Unholy Priest: Reborn with a Glitched Lust System

Chapter 61 Foundation of Magic [Part 1]

The books were loaded onto the carriage, and both Aiden and Olena exited the library; all the priestesses bowed their heads as he left.

Now back inside the carriage, the ride back to the Eastern Church began. Aiden looked through one of the books; on its cover were the words "Introduction to Holy Magic."

This was one of the books not allowed to normal civilians, and to Olena, Aiden was reading this book so he could teach the new priestesses or possibly priests since the awakening ceremony was in a few days.

But Aiden had no idea what he was looking at. When he reincarnated in this world, he didn’t gain the memories of the former owner of the body; instead he gained the system, along with the spells and knowledge required to use them, so he had no foundation in magic.

But with his knowledge of advanced spells, learning basic spells was going to be a drop in the bucket, or so Aiden thought.

Aiden’s eyes scanned through the book, and truly he was lacking in knowledge. His eyes moved from one line to another, but the more he read, the more confused he became.

The book began with its explanation that holy magic was not simply magic created from mana; it still used mana as a medium, but it was a form of magic that drew power from a person’s holy affinity.

The stronger the affinity, the easier it was for a person to sense and control holy mana. It was exclusively used by priests and priestesses who had received their blessings from the goddess of light; holy mana was used for healing, protection, purification, blessing, and other abilities connected to the goddess.

Aiden slowly turned the page. He wanted to look through it before talking to Olena or Zero, as he already had more than one question to ask.

The book explained that for someone to cast holy spells, they first needed to learn how to sense the difference between normal mana and holy mana. Normal mana existed naturally within the body, while holy mana was created when mana passes through a person’s holy affinity, as stated earlier.

This is important to understand because even though priests can’t use attack spells, they can still use support spells or utility spells, which are sometimes not holy spells. But once the mana has been transformed, it can be shaped into holy spells.

’Wait... Zero do you know this?’

[Yes, but not as in-depth as this. I’m familiar with the working oworkingsorld, and once I learned something, it’s stored in the system and can be retrieved, but I had no idea it was like this]

’So everyone has a mana core, and then the bright golden light I can see is the holy affinity, so to cast a normal spell you simply cast, but for a holy spell, you pass the mana through your holy affinity, which is the light, turning it into holy mana used to cast holy spells?’

[Wow, you got that on the first try; that is also what I deduced from reading the book]

’So how have I been doing that so far? I don’t feel any change or anything?’

[That is because of the system, because you already know how to perform the spell, it isn’t something you needed to learn, your body automatically turns mana into holy mana and cast the spell, but if you want to learn a new spell, you’ll have to do it yourself, and in time, it’ll be the same as casting a normal spell, you’ll be so familiar with it, you won’t notice it just like now]

’Right, well let’s continue. I’d like to see what more the books contain; contains is the biggest among them,’ Aiden mumbled as his eyes glanced back at the book. these

A smile formed on Olena’s face as she licked her lips. Even though Aiden had just fucked her senseless on the way over, her body was beginning to crave even more as she saw Aiden’s eyes focused on the book.

Olena liked reading more than anyone; even from a young age up to this time, she had many spells down, from basic to advanced, so seeing Aiden so interested and studious was making her brain melt, but she knew better than to disturb his peace.

Aiden continued reading and found another section explaining basic forms of holy magic; all the spells mentioned were the most basic form. Lesser healing was used to restore cuts, tiny wounds, and bruises. Cleanse was used to remove certain harmful effects.

There were barrier spells, but the simple barrier only protects against magic, and another form of the barrier only protects against physical strikes, but not both. The book also explains that these were the foundation, and without learning these, it was impossible to move to higher spells since sometimes the lower spells were combined to make higher-grade spells.

Aiden nodded as he slowly read through the book, it made more sense, the system had given him powerful spells; he didn’t need to learn lower-grade spells if he wanted, but still he had to. There was no way Aiden wasn’t going to learn about magic.

He turned another page and found a section about holy affinity. According to the book, most people who awakened a holy affinity and are blessed by the goddess can only produce a small amount of holy mana relative to their actual mana capacity.

The strength of the affinity ranged from D all the way to S rank, with a few selected even going above the S rank. The stronger the affinity, the greater the potential. From the awakening ceremony, each priest or priestess awakens their holy affinity, and even though it can be increased through practice, the base holy affinity usually decides who would be stronger in the future.

But having a powerful affinity doesn’t make one a great healer; practice, meditation, and praying are all important, and in doing so raising one’s affinity, production and control over holy mana.
