An Awakener with the Gamer Class

Chapter 98: Gacha

Enzo realized the enormous danger posed by this red-winged monkey. It might even be far stronger than the chicken.

Without thinking any further, he made Violet drink her last C-Regen.

Enzo didn’t dare say that Violet could win while she was still in less-than-optimal condition.

Of course, he had no intention of simply making Violet run away.

This monkey was a huge opportunity.

The EXP it provided had to be substantial.

Shua!

Violet leaped without looking back.

BANG!

The monkey slammed into the spot where she had been before leaping after her.

The result far exceeded Enzo’s expectations.

A sizable crater was created in the ground.

The earth collapsed under the sheer force of the impact.

Even a thick steel wall would probably be punched straight through by a blow from this monkey.

Its physical strength was simply too powerful.

But the real problem was that it had wings.

Shua!

It immediately charged toward Violet, who was still in midair.

If measured, its speed was probably slightly faster than Violet’s maximum speed, even after she had reached Level 26.

This was certainly shocking.

Violet had gained additional attributes from Enzo, on top of the boosts provided by her equipment and her talent, which tripled her Agility.

She had always held the advantage in speed against monsters several levels above her.

Without that advantage, things became extremely dangerous.

’Can’t fool around with this one,’ Enzo thought.

This time, Violet had to put all her cards on the table and finish it with a single attack.

If that failed, running away would be her only option.

Violet concealed her figure.

She sent Instant Death toward the monkey. It looked startled, but its forward momentum didn’t seem to decrease at all, as though the powerful force behind its charge had already carried it forward.

Her left eye began to glow.

Eye of Time was activated.

This was the only thing that could truly change the situation.

The monkey slowed down.

Violet finally landed before it could reach her.

Buzz!

Violet’s head transformed into a bull’s head, and a dark sphere immediately spread outward, enveloping everything.

The enemy could no longer see or sense her.

It couldn’t even see its surroundings anymore because of the darkness.

Naturally, this created the perfect opportunity for her to kill it.

If her attack was stopped even under these conditions, then there was nothing more to say.

She was simply weaker.

Whoosh!

She charged toward the monkey with all her strength while its movements were drastically slowed.

Instead of using her claws or dagger, Violet chose her Wind Spear.

She thrust it straight into the monkey’s chest.

Xiu!

Its powerful body was certainly not made of steel.

It couldn’t withstand the sharpness of a spear driven forward with tremendous speed and force.

The spear didn’t merely pierce through its chest.

It passed straight through.

Its heart was punctured.

There was no such thing as missing for Violet.

Her attacks would always strike vital points because of her killing instinct.

DING!

(Your character has killed a Level 31 Monster. You and your character have received 300,000,000 EXP!)

(You have received 1,500 SP!)

[EXP: 1,000,000,000/1,200,000,000]

[SP: 10,050]

The notifications appeared.

Even though the monkey was only one level higher than the chicken, the EXP it provided was significantly greater.

This proved that the winged monkey was indeed more formidable.

If Violet hadn’t leveled up, even using all her abilities, there was no guarantee she would have succeeded.

Although the EXP wasn’t enough to level her up again, the amount of SP made both Enzo’s and Violet’s eyes shine.

This was exactly what Enzo had been waiting for.

With this many points, he might be able to get another S-Class Talent.

Whoosh!

Violet immediately leaped away and ran until she reached a safe location.

Unfortunately, the red-winged monkey didn’t drop any items after it died.

’Spin the Gacha with 10,000 SP for Violet!’ he ordered mentally.

He couldn’t wait any longer.

The more Enzo observed Violet, the more he realized that she had many weaknesses despite her numerous advantages.

Those weaknesses needed to be covered.

And a new talent wasn’t necessarily the answer.

Skills alone weren’t enough.

Take Water Controller, for example.

It was a B-Class Talent and honestly wasn’t even worth mentioning.

DING!

(You have spent 10,000 System Points to spin the Gacha for your character, Violet Muller!)

[SP: 50]

The spin began.

Enzo stared at the result without blinking.

The wait only lasted a moment, but it was enough to make him extremely tense.

The result could easily have failed to meet his expectations.

It might have only been an A-Class Talent.

If that happened, all he could do was sigh endlessly until he eventually forgot about it.

DING!

(Gacha Spin complete. Your character has obtained an S-Class Talent, Fluctuation Controller!)

(Fluctuation Controller: A talent that allows the user to connect to and control fluctuations through their own mind, enabling the user to transform their body into fluctuations themselves. This talent comes without any skills, but fluctuations can be controlled in conjunction with all kinds of skills!)

[Name: Violet Muller]

[Level: 25]

[EXP: 1,000,000,000/1,200,000,000]

[Talents:]

- Super Assassin (S)

- Water Controller (B)

- Demon Tree Transformation (A)

- Fluctuation Controller (S)

When Violet actually obtained an S-Class Talent, Enzo was confused.

Fluctuation Controller?

The description didn’t make much sense to him.

He wasn’t even sure whether this was truly worthy of being called an S-Class Talent.

Reading the description wasn’t enough.

He tried to understand it by sensing Violet’s body through his perception.

Little by little, he began to understand.

And the more he understood, the more he felt that this could be one of the most terrifying S-Class Talents of all.

The word fluctuation here couldn’t be understood according to its ordinary meaning.

Looking at the origin of the term, it would be more accurate to call it a wave.

And that was exactly what this talent dealt with—waves.

But these weren’t waves like those found in water.

They were quantum fluctuations that practically existed everywhere.

They could travel at any speed.

They could penetrate anything.

They could become a propulsive force or a penetrating force.

Since they already existed everywhere, there was no need for Mana to generate them.

All that was needed was the mind to control them.

The stronger the user’s mind, the wider the range of fluctuations they could control.

Only transforming one’s own body into fluctuations would require Mana.

However, that wasn’t nearly as easy as the description made it sound.

Enzo realized that Violet transforming herself into fluctuations was completely impossible at her current level.

The amount of Mana required was simply too enormous.

She couldn’t even do it until her body underwent a certain evolution.

Even the evolution she would obtain upon reaching Level 31 wouldn’t be enough.

And controlling fluctuations with her mind, despite sounding simple, could put an enormous burden on her mind as well.

It wasn’t nearly as easy as the description suggested.

This could indeed be considered one of the strongest S-Class Talents.

But its power wasn’t something that could be used casually.

Yet even without controlling fluctuations, simply connecting to them already provided incredible benefits.

Once connected, Violet could sense everything within the range of the fluctuations linked to her.

The sensation was incredibly clear, far beyond what she could perceive through ordinary sight.

She could even read the text displayed on a phone or any other device simply by sensing its fluctuations.

What could be more incredible than that?

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The trees in front of Violet, across an area nearly as large as a football field, were blasted away by an invisible force.

Half of them were even shattered into pieces as the force penetrated deep into their trunks.

And all it took was a single thought.

Without Enzo ordering her to, Violet suddenly grabbed her own head, her brows furrowing.

She didn’t feel any pain, nor did she have the awareness to understand what was happening.

Yet her body instinctively held her head because of the overwhelming pressure.

The attack she had produced was astonishing for her current level and stats.

But it placed an enormous burden on her mind.

If she were a real human, she would probably feel a headache.

Doing something that caused pain in her head could easily lead to psychological trauma, even if that was the only side effect.

Fortunately, Violet wasn’t human.

And what she felt didn’t affect Enzo at all.

’Restrictions don’t matter as long as the power is real,’ Enzo thought with a chuckle.

He finally smiled, completely satisfied.

But then his expression froze.

He saw Emma approaching with a food container.

It was only 10:30 in the morning.

It wasn’t even lunchtime yet.

She had come early.

Other people didn’t pay any attention to it, but Enzo knew exactly why.

Knock! Knock!

The woman knocked on the door of his post with a cold expression.

No one noticed except Enzo.

And Enzo became slightly worried.

Knock! Knock!

The woman knocked again because he still hadn’t moved to open the door.

Enzo sighed and reluctantly stood after sending Violet into the nearest concealed pit, which was meant to serve as a hiding place.

He opened the door.

This time, Emma didn’t simply stand outside and hand him the food.

She stepped inside first, seemingly unconcerned because she knew no one was paying any attention to her.

Then she closed the door.

"Did they move up the food distribution schedule today?" Enzo asked jokingly.

"This is food I bought myself. Monster lobster meat. Since you’re my boyfriend, I figured I should do a few things to make you happy," Emma replied.

Enzo merely rolled his eyes when he heard that.

Looking at the red meat inside the container, he knew it was going to be delicious.
