him to leave Beihai."
Tang Chuxia’s brow furrowed as she listened to the disciple’s report.
"So, you’re saying Chu Feng’s branch of the family doesn’t really have any significant connection to the Chu Family anymore," Tang Chuxia confirmed.
"That’s right. But there’s something strange about this Chu Feng. It feels like there’s more to him than meets the eye," the disciple said.
"Oh? Go on," Tang Chuxia said.
"Before last year, Chu Feng spent five years as a real estate agent in Beihai, earning only a few thousand yuan a month. You could say he was at the very bottom of society. But near the end of last year, he somehow got involved with Su Miaoke of the Su Family. They even met each other’s parents and got their marriage certificate."
"After that, Chu Feng has been working as a lowly security guard at Su Miaoke’s company. Something about it feels very wrong."
"I see. You’re all dismissed. I’ll personally pay a visit to the Su Group tomorrow," Tang Chuxia said.
Tang Chuxia was taking this matter very seriously.
After all, Tang Mu was a disciple the Tang Family had been carefully grooming. He had great potential and was meant to be a future pillar of the family.
Unlike Tang Lin, who was just a fringe disciple and not as important.
If she couldn’t find out why Tang Mu died, she would have no way to answer for it.
"What? Sister Chuxia, you can’t! We don’t know the situation at the Su Group right now. It’s too dangerous for you to go alone," the disciple urged.
"First it was Hu Long, then Tang Lin, and now Tang Mu. This isn’t a simple matter. It’s possible someone is deliberately targeting our Tang Family."
"Targeting us? Who would be so bold? The Zhao Family? Impossible. They didn’t dare do anything to us even when they almost died at sea. I think Chu Feng is inextricably linked to all of this," Tang Chuxia said.
Meanwhile, Chu Feng was accompanying Su Miaoke home from work.
The journey was uneventful.
He had already breathed a sigh of relief regarding the Tang Mu situation. In his eyes, that guy was definitely not going to survive.
Today’s incident could be described as a scare without any real danger. It had even earned him 1,900 Merit Points, allowing him to advance his Cultivation again.
After they got home, Chu Feng’s parents had already prepared dinner. The family of four ate together happily, and then everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
Chu Feng sat on the sofa, quietly engaged in his Cultivation, while Su Miaoke sat on the bed, circulating the Taiqing True Scripture.
「In the blink of an eye, the night passed.」
After Chu Feng converted all those Merit Points into Spiritual Power for his Cultivation, he felt he had already reached the Peak of the Qi Cultivation Realm. He would soon be able to break through to the Foundation Establishment Realm.
His overall strength had taken another leap forward!
On top of that, he now had the Taiqing Palm Skill. Although he hadn’t practiced it for long, possessing this Palm Skill had boosted his power tremendously.
Early the next morning, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke went to the park behind their villa to begin their Cultivation.
