An Awakener with the Gamer Class

Chapter 97: Waypoint

DING!

(Teleportation Portal: Not an artifact, but something that emerged from the dimension itself. It can be used to teleport anywhere by supplying it with Mana!)

A notification suddenly appeared, making both Violet and Abel even more shocked.

"Waypoint," Abel said, his eyes lighting up. "We actually found a Waypoint. I didn’t expect a Waypoint to be a portal. I thought they were statues, like in most games."

"What is a Waypoint?" Violet asked.

This was something Enzo had never heard of either.

Of course, he didn’t expect it to work exactly like a Waypoint in a game.

"Yeah, basically just like the description says. It can transport us from one place to another. Of course, it isn’t cheap. With the amount of Mana we have at Level 30 and below, we could probably only teleport about five kilometers at most. People usually use Mana Extract as its energy source.

"The best part is that once we’ve used it at least once, we can return to this Waypoint from anywhere. Of course, we still need enough Mana to do it. The farther we are from the Waypoint, the more Mana it requires. All it takes is a thought, as long as there’s Mana or Mana Extract inside our bodies. The Waypoint will absorb it automatically."

"If we report this to the Association, they’ll reward us. They’ll also build something here to protect the portal."

"Oh..." Violet showed a look of amazement before her expression turned strange.

The portal was obviously not the only thing here, even though it was the most astonishing discovery.

Besides the portal, there were two sets of armor with rows of spikes along their backs and horns on their helmets. One was silver, while the other was glossy black.

Both were A+ Class, though their functions were slightly different.

The silver armor was more flexible, making it suitable for a knight, while the black armor was heavier and better suited for someone with great physical strength.

Silver armor was fairly common, but it was usually only A Class. The horns and spikes were signs of A+ Class quality, which was on an entirely different level.

The stat bonuses they provided were naturally much higher.

An A+ Class armor was certainly far more valuable than ordinary weapons.

After finally seeing the two sets of armor on the left and right sides, Abel immediately became excited and hurried toward the right side.

"I want the silver one," he said, immediately taking the armor.

Violet frowned slightly but ultimately didn’t argue. She took the black armor.

"With less contribution, yet you still chose first. Then this portal will belong to me. Do you have a problem with that?" Violet asked coldly.

"The portal?"

Abel was stunned.

"You want to take the reward for yourself?" he asked.

"Isn’t that a little too much? The reward could be worth as much as an A+ Class armor."

Abel immediately looked displeased.

"No, you’re misunderstanding me. I mean I want to take it for myself, not report it to the Association," Violet replied.

"Are you serious?" Abel froze.

"This isn’t something you can simply pick up and carry away. No one has ever been able to do that."

"You don’t need to worry about that. You’d better leave now."

As she said that, Violet revealed her claws, causing Abel to freeze.

She wasn’t merely asking him to leave.

She was threatening him.

If he refused, she might attack.

"This isn’t fair," Abel protested, still feeling as though he’d been tricked because the portal could potentially provide them with a reward they could split between themselves.

Even if he hadn’t contributed much, he was still the one who had discovered this place.

Naturally, it was unfair for him to receive less simply because Violet had been the one to choose between the two sets of armor.

Both had roughly equal value, with their own advantages. The silver one just happened to suit him better.

Of course, considering Violet’s fighting style, the silver armor would also suit her better than the heavier black armor.

But that could be exchanged.

There would surely be someone who wanted it and happened to possess the silver version.

Or it could be traded for another treasure of equal value.

"This is already very fair," Violet replied, taking a step toward him.

Just seeing that step was enough to frighten Abel.

He immediately leaped into the air and flew away.

The moment he left, the monkeys immediately began moving toward the tree.

Naturally, they wouldn’t allow someone they had detected to remain nearby.

Violet remained calm.

Before the monkeys could arrive, she approached the portal.

It couldn’t be taken or carried away.

That was how it was supposed to be—or rather, that was how it worked because no one else had the means to do so.

But the moment Enzo saw the portal, he realized something.

The Ring of Star, the legacy left behind by his father, could actually do it.

The portal seemed almost like a small fragment of the Ring of Star.

The problem was that the Ring of Star was with him.

Yet through the screen, Enzo realized that he could actually control the portal.

That was why his expression had become strange, which was then reflected in Violet’s expression.

Buzz!

The portal shrank according to his thoughts.

It moved toward Violet’s hand and landed in her palm, becoming no larger than a ring.

With another command, the portal even entered Violet’s ring.

Of course, being able to control it didn’t mean they could teleport anywhere without restriction.

It still required Mana.

It was like a machine that couldn’t function without energy.

The power of the stars within the ring continued to raise countless questions in Enzo’s mind.

He still wasn’t certain what this so-called star power actually was.

Was it gravity? A supernova? Both? Or something else entirely that he didn’t understand?

Now, he realized that the portal might actually be a part of the power of the stars.

Violet looked at the monkeys that were beginning to leap toward the tree’s entrance.

Her gaze locked onto one of them that was Level 30.

Shua!

She lunged forward, passing through the other monkeys and appearing directly in front of the Level 30 Monkey.

It was enormous, standing three times taller than her.

Her claws tore straight through its chest, reaching its heart.

Break!

Her claws ripped its heart apart, causing the blood inside its body to gush out.

Killing a Level 30 Monster was far too easy for her now.

DING!

(Your character has killed a Level 30 Monster. You and your character have received 10,000,000 EXP!)

[EXP: 510,000,000/700,000,000]

The notification appeared, and Enzo felt quite pleased.

Ten million EXP.

That was quite worthwhile.

After all, Violet had only needed a single move.

She then observed how many Level 30 Monkeys there were.

There were actually far more than she had expected.

They had been hiding before, but now they were revealing themselves.

Their numbers even exceeded her calculations.

Still in midair, Violet took out another Level 3 C-Regen Bottle containing green liquid.

She drank it immediately because her condition was far from optimal after fighting the chicken, which had forced her to activate Head of Bull of Darkness.

There was no point in continuing to save the potion.

Once she passed Level 30, it would no longer be useful.

Her Stamina and Mana immediately recovered.

Then her left eye turned white and began to glow, changing the scenery from her perspective.

Everything appeared to slow down.

Eye of Time had been activated.

If she wanted to finish this quickly, she needed to use it.

Shua! Shua! Shua!

Violet moved toward each Level 30 Monkey, killing them one after another.

In the distance, Abel naturally saw everything.

He hadn’t gone too far yet.

From the air, he could clearly see the battle.

From his perspective, nothing had slowed down.

Instead, Violet had simply become too fast.

Far too fast.

His eyes could no longer follow her movements.

The only thing he could clearly see was that each Level 30 Monkey died with its chest torn open.

’How is she that fast? How high is her Agility? This makes no sense. Even a Level 31 Awakener is nowhere near this fast.’

Seeing this, Abel became even more frightened of Violet.

’I’m leaving!’

He decided to distance himself, realizing that this woman was far too dangerous.

Getting close to her was no different from walking straight into danger.

DING!

The increase in their stats this time made Enzo quite happy.

They had each gained a total of 320 points.

’That’s appropriate for the difficulty,’ Enzo thought.

Whoosh!

Violet immediately ran away from the area.

There wasn’t even any SP.

Enzo didn’t think it was worth having Violet continue fighting the monkeys, even though she still had around 30% of her Stamina remaining.

But then Enzo saw something that made him confused.

A much larger monkey had appeared.

Its body was red and covered in muscles.

What was most astonishing about the monkey, however, was the pair of wings on its back.

It was flying with them.

DING!

(Monster Level 31!)
