Chapter 172
Ethan’s Point of View
"We should have gone after her. I shouldn’t have listened to you," Nathan said as he walked back and forth. It had been over a week since we had seen Kate. We had called, and she wouldn’t answer. Her parents told us that we should give her some space so that she could think. Nathan was about to lose it, and honestly, I was too.
It was hard for werewolves to be away from their mates. Nathan and my wolves were upset. I was sure Kate’s wolf was upset as well.
"We should kill Mariah and Courtney. This is all their fault," Nathan said. I wanted to kill them too, but I knew that would be wrong.
"Calm down, Nathan. It wouldn’t be right to kill them. We were the ones who messed around with them. They have been punished," I said, and Nathan smiled.
"Yeah, we should leave them in a cell longer than a week. At least we kicked them out of the packhouse. I don’t want them here when Kate comes. If she comes, that is." We ended up kicking Courtney and Mariah out of the packhouse after making them spend five days in a cell for trying to come between Kate and us. Now they knew the consequences of messing with our mate.
"We have to be patient with her. We can’t just go in there and demand she see us. Kate isn’t the kind of girl who would let someone boss them around. She isn’t going to do what we say just because we told her to," I said
"I know, I just miss her, man. Goddess, I never thought I would be the one saying this," Nathan said. I agreed. Nathan never cared about a female. He just fucked women. I didn’t care either, but I had girlfriends. The difference between Nathan and me was that he would fuck different women daily. I would pick one to be my girlfriend. The relationship would last a year or two, and then I would break up with them. Ntahan and I both wished we would have just waited for our mate. We wouldn’t be in this situation if we had.
"Alpha Ethan and Alpha Nathan, Ebony and Keith are on their way to the packhouse. They have Luna Kate with them," one of the pack guards who was guarding the gate said
"Okay," I said and ended the link.
"She is coming," Nathan said happily. I was happy as well. She came on her own
"Yes, we have to be patient and not scare her," I said
"I know, man. I won’t do anything to push her away from us," Nathan said
"Okay, just make sure you keep your attitude in check," I said. Nathan had a temper. He would go off over anything. I didn’t need him to make Kate angry. She was already upset with us. We needed to keep calm and hear her out.
Nathan and I waited outside for Kate. Keith pulled up, and we walked down to meet Kate.
"Hello, Princess," I said
"Hi, Love," Nathan added
"Hello," Kate said. I could tell that she was nervous. I was a little worried that she would come to reject us. She was very mad when she left after what Courtney and Mariah had done.
"Um, I was hoping we could go inside so that we could talk," Kate said, and I looked at Nathan, who looked just as worried as I was.
"Sure," I replied
"We will come and get you later," Ebony said
"That’s fine. We will take her home when she is ready to go," Nathan said
"Is that okay, Kate?" Ebony asked
"Yeah, that’s fine," Kate replied, and they left.
We went into the packhouse and up to the floor that was meant for Nathan and me when we found our mate. The room was big and took up the entire top floor.
The elevator opened, and we were in the living room.
"This is your room?" Ebony asked
"This is supposed to be our room. Ethan and I made it for when we found our mate. No one has ever been up here," Nathan said
"Oh," Kate said
"How about we have a seat?" I said
"Okay," Kate replied, and she sat on the couch. Nathan and I sat across from her. We sat silently for a moment. Kate still looked nervous, and that made me worry more. Before she could speak, Nathan spoke.
"If you are here to reject us I will not accept. I know you are upset about Courtney and Mariah but they did that because they wanted to come between us. We can’t let that happen. I am not letting you..."
"Nathan," I said and he looked at me
"What? I am telling the truth." Kate just chuckled and that caused Nathan and me to look at her
"Why are you laughing? This is not funny," Nathan said
"I know. I am sorry. You two just looked so serious right now. I couldn’t help but laugh," Kate said
"I am happy I am entertaining," Nathan whispered.
"I am not here to reject you. I came to talk," Kate said, and Nathan and I sighed in relief
"Okay, what is it you want to talk about?" I asked
