The Newbie God Is Summoning Heroes From Earth [World Creation/ Management]

Chapter 112. Dragons V.0.1: Four Limbs + Standing Upright = Revenge Target!

With most of his future plans for the world ready, Cedric began contemplating the main topic.

How to lead Helion to create a new force comparable to the Temple.

After thinking for a moment, Cedric felt the human territory was too dangerous for Helion.

He muttered, "Purchasing another [Divine Intervention: Urge] to message him felt like a waste. But, I don't want my involvement to be known."

'If I used [Divine Intervention: Word] or other Divine Intervention items, it'll leave some traces. If Lacius saw those traces, he might realize I am helping Helion to escape from him. At that time, who knows what kind of mess he would make.'

Cedric kneaded his temple from an nonexistent headache. At last, he bought another [Divine Intervention: Urge].

With the [Divine Intervention: Urge] in hand, Cedric imbued the thought of escaping to the north and passing through the mountain ranges.

Once he made sure there was nothing wrong, Cedric activated the [Divine Intervention: Urge] and sent it to Helion.

In the Crystal Cube world, Helion has just left the city controlled by the Temple and is currently riding a horse.

While controlling his horse, Helion recalled the recent events.

'Although I've been calling him the god of alchemy's lookalike, I am almost certain that person might've been the god of alchemy himself, or perhaps the god of alchemy's avatar that has been talked about in the sacred scripture.'

Helion’s guess didn’t come out of nowhere. Usually, the High Priest already acted a bit strangely. But while leading him to the secret room, Helion recalled that his behavior had become even stranger.

'If that person is really the god of alchemy who secretly controlled the Temple, that means I am definitely on the Temple's highest wanted order. After all, not only have I attacked their god, I've also killed the High Priest at that tunnel.'

"I am curious why the god of alchemy killed Level 3 blessed, though." Helion muttered before smiling miserably, 'I suppose it's not yet my turn to care about such a thing. Right now, I need to find a way to survive.'

During his life in the Temple, Helion had learned that the Temple’s influence spread across all kingdoms and empires.

Furthermore, they were either the strongest force in those nations or second only to the royal family.

This meant that hiding in any human kingdom or empire would not be safe.

'So, I only have two choices if I want to survive. Either I went to the southern sea or the northern mountain ranges.' Helion tried to recall the information about both choices.

'On the southern sea, there are many islands with precious resources. If I am lucky, I might be able to find a suitable island to stay, or perhaps I could even become a pirate to collect the items I need for further research on magic. But I'll need to spend money to rent or buy a ship. Furthermore, I'll need some sailors and people experienced with navigation to survive there, which will leave traces for the Temple to follow.'

‘As for the northern mountain range, the Temple records say it’s filled with precious resources but also extreme dangers. It’s an undeveloped land with no trace of civilization, which means I’d have to live like a primitive man forever, or at least until I gain enough power.’

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Helion gritted his teeth in anger. The faith he’d held toward the god of alchemy, built through years of indoctrination since childhood, crumbled as he cursed the deity several times.

At last, Helion decided to give up any resemblance of comfort in exchange for his safety and a chance of revenge. After all, it'll be more difficult to find various materials to cast magic in the southern sea compared to the northern mountain ranges.

He stopped his horse, climbed a tree, and looked at the evening sun to find the direction toward the north.

Once he found it, Helion climbed down from the tree and rode his horse once more.

For the next few months, Helion rode without stopping. Occasionally, he’d encounter bandits or demons, but he easily dealt with them using his Level 3 blessed powers. He even managed to earn some money from the bandits he subdued.

Every time he passed through a city, Helion only bought essential supplies like camping equipment, food, and potions. He also traded his exhausted horse for a new one, which further strained his already meager finances.

After nearly collapsing from exhaustion, he finally arrived at a city bordering the northern mountain range.

As usual, Helion hid his appearance carefully, applied makeup to alter his face in case he needed to show it, and made a few other adjustments to disguise himself.

Only when he looked like a man in his early forties did Helion enter the city.

Because he’d be staying in the Northern Mountain Range for a very long time, he needed to buy a lot of necessities.

While looking at the city gate from afar, Helion noticed a stark difference compared to the other cities he had entered before.

For one, the number of guards stationed there had greatly increased. Moreover, several people wearing knight armor were also standing guard.

With his enhanced eyesight after reaching Level 3, Helion hid a fair distance away from the city and focused on the gate.

He immediately recognized the armor those knights wore. It was the same armor used by the Temple Knights.

He also noticed a knight clad in a distinctive suit of armor speaking with another. Helion recognized it at once as the armor of a high-ranking Temple Knight, said to be forged from the carapace of a demon king.

Helion instantly knew something was wrong.

'Has the Temple found my trail? Well, I didn’t exactly try to hide it too carefully, so they should’ve been able to guess I was heading north. Luckily, I’ve been moving constantly, so they only caught up now that I’m almost at the Northern Mountain Range.'

"Although it's a pity, I guess I won't be able to resupply for the last time." Helion looked wistfully at the city before riding his horse to leave and directly enter the northern mountain range.

To make sure he won't accidentally get caught by the search party the Temple might send, Helion decided to enter as deep as he could.

Helion continued moving north and soon could see a seemingly endless mountain range. From afar, it looks more like a wall rather than a mountain range.

Helion continued moving deeper into the mountain range. Because of the rough terrain and the sheer number of magical beasts roaming about, even with the physical abilities he’d gained from reaching Level 3, he often found himself exhausted.

After half a month filled with traveling, resting, foraging for food, and getting lost. Helion was setting up camp as usual when he noticed several dark spots in the sky.

He narrowed his eyes to get a better look as the dots slowly grew larger.

Before long, he could clearly see their true forms. “Are those… dragons? But I thought they only lived near the southern sea. And why are there so many of them?”

Even though he could see the dragons, Helion didn’t panic. According to the information he’d received from the Temple, most dragons in the south were relatively tame. As long as people didn’t attract their attention or attack them, they wouldn’t cause any trouble.

After calculating that the dragons wouldn’t pass directly overhead, Helion decided to continue setting up camp.

He occasionally glanced up to check their direction, but before long, his expression darkened. “Those dragons seem to have changed their flight path. They’re moving closer to my location.”

Helion looked at the camp he had just built and realized it might’ve drawn their attention. Gritting his teeth, he decided to abandon it and move away.

Based on the Temple's records, every southern sea dragon has incredible strength. In general, they're around as strong as Level 2 blessed due to their gigantic body. Thankfully, there aren't many of them in the southern sea.

That's why, with so many dragons flying towards him, Helion felt it was wiser to discard his camp rather than fight a group of Level 2 blessed.

He quickly moved toward the area with thicker trees to hide. But when he glanced at the dragons, Helion found they had also changed their flight direction toward his location.

"Are they actually chasing after me?" Helion saw the dragons that were already extremely close and prepared for combat.

Soon, he could see thirteen dragons floating in the sky above him.

From the ground, Helion could see that the larger dragons had scars on their abdomens or torn wings, forcing them to flap one wing more frequently.

Although the scene looks a bit comical, Helion still gulped from nervousness while analyzing the dragons.

Among the thirteen dragons, four were noticeably larger than the rest. One of them, bearing two massive scars on its abdomen, was especially huge compared to other dragons.

'The dragons can fly. If a battle starts, I'll be at a massive disadvantage. Luckily, this area is full of thick trees that can serve as obstacles to their flight.'

Helion quickly prepared his battle plan. At the same time, the dragons began their assault.

While most dragons still flew in the sky, one of the dragons swooped toward his location.

When Helion saw one of the dragons swooping down, he immediately jumped to the side, which made him successfully escape from the dragon's claws.

Because of the weight and size of the dragon, that missed claw strike has directly caused a massive hole in the ground.

After missing, the dragon immediately flew back to the sky without giving Helion any chance to counterattack.

Helion gulped and kept his eyes on the thirteen flying dragons while constantly preparing his counterattack when they swooped down.

After a nerve-racking wait, three dragons finally swooped down at high speed toward Helion's location. Helion quickly escaped from the claw strike and used the blessed ability he had prepared.

Before the dragons could fly far into the sky, the earth below them immediately rose and turned into spikes.

One of the three dragons managed to dodge the earth spike, another one was knocked aside and crashed into a tree, while the last had its wing and part of its body pierced by the spike, sending it plummeting to the ground.

Helion didn't waste his time and immediately delivered several earth spikes to the fallen dragons. One spike went to the dragon that's already injured, while two spikes grew from the ground to target the dragons that just fell down after hitting a tree.

The earth spike targeting the injured dragon easily pierced through its body and killed it. Meanwhile, the dragon that had just knocked down a tree responded in time and swept its tail to destroy one of the spikes.

Thankfully, the other earth spike successfully pierced it. With such deep injuries, the dragon is already dying. So, Helion looked at the sky.

There are ten dragons still circling above him.

Helion suddenly paused, 'ten?'

He frantically searched around and saw that one of the massive dragons had hidden itself between the tree leaves. It's not exactly hiding because the wind from its flight caused the trees to flutter unnaturally, but that still allowed it to close the distance with Helion while he's busy in combat.

Realizing its hiding spot has been found, the dragon quickly sweeps down toward Helion.

At the same time, five other dragons also sweep down toward him. Among them, there's one of the bigger dragons with torn wings.

The swooping dragons descended like a meteor shower. In a panic, Helion raised several earth walls to block their charge while dodging the spots they aimed for. Three of the dragons crashed into the walls he created, with two falling, while the larger one shattered the wall on impact but remained conscious. As for the other two, they managed to maneuver and avoid the walls entirely.

Thankfully, the earth walls delayed the dragons just enough. Using that moment, Helion escaped and glanced back, seeing three massive craters where he had stood moments ago.

‘Damn it, the Temple’s records said these dragons weren’t aggressive! Which part of thirteen-on-one isn’t aggressive?!’ he cursed inwardly while checking the mana left in his body.

‘I’ve already spent over twenty percent of my mana, yet only four dragons are incapacitated. The two that hit their heads might recover soon, and the strongest one hasn’t even moved yet.’

Helion felt a throbbing pain in his head.
