Nathan’s POV

After our father’s death, Ethan and I became the twin Alphas of the Red Moon Pack. Most of our Pack was happy that we had taken over and our father could no longer abuse them, but the ones that followed him left. We could care less because they were just as sick as he was.
After showering, I put on a pair of blue jeans and a black shirt. My brother and I were invited to the crowning of Derek and his Mate, Rose, becoming Alpha and Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. My brother and I were never close to Derek because we were close to Keith, and Derek and Keith had an issue with each other. Not only that, but Derek and his family seemed to believe the rumors about me and my brother being Ruthless and evil and stayed away from us.
Once I was ready to go, I headed to my brother’s room. When I was by the door, I could hear screaming from the room because the door wasn’t fully shut. "I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ARE DOING THIS ETHAN. HOW COULD YOU BREAK UP WITH ME RIGHT AFTER FUCKING ME?" I heard Mariah, Ethan’s girlfriend. Well, I guess his ex-girlfriend says.
"I told you I needed to speak to you about something important, but then you started taking your clothes off. I got stuck at the moment," Ethan said
"Ethan, you can’t break up with me. I love you, and we are meant to be together," Mariah said. I could see by Ethan’s facial expression that he was shocked at her confession of loving him.
"Look, Mariah, we had fun, and I liked you a lot, but I am not in love with you. You know we aren’t Mates and not meant to be together," Ethan said
"So now you are worried about us not being Mates? You weren’t worried about Mates for the last two years," Mariah replied
"Look, Mariah. I am not going to argue with you. We are over, and I hope we can stay friends," Ethan said
"I can’t believe you would do this to me, Ethan. I will never forgive you," Mariah said and stormed past me out of the room.
"Hello, Mariah," I said, but she ignored me. I turned to look at Ethan to see him glaring at me.
"Why do you have to be so childish?" Ethan asked as I walked into his room.
"It’s funny you are calling me childish when you are the one that fucked someone and then broke up with them right after," I said
"You fuck many women that you don’t care about," Ethan said as he went to his walk-in closet to find some clothes to put on.
"Exactly, I don’t care about them, and they don’t really care about me. We have an agreement that it is just sex. That way, I get to avoid the drama like what you just went through with Mariah. The girl said she loves you, man," I said, and he laughed.
"She doesn’t love me. She only wants to become Luna. The only one that will become our Luna is our Mate," Ethan said, and I agreed. Since we are twins, that means we will share the same Mate. My brother and I were worried we would never find her because we were almost twenty-two and still hadn’t found her.
"I don’t want to go to this crowning Ceremony. It is basically a reminder that we are still Mateless," I said
"I know, but we have to go. We are the Alphas of the Red Moon Pack. Once it is done, we can leave," I said. My phone rang, and I saw it was Keith calling.
"Hey," I said
"Hey, are you almost here?" Keith asked
"We are pulling up now," I replied.
"Okay, I will wait for you outside," Keith said, and we ended the call.
Once we parked, Keith walked over to our car. We headed into the Blood Moon Packhouse but were stopped by an Alpha who wanted to discuss an alliance. I let my brother do the talking because I would have told him to fuck off if I was the one to answer him.
"Why would you agree to meet with him later?" I asked
"Because they need our help," Ethan said. Suddenly, I smelled the most incredible scent. It smelt like Roses and oranges, and I knew Ethan could also smell it.
"Do you smell that?" Ethan asked
"Yes," I replied. We walked towards the amazing smell and ended up standing at a table where Ebony and Keith were sitting with the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
"MATE!" Ethan and I said at the same time. Our Mate looked scared, and her next move hurt my chest. She ran away from us.
