"I’d like to tell you the same thing."
After saying that, Ava walked into the living room and stood in front of Yume.
"Did you already tell them?"
Yume nodded.
"Yes, they already know about my relationship with Noah."
"How convenient."
Emma looked at Ava, a little surprised.
"You knew?"
Ava answered without taking her eyes off Yume.
"I knew something like this was going to happen."
Noah raised a hand.
"Ava..."
She ignored the warning.
"So now you’re officially his girlfriend."
Yume smiled.
"I hope so."
Ava crossed her arms.
"Don’t get too excited."
Yume blinked and Noah closed his eyes.

"Noah has trouble saying no."

Yume thought about it.

Noah looked at her.

Yume nodded.

Noah looked at both of them.
"Why did this turn into a critique of me?"
Ava ignored the question.
"So if you’re going to be with him, you’d better not cause him any problems."
The atmosphere fell silent, so Noah was about to intervene, but Yume smiled.

Ava frowned and Yume stepped a little closer.
"I understand."
Noah opened his eyes.

Noah stepped between them.

She looked at him.

Yume was still confused.

Sarah covered her mouth with one hand to hide a smile, while Emma seemed to be trying to process too many things at once.
Ava pointed at Yume.
"Don’t talk like that’s already decided!"
Yume tilted her head.
"But we’re a couple."
"That doesn’t mean you’re going to have kids with him!"
Yume turned even redder.
"Well..."
Noah put a hand to his forehead.
’Please, don’t mention that we already had sex.’
Yume managed to stop herself while Ava clenched her teeth, at which Yume looked at her with an understanding expression.
"I understand that you’re worried."
"You don’t understand anything."
"But I promise I’ll take good care of him."
"Stop saying that!"
Noah gently took Ava by the shoulders.
"Come on."
"Let go of me."
"You need to calm down."
"I am calm."
"No, clearly you’re not."
Ava kept staring at Yume, who gave her a kind smile that only made Ava’s expression worse.
Noah ended up pulling her a few steps back and Sarah spoke.
"Ava."
She turned.
"You can’t treat a guest badly."
Ava pressed her lips together.
"I know."
Emma added.
"And if Yume is Noah’s partner, we’re going to have to get used to seeing her."
Ava went motionless while Yume smiled immediately and Noah also reacted.
"So...?"
Emma looked at Yume.
"If Noah is dating you and both of you are okay with it, we have no reason to stop it."
Yume’s eyes went wide, but Sarah raised a finger.
"But."
Yume straightened up.
"Yes."
"I want both of you to be responsible."
"Yes."
"And for Noah to stop hiding things from us."
Yume looked at Noah, who sighed.
"Yes, that’s how it’ll be."
Emma smiled.
"Then, welcome officially."
Yume stayed still.
"Really?"
"Of course."
Yume started smiling more and more.
"Thank you, seriously, thank you so much."
Sarah pointed at Noah.
"And you will talk with us later."
Noah’s smile disappeared.
"About what?"
Sarah looked at him.
"About all the things you haven’t told us."
Noah swallowed while Emma nodded.
"Starting with whether there’s any other girlfriend we don’t know about either."
Noah went completely still while Yume looked away.
Ava watched Noah and Sarah narrowed her eyes along with Emma.
Noah felt the entire room waiting for his answer.

He thought about Luna, then about Iris and then about Ren.

Yume slowly raised a hand.
"Maybe that conversation should be another day."
Sarah looked at her.
"Why?"
Yume smiled nervously.
"There’s no reason."
Noah watched her, but Yume avoided his gaze and Emma sighed.
"We’ll definitely talk later."
Noah lowered his head.
"Yes."
Yume sat back down next to Emma, while Sarah returned to her seat and Ava remained standing for a few seconds until she finally sat far from Yume, very far.
Yume looked completely happy, since she had gotten exactly what she wanted.
Emma and Sarah already knew she was Noah’s girlfriend, but they hadn’t rejected her and had even officially accepted her.
Yume looked at Noah, who still seemed worried, and she smiled.
"It worked."
Noah looked at her.
"This is only the beginning."
Yume tilted her head.
"But it worked, right?"
Noah looked at his mothers, then at Ava and finally back at Yume and he couldn’t deny it.
"Yes."
Yume smiled with pride and the first introduction was completed.
Yume Hoshino was no longer simply a high school classmate in front of the Reed family, but was now officially recognized as Noah’s girlfriend.
But while Emma and Sarah talked with her naturally, Ava remained silent watching her from the other side of the room.
Yume smiled at her again, but Ava frowned even more, so Yume interpreted that reaction the same way again.
