Hello, Comrade. I'm Here to Marry You!

Chapter 313: She's So Dizzy

Su Zhaozhao quickly changed the subject.

“I’m not that familiar with Beijing myself, so this is the perfect chance. Let’s ask Huai Zheng to come with us.”

As she said this, Su Zhaozhao grabbed Xie Huaizheng’s hand.

Xie Huaizheng smiled at them. “Alright, I’ll be your guide.”

Beijing was home to countless famous attractions, many of which were steeped in historical charm.

They started their tour in the area around their hotel.

There was a famous park near the hotel, filled with quaint, traditional architecture and already bustling with tourists.

Su Zhaozhao looked around. It was no different from the Temple of Heaven Park in her own world.

‘So novel worlds are based on real life after all, huh?’

‘Maybe the author based this on her own world when she wrote this part?’

“How about we take a picture?” Xie Huaizheng asked.

Li Chunhong glanced at the photographers taking pictures for tourists nearby. “The photographers here look quite popular,” she said. “We’d probably have to wait.”

Just then, Xie Huaizheng pulled a camera from the bag he was carrying.

“No need. I brought a camera.”

Su Zhaozhao stared at the camera in Xie Huaizheng’s hands, astonished. “Huai Zheng, when did you buy a camera? I had no idea.”

‘No wonder he insisted on bringing a bag today. He must have secretly bought a camera.’

‘He planned to take pictures for us… was this supposed to be a surprise for me?’

“If I had told you, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise, would it?” Xie Huaizheng noted the astonishment on Su Zhaozhao’s face, the corners of his lips curving upward.

This was precisely the effect he was aiming for.

‘This kind of surprise is better for Zhaozhao, isn’t it?’

“But you don’t have to keep it a secret from me! I would have been pleasantly surprised no matter when you told me.”

“Should we take a picture of Grandma and Grandpa first?”

Xie Huaizheng asked Su Zhaozhao.

Su Zhaozhao immediately nodded. “Okay.”

Xie Huaizheng first took a picture of Li Chunhong and Xu Yingmin, then of the uncles’ families, and finally a big group photo.

Su Zhaozhao knew that digital cameras didn’t exist yet. They were using the most traditional kind of film, where every shot meant using up one frame.

You couldn’t review them, either. You had to wait until you could take the film to a shop to be developed.

But Xie Huaizheng showed no reservation, snapping photos of whatever he pleased. He took a whole series of shots of Su Zhaozhao in particular.

Su Zhaozhao was a little exasperated.

“Can you stop taking my picture? I was just yawning!”

“You look beautiful even when you’re yawning. Really, Zhaozhao. Trust me.”

The real reason Xie Huaizheng had bought the camera was to capture Su Zhaozhao’s everyday moments.

Whether she was sleeping, yawning, eating, or just spacing out, he wanted to record it all.

To him, these candid, slice-of-life photos felt far more vivid and worthy of being recorded than the stiff, posed shots people usually took at tourist attractions.

And he wasn’t wrong. Su Zhaozhao was incredibly photogenic; even a picture of her yawning turned out beautifully.

“Are you nuts, Xie Huaizheng?”

After saying her piece, Su Zhaozhao snatched the camera from Xie Huaizheng and took a few shots of him as well.

Su Zhaozhao’s antics made Xie Huaizheng laugh. He reached for the camera in her hands, but she dodged out of his reach.

She ran off, and Xie Huaizheng quickly chased after her.

The sight of the young couple’s playful bickering made everyone in the Xu Family feel quite sentimental.

“Oh my, it seems the two of them have a wonderful relationship,” Li Chunhong said with a laugh.

“They’re already married. How can they still be so childish?” Xu Ziyang grumbled.

But even though he was complaining, his eyes held a hint of emotion.

‘If anything ever developed between him and Jiaxin in the future, he hoped they could be as natural and comfortable with each other as Su Zhaozhao and Xie Huaizheng were. That would be the best possible outcome.’

‘But that day would have to actually arrive first.’

‘He was quite envious of Su Zhaozhao and Xie Huaizheng right now.’

‘They were truly in love and were able to marry. For many people in this world, that was an incredibly rare blessing.’

Su Zhaozhao, however, had only run a few steps when she suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.

It made her legs go weak, and she nearly stumbled to the ground.

Xie Huaizheng rushed forward, catching her in his arms with quick reflexes. He looked down at Su Zhaozhao. “What’s wrong? Zhaozhao, are you okay?”

“I’m okay. I might just be a little tired. I feel a bit dizzy,” Su Zhaozhao said, rubbing her temples with a sigh.

But it was only for a moment. Just as suddenly, she felt her energy return.

“You should rest.” Xie Huaizheng took the camera from her hands, wondering if its weight had exhausted her.

This camera was a model that Xie Huaizheng had someone preorder for him. It was the most advanced model currently on the market—expensive, with high-end specs, so the camera itself was also large and heavy.

‘Zhaozhao probably got tired from holding this camera, didn’t she?’

Su Zhaozhao let Xie Huaizheng lead her to a nearby bench to sit down.

“Grandpa, Grandma, Zhaozhao’s a bit tired. She needs to rest here for a while. Why don’t you two go on and explore? We can meet back here later.”

“Are you alright, Zhaozhao?” Li Chunhong asked, turning to Su Zhaozhao.

Su Zhaozhao shook her head. “I’m fine. I’ll be okay after a little rest.”

At that moment, Xie Huaizheng was twisting open a thermos and pouring Su Zhaozhao a cup of water.

The weather was cold, and Xie Huaizheng, thinking Su Zhaozhao had a somewhat delicate constitution, believed she shouldn’t drink cold water. That was why he had made a point to bring it from home.

Su Zhaozhao took a couple of sips, and the warm water instantly made her feel a bit better.

Seeing that Su Zhaozhao really was fine, Li Chunhong and the others continued deeper into the park.

Now, only Su Zhaozhao and Xie Huaizheng were left on the bench.

Xie Huaizheng looked at Su Zhaozhao, his expression full of worry. “Are you really okay?”

Su Zhaozhao nodded. “I’m fine, don’t worry.”

Xie Huaizheng still wasn’t reassured. He reached out, gently rubbing Su Zhaozhao’s wrist and observing her complexion. Once he was certain she was fine, he said, “Don’t go running around like that next time. You need to take it easy with your constitution. You’re probably just exhausted from the wedding yesterday.”

Su Zhaozhao nodded. “I was thinking the same thing…”

‘The wedding yesterday was exhausting, so that must be why I’m feeling this way.’

After they had rested for a while and the Xu Family had returned from their walk to meet them, they all headed to the next attraction.

Afterward, Xie Huaizheng treated them all to a meal of Beijing’s specialty dishes. They rested after eating, visited one more attraction in the afternoon, and then called it a day and went home.

The attractions in Beijing were all quite large, so by the end of the day’s tour, Su Zhaozhao felt exhausted.

Back home, after she had taken a shower, Xie Huaizheng brought over a basin of hot water for her to soak her feet.

His hands held her delicate, small feet, gently placing them into the water.

“Is the water temperature okay?” Xie Huaizheng asked, looking up at Su Zhaozhao.

Su Zhaozhao nodded. “It’s perfect.”

She squinted her eyes in comfort. Soaking her feet really did make the entire day’s fatigue melt away in an instant.
