Chapter 204 - 202: A Grand Gift
Yue Junxiao looked at Sang Mo curiously. "Didn’t he say he gathered a bunch of your followers downstairs, ready to attack Hades whenever you gave the word? Are you just giving up on that?"
Sang Mo offered a rare explanation. "The Black Domain is a great place to live. It’s easy to defend and hard to attack, so it’s difficult for outsiders to get in. But that’s also a limitation. It’s harder for people here to achieve breakthroughs compared to other places. Those men Hades sent this morning are probably considered the top experts in the Black Domain."
Yue Junxiao’s eyes widened. "In that case, doesn’t that mean either you or Hu Yan could wipe out the entire Black Domain single-handedly?"
Then, as if remembering something, he turned to look at Bai Zhi. "If My Lady didn’t have a Purification Ability, I doubt any of us would be a match for her."
Yue Junxiao had a point. Among the six of them, only he and Yan Yichen had just reached SS-level. Lang Qiu was on the verge of breaking into SSS-level, and Hu Yan was on another level entirely.
Hu Yan’s power was due to the unique nature of the Nine-tailed Fox clan, and Bai Zhi was exceptionally unique herself, so it was normal for them to level up quickly. Only Sang Mo was an anomaly; for some reason, his training speed was simply faster than anyone else’s.
Hu Yan said thoughtfully, "Disregarding other factors, that is indeed feasible."
This was also why those who reached the SSS-level generally didn’t care much for socializing.
First, it was unnecessary. Second, they couldn’t be bothered.
Back in the Insect Clan’s caverns, if he and Sang Mo hadn’t been there to protect them, the Insect Mother’s self-destruction would have been enough to leave everyone maimed, if not dead. Combined with the effects of the black mist, they would have died shortly after anyway.
Yue Junxiao’s eyes lit up with understanding. "Oh, so you want to kill him yourself."
"But regardless, if you need help, we’ll all help, right?" Bai Zhi said, turning to look at the others.
Hu Yan gave a quiet, "Mm."
A strange light flashed in Sang Mo’s dark eyes. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he finally threw out, "This is pointless. I’m going to bed."
Then he turned and went back to his room.
Yue Junxiao was shocked by Sang Mo’s unusual reaction. "I’m not seeing things, am I? Was Sang Mo... shy? Sang Mo can actually get shy? No way. I have to go check if it’s raining red. What a rare spectacle!"
But Sang Mo, who had just gone inside, heard him. THUD! The sound of something hitting the door served as a clear warning to Yue Junxiao: Try running your mouth again!
Startled, Yue Junxiao leaped to the side, practically draping himself over Yan Yichen before making a face at Sang Mo’s door.
Then, his eyes shining brightly, he said to Bai Zhi, "My Lady, let’s go back to our room and rest, too!"
Bai Zhi nodded.
Meanwhile, Sang Mo, who had already returned to his room, pressed a hand to his brow, feeling unsettled.
’In the past, whenever Bai Zhi took him for treatment, he only assumed she was plotting something. Anyone who was nice to him always had an ulterior motive.’
’For Sang Mo, the only person he could ever rely on was himself.’
’Even now, he still wasn’t used to accepting help from others.’
’But just now, when Bai Zhi said they were a family and would help him, his first instinct hadn’t been to refuse. Instead, he had fled. This was clearly very abnormal for him.’
’It wasn’t that he needed the help—he didn’t—but he hadn’t refused it.’
Yue Junxiao couldn’t even wait until they were in the room. His tail popped out, wagging uncontrollably in the air, and his face was utterly radiant.
As Bai Zhi passed through the living room on her way to the bedroom, she felt something tickling her from behind, swaying back and forth. She reached back instinctively to scratch the itch, but instead of her own back, her fingers brushed against a fluffy tail.
The touch instantly sent a shiver through Yue Junxiao, making the base of his tail go weak. "Ngh~"
Bai Zhi realized what she had touched. Hearing the muffled groan beside her, she quickly pulled her hand back and turned to look at Yue Junxiao. She saw he wasn’t in pain; on the contrary, he looked bashful.
The next second, she felt a fluffy tail being pressed into her hand. Yue Junxiao looked at her with wide, expectant eyes. "I like it when you touch my tail, My Lady," he said. "It feels really good."
He was both shy and direct.
It gave Bai Zhi the distinct impression of looking at a sweet, innocent college boy.
Bai Zhi didn’t refuse. She simply pulled him into the room and shut the door with a BAM.
She couldn’t resist giving it a couple of firm strokes. His fur was so sleek and glossy to the touch—it was obvious he was well-cared for now, completely different from when she had first arrived.
Yue Junxiao watched Bai Zhi’s hand stroking his tail. The tips of his ears turned red, and his eyes grew moist, his face filled with pure delight.
He didn’t look like he was being taken advantage of at all; rather, he looked like he was the one who had gotten the better end of the deal.
Without further ado, he swept Bai Zhi up into his arms.
Bai Zhi quickly patted him. "We haven’t showered yet."
So, Yue Junxiao changed direction from the bed and headed into the bathroom instead.
The bathroom in the deluxe suite was enormous, with a bathtub easily big enough for two.
Yue Junxiao turned on the shower, pinning Bai Zhi against the wall with a kiss as the water quickly soaked them both.
As their clothes became soaked, they grew sheer and revealing. Overwhelmed by the sensations, Bai Zhi wrapped her arms around his neck.
Since she had already been thoroughly worn out that morning, Yue Junxiao was only unrestrained at the beginning before becoming much gentler. They went a few rounds before finally finishing.
Last night, Hades had received reports that a large group had gathered below Sang Mo’s residence. Coupled with the fact that Brutus had been killed at night, he assumed Sang Mo was gathering forces to come for him. Hades was certain Sang Mo would make his move last night, but there was no activity. The assembled crowd even dispersed halfway through.
Hades had waited all night, so worried that he couldn’t sleep. ’And for what? Nothing?’
As long as Sang Mo remained inactive, Hades felt like a sword was hanging over his head, never knowing when it might fall.
That morning, Tina was startled to see Hades’s heavy dark circles, bloodshot eyes, and the haggard stubble covering his face. "You... what happened to you?"
Hades, who hadn’t slept a wink, was in no mood to elaborate. He just gave a dismissive, "Didn’t sleep well."
Tina finally understood just how terrified Hades was of Sang Mo. Before this, Hades could sleep through anything—even the sky falling. He always slept more soundly than a pig-beast.
She never thought she’d hear the three words "didn’t sleep well" come out of Hades’s mouth.
Afterward, Hades directly contacted the Beastman who was tailing Sang Mo to ask about the group’s whereabouts.
The Beastman tailing Sang Mo had his subordinates keep watch while he moved to a more distant spot to reply. "They set out first thing this morning and came to the cherry blossom tree."
Hearing this, Hades was left speechless.
He really couldn’t understand Sang Mo’s actions.
Sang Mo had killed Brutus on his first night back in the Black Domain. Yesterday, Hades had arranged an assassination attempt. He thought that once Sang Mo found out, his vengeful nature would compel him to come for revenge immediately.
But instead, Sang Mo had gone shopping with the female.
Then he guessed Sang Mo would probably come at night—after all, that’s when Brutus was killed. But after waiting all night, Sang Mo never showed. Instead, he got news that Sang Mo went to see a cherry blossom tree with the female!!
Twice in a row. Hades truly couldn’t figure Sang Mo out.
His actions yesterday had been so provocative. The Sang Mo of old would have charged in and slaughtered him the moment the assassins were dispatched.
But you couldn’t say Sang Mo had grown soft; the way he’d killed Brutus was anything but gentle.
Hades was so busy trying to figure out Sang Mo’s intentions that he didn’t even notice Tina approaching.
In the days that followed, Hades’s condition worsened with each morning. Every time he checked with his trackers, he learned that Sang Mo’s group had visited a different place—always a well-known spot in the Black Domain. The one thing they never did was come looking for him.
Just as Hades was beginning to let his guard down, thinking Sang Mo probably wouldn’t make a move against him after all, Sang Mo sent him a "present."
