The Newbie God Is Summoning Heroes From Earth [World Creation/ Management]

Chapter 113. He’s Ugly, Wears Weird Clothes, and Can’t Speak. Definitely a Human!

Finding his chance of winning to be extremely low, Helion contemplated whether he should hide.

Although unisightly, as a Level 3 earth element blessed, he can easily create an underground bunker to survive the dragon’s assault. He can even add some small holes for air, so staying underground for a long time isn’t a problem.

‘But I’m too unwilling to just hide.’ Helion frowned as he looked up at the dragons circling in the sky. He patted his pocket, which was much lighter than when he’d first begun his journey. Inside were the processed materials he used to cast magic. But now, only a few remained.

Without money or people to purchase materials, creating processed materials to cast magic is extremely difficult. Which is why Helion tried to use his blessed power as much as possible.

But his compatibility against the dragons is just downright bad.

Even though he’s a Level 3 blessed. As an earth element blessed, fighting against airborne enemies is too energy-consuming.

While in thought, Helion sees that the dragons are ready to make another move. This time, all four large dragons joined the fight and swooped down at the same time.

Seeing four building-sized dragons falling toward him at high speed, Helion felt it was his best chance to win and began to use his full power. As long as he successfully killed the four massive dragons, the other dragons aren’t much of a threat. There might even be a chance they’ll disperse.

Helion gritted his teeth and used his precious materials to cast several spells.

Before casting any magic, he created several earth pillars and walls with his blessed power to block and delay the dragons. Then, he picked materials to cast water and wind magic.

While the dragons moved closer, Helion began imbuing his mana into the materials. The first one is water magic that immediately activates and shoots a massive blob of water toward the dragons.

With the dragons drenched in water, Helion activated the special wind magic that blew freezing air toward the dragons.

The water that drenched the dragons immediately froze, which, when coupled with the chilly wind, stiffened the dragon’s movements.

With their bodies stiffened, the dragons couldn’t flap their wings and began to fall. The inertia caused the four of them to shoot downward like four meteors.

While escaping from the falling dragons, Helion calculated the site of impact for the four dragons and began pouring his mana to create four reinforced earth spikes by madly increasing the density that made up the earth spikes.

The moment those dragons almost reached the ground, the earth spikes Helion had prepared immediately shot upward, their sharp, pointed tips aimed at the falling dragons.

The dragons’ momentum caused them to be impaled by the spikes. Luckily, all four reinforced earth spikes successfully pierced the dragons, and they seemed to be dying.

Seeing the bleeding dragons whose bodies have been impaled, Helion looked at the sky. He could see five dragons still flying in the sky.

After sensing he had less than twenty percent mana remaining, Helion immediately decided to hide and recover his mana.

With his earth blessing, Helion controlled the ground under him to swallow him. He continuously controlled his power to dig deeper while maintaining several small tunnels that led to the ground for air circulation.

Once he felt he was deep enough, Helion used his blessed power to reinforce the small tunnels and the underground bunker several times before he began training to recover his mana.

By circulating the earth element training method, Helion could slightly increase his mana recovery rate by absorbing the mana from the surrounding soil.

While recovering, he could hear the dragons making some noises, but Helion ignored them.

After several hours, Helion has recovered half of his mana and decided it's time to resurface.

Enlarging one of the tunnels he has created for air circulation, Helion climbed while listening to any noises.

When he didn't hear any trace of the dragons, Helion finally left the tunnel.

On the ground, several dragon corpses still sprawled around. But now, there are no longer any traces of living dragons.

He glanced at the dragons before deciding to peel some scales from the strongest dragon. After all, that scale seems extremely sturdy and might come in use.

After collecting a few scales, Helion returned to his camping ground and froze.

"Huh?" He stared blankly at his camping equipment that seemed to have been ravaged by several meteors. On the place where the tent and firewood previously stood, there's only a broken tent and several craters left.

Seeing the claw marks on his tent, Helion’s eyes twitched as he rubbed his face in disbelief. “These dragons are quite smart, but so darn shameless. After attacking and failing, they actually took revenge by destroying my camping equipment!”

Helion felt exhausted just thinking about having to camp outdoors without his gear.

“I can already feel my joints aching like other people my age,” he muttered while salvaging whatever items were still usable.

After an hour, holding a slightly dented pan that somehow survived the dragon's assault, Helion continued moving deeper into the northern mountain range.

Before that, he recalled that the dragons had flown from the northwest, so Helion decided to move northeast in hopes of avoiding any more rogue dragons.

Thankfully, he didn’t encounter any others until the mountain range ended and a vast forest stretched out before him.

Still, his hatred for the dragons lingered. Especially whenever his back or knees ached from having to sleep on the hard ground after they destroyed his sleeping bag.

Helion slightly shook his head and focused his gaze on the forest in front of him.

Currently, he stood at the peak of a mountain, so he could see quite a distance away.

No matter how hard he squinted his eyes, Helion couldn't see any more mountains in the distance.

He checked the amount of processed materials he had just recently created by gathering materials in the mountains. Although it's not a lot, it should be enough for him to save himself in an emergency.

"It's not like there are a lot of dangerous beasts at the level of that shameless dragon group. They're most likely already the strongest predator around."

Thus, Helion decided to move toward the forest.

Upon entering the forest, Helion could see that the vegetation around seemed quite different compared to the mountain ranges.

The deeper into the forest, the more different the plants are.

Luckily, there are still a few plants he’s familiar with. For example, there’s a nearby tree with round greenish-red fruits.

Helion recalled seeing them often while he was still in the Temple. They were among the trees usually planted in the gardens, and passing priests would often pick a few fruits as snacks.

Feeling his stomach rumble, Helion moved toward the tree to pick a few fruits. But after picking a few fruits that were growing extremely close to each other, he felt a bit doubtful.

“Isn’t there too much fruit in the trees? Or is this its natural state without being constantly consumed by the priests? Are the priests in the Temple so voracious?”

The more Helion looked at the trees, the more doubtful he became. Compared to the trees he usually eats, the amount of fruit is more than three times higher.

In case it only looks like a tree he’s familiar with, but actually contains a dangerous toxin. Helion decided to use a potion he had made after gathering ingredients in the mountain with difficulty.

The potion’s effect is simple. It's used to test whether a natural food contains certain toxins or not. The potion has been made to react in a certain way upon coming into contact with different dangerous substances usually found in foods.

After having a stomachache upon eating bad food, Helion has raised the importance of this potion and spent several days gathering ingredients.

He poured a single drop of the potion toward the fruit in his hand. After seeing that the potions didn’t react at all, Helion finally took a bite of the fruits.

‘It tastes familiar. Just a bit sweeter.’ He thought while chewing on the fruits.

After eating a few fruits and picking a few to be eaten along the way, Helion continued to move to the north.

During his travels, Helion occasionally saw other familiar trees. But the fruits that grew on them are at least ten percent more than the amount he usually saw.

He immediately concluded that perhaps the forest’s soils are especially suitable for plants.

To his surprise, when he walked even deeper, Helion even saw plants that might be suitable to be processed as material to cast magic.

As for why it’s just ‘might be possible’, it's because when it comes to magic, Helion is still in a trial and error process. He has some material processing recipes that he has perfected to a certain extent. But he still needs to experiment on whether it’s indeed possible or otherwise.

For now, the only basic theory he has is that items that contain massive mana have a higher chance of being processed into materials to cast magic.

Now that he realized there are also precious plants in the forest, Helion advanced more slowly while occasionally picking random flowers, tree branches, tree roots, mushrooms, and other things. Although some lose their efficacy, which made the amount of mana in them has decreased to the point of being unusable. Just the few he successfully foraged should be enough for him to experiment and collect more data, which in turn will improve his theory on magic.

‘Now, I just need to find a suitable place to conduct my experiment. But where can I find one in this godforsaken forest?’ Not long after Helion thought that, he noticed a thin trail of smoke rising in the distance.

Cautiously moving toward the source of that smoke, Helion soon saw a village filled with unique buildings.

Instead of using logs or stones to build houses, they molded trees to become their houses. That means the trees they used as houses are still alive.

“There are people living beyond the northern mountain range!!” Helion got excited and observed closer.

That’s when he realized the villagers are much more good looking than the average people.

Except for their appearance, another thing to note is their ears that’s much longer than normal people.

‘Are those physical mutations?’

Helion has never seen the elves and dwarves that Lacius kidnapped. Thus, his mind didn’t immediately think the elves were from another race.

After observing the elves for a few days and seeing that they don’t have any weird habits like cannibalism, Helion finally made up his mind to visit the village.

The moment he arrived near the village gate, Helion encountered a sharp-eared lady.

The sharp-eared lady pointed at Helion, then at her mouth, before closing her mouth with both of her palms while shaking her head.

Seeing Helion didn't respond, the elf tilted her head slightly.

Meanwhile, after seeing a new person arriving at the village, the few villagers became curious and walked toward Helion.

They chatted with each other before a male elf pointed at Helion while talking to the girl standing next to him, “Hey, don’t you think he looks like the humans that the queen and elder Elisa talked about?”

“Now that you mention it, I guess he indeed fits the description for humans.” The girl said while looking at Helion, “He has short ears like the dwarves, a slightly ugly face, doesn’t speak our language, and wears weird clothes. He indeed fits the description for humans that’s spread on the internet.”
