Chapter 121: Fight, Noah, fight.
Elias’s POV
Irrelevant.
Conan is giving us irrelevant information.
I don’t give a fuck if Noah’s mother isn’t the woman Goldsmith is married to. I don’t give a fuck if his child, Noah, was taken away. And I don’t give a fuck if Noah never got to know.
All that information is none of my business. The only thing I care about is Noah, and Noah isn’t breathing right.
The omega is dead silent but it’s clear that he’s having a panic attack. I have had too many panic attacks to not recognize one when I see it. Noah is completely still, but there are beads of sweat on his forehead. His face is pale, and his chest isn’t moving.
"Enough" I say, raising my hand to stop Conan from saying anything else and pointing at my brothers to give my next order. "Shove him back into the cell" I say.
"No" a small protest slips out of Noah’s mouth and I swallow my growl of anger.
"Take Conan away right now" I repeat my order, and Lucas moves first. He and Damien grabs Conan’s arm and takes him out of the room.
"No wait..." Noah says and I place my hand on his shoulder to keep him back. He is clearly not in touch with what’s happening. His breath is hitching and he looks like he’s about to fucking pass out.
"Noah, behave" I warn and he doesn’t listen.
"Bring him back...I haven’t heard the full story, please. I need to know what happened next" Noah pleads as he tries to shrug my hand off his body, but I tighten my grip on him.
He can’t handle more of this mental torture.
There has been too much trauma dumping on him these days. He is not processing any of them properly. And I hate the way I don’t know long he has before he’d crash.
"We’re leaving this place" I say quietly and Noah punches me across the face.
"BRING HIM BACK!" he yells.
"I SAID NO MORE" I roar at him and the omega startles. My nostrils flare with the pain of his hit, but I don’t want to inflict pain on him. I want him to stop fighting against me. "No more story telling for today, Noah. You’ve had enough" I say in a softer voice and Noah shuts his eyes.
He’s fighting back tears.
"Do you understand?" I ask in a cold voice and he opens his eyes, letting the tears roll down his cheeks. Fuck. I can smell the bitterness of pain seeping into his pheromones, tarnishing the usually sweet scent.
He’ll get over it.
"Let’s go" I say and lead him out of the hospital.
Noah is shaking with silent sobs and I don’t take my arms off him. That omega’s story is heavy enough to shut down his system and I don’t blame him. While it irritates me to mix mafia business with Noah’s emotions, I couldn’t let him stand there and let him struggle all by himself.
"What are you doing to Conan?" Noah asks that infuriating question and I give him no answer.
What I plan to do with Conan is my business. I could flay him alive if I wanted to. I could sell him to the highest bidders with a mommy kink. I could drop him in an ocean and leave him there.
"Elias, what are you going to do to him now?" Noah asks in a firmer voice and I look him in the eye to give him my response. I need him to focus on his own recovery without worrying about someone else.
"What I will do to him shouldn’t be your concern" I say coldly and those words seem to force him out from his dissociation.
"You can’t hurt him, Elias. You have to let him go" Noah starts to fight against me again like a trapped animal. He punches and hits me relentlessly as I drag him to the car.
Pain flares up in the areas his knuckles meet, but I don’t stop him yet. Let him fight to his fill.
"Don’t hurt him" the omega shouts as I open the car door and shove him into the backseat. I throw him on his back and he whimpers in protest.
His beautiful eyes are bright blue with a mix of unshed tears, fear, and rage. He looks divine when he’s upset. A part of me that shouldn’t exist wants to kneel and do his bidding, but I will never do that.
He needs a break and I will make sure he gets that much needed break.
"You murdering bastard" he spits out and I capture his wrists.
I hold them in one hand, lift them above his head, and force his body backwards. He gasps in surprise at the speed and at our new position.
I’m half lying on him and fully caging him under my body.
"Noah" I say his name sternly and something flickers in his eyes.
That ’something’ is a recognition of who I am, what I’m capable of, and how much he needs me. Good. I need him to fear me and I need him to need me.
"If you don’t calm down right now, Angel, things will go south for you and everyone else" I warn and he stops fighting.
He maintains eye contact as he tries to steady his breathing.
There’s my good boy.
"We’re going to your home" I say and he shakes his head.
And there’s my defiant boy.
"I don’t want to go there" he says breathlessly.
"You don’t have a choice, Noah" I say and lift myself off him.
I scan him with my eyes. His outfit is now disheveled. His pink sweater is falling low enough to expose his collar bones. His fingers are digging into his own thighs. And he’s biting his bottom lip punishingly to keep himself under control.
"Don’t hurt Conan, please" he says quietly and I nod.
"He’ll stay alive because he still owes us information" I inform and get into the car.
Seeing that our fight is over, Lucas and the driver join us in the car too. The both of them respectfully stay quiet and so does Noah.
In less than forty minutes we arrive at the Goldsmith mansion. The guards open the gate without argument and I get out of the car to scan the building first.
The whole place has been rebuilt and looks like my brothers and I never visited. The walls are clean and the structure is sturdy. It’s clear that it was recently repaired while the places the citizen lives are left to rot.
The Goldsmiths are worse than animals.
I open the door for Noah to get out and the omega does so reluctantly. He looks like he doesn’t want to be here. He keeps his head down and his fist clenched by his side.
What would he do now? Punch me again? Headbutt me? Jump out of a fucking window again?
"Come here" I hold my hand out for him and he doesn’t take it.
My husband brushes past me as he gets out of the car and I grab him by the elbow to make him look at me.
"You’re allowed to seethe, but you’re not allowed to take your fucking eyes off me" I snarl at him and he obeys instantly.
When he lifts his eyes to meet my gaze, I find myself hating what I see. There’s blankness. Need to break free. And tiredness. Extreme tiredness.
Tonight I’ll hold him and let him break in my arms without fear. But for now, we have to face his fake mother who’s already peeking through the window on the second floor.
The Goldsmith bitch.
