Chapter 152 - 106: Liu Jinyu: Su Ran, Let’s Talk About the Relationship Between the Five of Us
"Are you messing with me? This is a personal insult, you know that?" Xiao Wanqing’s domineering aura was on full display.
"Okay, okay, I won’t do it again."
"That’s more like it." She then looked at Su Ran. "Hey, what are you gaping for? Go take a leak?"
Su Ran tossed the empty bottle into the trash can and threw up his hands. "The urge is gone."
Huh...
The four women recoiled in horror, scrambling to push him away as they climbed out of the pool. "You’re so gross! You peed in the pool! I’m going to go take a shower!"
PFFT—
Su Ran was floored once again.
"I didn’t! I just don’t have to go anymore! Hey, hey, don’t leave! You have to believe me! Why would I pee in the pool?! Hey! For crying out loud!"
Furious, Su Ran slammed his fist onto the surface of the water.
...
Time continued to slip by, and soon it was 11:00 PM.
The DING-DING-DING of notifications continued. Su Ran had already made over 30 million.
By now, everyone was tired out from all the fun and had returned to their rooms to rest.
The Riva had five bedrooms, more than enough for the five of them. Naturally, Liu Jinyu would be sleeping in Su Ran’s room—they had a "friendly match" scheduled for the evening, after all.
The master bedroom where Su Ran was staying had a large, round bed. He was lying there in a pair of baggy shorts, playing on his phone for a bit, when Liu Jinyu emerged from the shower, wrapped in a bath towel.
Finally, they could be alone.
The lights went off, plunging the room into darkness. Only the faint moonlight, glittering off the waves, filtered into the bedroom, tracing the barest outlines of their forms. "Don’t mess around yet. I have something to ask you..." Liu Jinyu said, pressing Su Ran’s hand flat against her stomach. "Have you ever thought about the future? For me and the other three?"
"What about the future, specifically?"
"Well..." Liu Jinyu hesitated for a moment, then decided not to beat around the bush. "You’re very popular with girls. I can see that Wanqing and the others all really like you. If things keep going like this, what if... one day... they all end up sleeping with you? After all, besides Yiren, you already have Wanqing’s and Aina’s first kisses."
Liu Jinyu couldn’t resist asking. Some things just needed to be discussed calmly, with all their cards on the table. And right now, she was laying hers bare.
As they say, there’s no smoke without fire.
Liu Jinyu wasn’t asking on a whim. She had been observing them for a long time, and it was true that they had all grown incredibly close. So there were some questions she desperately wanted to ask Su Ran, to get some information from his own mouth.
"Since you’re asking, I’ll be straight with you."
"Mm-hm."
"You’re right. Aina and Wanqing did give me their first kisses. With Aina, it was at the inn. She was drunk, and I guess she was thinking about how I’d helped her out of that mess with the 400 paintings, plus all the little ways I looked out for her during our trip. When the alcohol took over, she gave me her first kiss."
"Then what about the dried yogurt bite?"
"She fed it to me earlier."
"Alright, that’s not what I’m asking. I want to know about the ’what if’ in the future... You know what I mean."
Su Ran thought for a moment. "Well... I haven’t really thought about the future. I’m not the type to dwell on uncertainties down the road and create anxiety for myself in the present. But about your ’what if’... if it really does happen, then I, Su Ran, will not let any woman who gives her first time to me suffer for it!"
Liu Jinyu nodded. She truly believed him on that point. Su Ran wouldn’t wrong his women, and he wouldn’t be a scumbag who’d just hit it and quit it. A real man takes responsibility for his actions. What problem was so big that it couldn’t be handled?
Of course, Su Ran wasn’t saying this to preemptively justify a harem to Liu Jinyu. He was just being honest about their relationships. Besides, Su Ran was the type to enjoy life; he had no interest in dealing with messy, dramatic relationship problems day in and day out. But since Liu Jinyu had asked, he gave her an honest answer about how he would handle things if that ’what if’ came to pass.
This was what Liu Jinyu admired most about Su Ran: his honesty. Or rather than just honesty, it was more of a manly confidence—he didn’t sneak around, creating a messy, toxic drama out of his relationships like some kind of thief. That wasn’t Su Ran’s style. He handled things out in the open. It would be the same for one woman as it would be for two, three, or four. If they were his women, he would cherish them all.
Liu Jinyu wrapped her arms around Su Ran’s neck, her smile in the darkness one of pure relief. "Mm, I’ve always trusted your character. I know you wouldn’t mistreat girls." She truly did trust him. The knowledge that he had spent several days in Shanghai with Xiao Wanqing and that nothing had happened between them settled her heart. Of course, just because nothing had happened yet didn’t mean nothing ever would. After all, they had a long life ahead of them.
But hearing his words put her heart at ease. At least this way, the five of them could keep having fun together. And if something did happen, she knew Su Ran wouldn’t let her best friends down.
Mmm, seeing how carefree and happy the five of them were whenever they were together lately, Liu Jinyu found herself truly wishing they could stay this way forever.
Su Ran asked, "Why are you asking about this? If that ’what if’ really happened, what would you think?"
"If that ’what if’ really happened... I think it’d be pretty normal, right? The four of us are all so beautiful, and you’re so handsome, thoughtful, and rich—any girl would fall for you. Besides, the five of us are already so close. When they went home for the national holiday, they were talking about you in the group chat every single day. It’s all just been happening, subtly, over time. And let me be clear..." Liu Jinyu raised a hand. "I’m saying this objectively, setting our own relationship aside. I’m not trying to act as a pimp for my best friends."
Su Ran stroked Liu Jinyu’s cheek. "I understand. Keep going."
"It’s just that... you’re too amazing. Girls can’t help but be drawn to you. And ever since we met, you’ve helped us out of so many crises. Over time, we’ve all come to depend on you, you know?"
