My Slime Wife: Training and Pampering Her Makes Me Stronger

Chapter 180: A Small Gelatinous Companion [Bonus - ]

The group remained motionless inside the dungeon.

In front of them, two enormous violet eyes glowed in the darkness.

Liam kept his pistol aimed forward.

Jordan moved to the front.

Carol flexed her arms.

Emily let small sparks of electricity run across her body.

Chuck drew two knives.

Lena gripped her black sword tightly.

Meanwhile, Nora summoned several shadow creatures that slid across the ground.

But then, the eyes disappeared.

Liam frowned.

"Where is it?"

"I can’t see it anymore," Nora replied.

"Did it leave?"

"No."

Nora shook her head.

"It’s closer."

A strong gust of wind swept through the tunnel.

Liam felt the air hit his face.

And then, the entire space changed.

The wall in front of them began to distort.

It didn’t break or open.

It simply ceased to exist.

A message from Pix appeared in front of Liam.

[Pix: Liam...]

’What is it?’

[Pix: This dungeon is altered.]

’We already know that.’

[Pix: No. I mean something different.]

[Pix: We just entered a different dimension.]

Liam looked ahead.

The darkness had disappeared.

In its place was a completely unfamiliar landscape.

An enormous violet sky covered the area.

There was no sun, nor was there a moon.

Only a gigantic white sphere floated in the distance, illuminating a land covered in black trees.

The ground appeared to be made of gray stone, but transparent plants that glowed softly grew between the cracks.

Floating mountains could be seen in the distance.

Some of them were upside down.

Others simply remained suspended above the horizon.

◇◆◇

"Did the dungeon evolve?"

Jordan was the first to ask.

Pix appeared amid sparkling lights in the air and slowly floated in front of the group.

"I don’t know."

Chuck looked at her.

"That’s not very reassuring."

Pix looked up at the sky.

"This dimension doesn’t appear in any of my records."

Liam looked around.

"So we don’t know anything about this place?"

"We know a few things."

Pix pointed toward the transparent plants.

"There’s dimensional energy everywhere."

Then she pointed toward the floating mountains.

"Gravity doesn’t work the same way as it does in our world, either."

Ray approached a small stone and touched it.

The stone began to grow heavier.

Ray’s eyes widened.

"It’s changing its density."

He picked up the stone.

"This rock is much lighter than it should be."

He dropped it, and the stone hit the ground with a dull sound.

"But when I touched it, it started regaining its weight."

Liam nodded.

"So this place is affecting abilities too."

"Probably," Pix replied.

Nora sent one of her shadow creatures forward.

The creature walked several yards.

Then it stopped.

Nora frowned.

"My shadow is having trouble."

"What kind of trouble?"

"It can’t maintain its shape."

The small creature began to distort.

Nora immediately called it back.

"This place is interfering with it."

Liam looked at the group.

Everyone was beginning to notice small differences.

The dungeon wasn’t just another world.

It was a world that was reacting to them.

"We need to find the source of the connection."

Pix nodded.

"And we need to do it quickly."

"Why?"

Pix pointed toward the sky.

The enormous white sphere had begun to change.

A crack appeared across its surface.

Liam looked up.

"What does that mean?"

"I have no idea."

The crack slowly spread.

Then, a small amount of violet energy fell from the sky.

When it touched the ground, the transparent plants began to grow.

Within seconds, several of them grew until they became enormous trees.

Lena stepped back.

"I definitely don’t want to spend any more time here."

Chuck chuckled.

"For once, we agree, kid."

◇◆◇

After several hours of exploration, they reached an enormous valley.

The place appeared to be completely empty.

There was nothing but a landscape covered in black stones.

At the center of the valley was something that immediately caught Liam’s attention.

An enormous circular structure that looked like a tower.

But it had no walls.

Only several stone rings floating one above another.

At the center was a completely black hole.

Pix approached it.

"That shouldn’t exist here."

Liam raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"Because it doesn’t belong to this dimension."

Everyone fell silent.

Liam looked at the rings.

"Then someone built this here."

Pix shook her head.

"No."

She pointed toward the center.

"This wasn’t built."

A chill ran down Liam’s spine.

"Then what is it?"

Pix took several seconds to answer.

"A connection."

The air began to vibrate, and the rings slowly started rotating.

Nora stepped back.

"Something is coming through."

Liam drew his pistol.

"Everyone, get ready."

Emily moved beside Carol.

Jordan stepped forward.

Zayn disappeared into the shadows.

Ray touched the ground.

Chloe prepared Resonance.

And then, from inside the black hole, a hand appeared.

It wasn’t human.

It had long fingers covered in some kind of dark crystal.

Liam took aim.

But before he could fire, something shot out from his jacket.

Lydia’s small copy jumped directly toward the front.

"Lydia, no!"

The small mass of slime landed on the ground.

For a moment, it remained completely still.

Then it began to expand.

A small slime barrier appeared in front of Liam.

[Harden]

The crystalline hand slammed into it.

BOOM.

The barrier trembled.

Liam’s eyes widened.

The copy slowly began to retreat.

It looked like it was struggling.

Liam ran toward it and scooped it up in his hands.

"Get back here!"

The small slime trembled.

Liam held it against his chest.

"I told you not to use your abilities, sweetheart."

The copy slowly raised a small part of its body.

Liam looked at it, and the system chat appeared before his eyes.

[Lydia: I wasn’t attacking.]

[Lydia: I was protecting you.]

His expression softened.

"I know."

He placed her back inside his jacket.

"But don’t ever do that again without telling me."

The copy remained still.

Liam took a deep breath.

Then he looked toward the center of the structure.

The crystalline hand had disappeared.

But the hole remained open.

And something much larger was beginning to emerge.

Pix appeared beside him.

"Liam."

"I know."

The creature finished passing through the connection.

It was much larger than the being they had encountered in the city.

And unlike that one, it didn’t say a single word.

It simply stared at them.

Then it opened its mouth, and a roar shook the entire valley.

Liam raised his pistol.

"Looks like we found something that definitely didn’t come here looking for refuge."
