Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 193. Setting the pieces in place.

Madcity.

Eastern District.

The lights of the club dazzled everywhere.

People were jumping around to some upbeat electronic music playing.

Some people were downing shots of ordered drinks.

At the moment, a seventeen-year-old girl was seated in the VIP section of the club with a few friends.

Standing near her was a tall man with a skinny build, radiating an air of quiet authority.

Several gentlemen shot occasional glances at the good-looking young lady and her friends.

But when they saw the man standing close to her, they all looked away.

Someone flanked by an expert rank 2 warrior was not normal.

Whoever she was, she was bad news.

They didn’t want to hit on the wrong girl and get themselves killed.

The lady snorted.

"Steve, you shouldn’t have followed me here. Because of you, no man is willing to show me a good time. Even though I’ve barely been out of home, and no one knows I’m the daughter of the city lord, your presence is driving everyone away."

Steve sighed. "Young miss, it’s my duty to protect you. If something happens to you, the lord will have my head and that of everyone in the manor. Please, I’m only here because I don’t want to die."

The young lady sighed again and downed a shot of alcohol.

She looked at her friends, a group of teenage girls and boys like her, and sighed. "I guess we won’t have a good time tonight. It’s about time we leave."

"Yeah."

"I suppose so."

"Let’s just get out of here."

The group of friends nodded and stood up.

They were all cursing Butler Steve in their heads.

Had it not been for him, they would be having fun right now.

But none of them dared to say anything.

Who would want to anger an expert rank 2 warrior?

Steve followed them as they left the club.

Just when they were about to enter a vehicle, a tiny dot appeared on Steve’s forehead.

He halted. He couldn’t move.

The young lady and her friends were waiting for him to take the driver’s seat and drive them home.

But... contrary to what they expected, the man’s eyes turned lifeless. He fell on the ground.

The young lady got out of the car and rushed to the man’s dead body. She checked his pulse. He was dead.

But she didn’t see any wounds on his body.

The only thing she saw was blood trickling out of a very tiny dot on his forehead.

"Who would be audacious enough to kill Butler Steve, especially in such an open place? Are they not scared of the repercussions of their actions?" She spoke in fear.

This was when it occurred to her.

"Someone wants to kidnap me. Perhaps my father has made a lot of enemies and they want to use me to get to him? I need to return home as soon as possible and inform Dad about it," she muttered and turned around, about to enter the vehicle and drive home with her terrified friends.

But her friends were not moving.

They were seated in the car like robots.

Their eyes were open but full of fear.

Also, why were their eyes lifeless?

Wait... the tiny dots on their foreheads, and blood leaking from it...

It was the same dot on the forehead of Butler Steve.

They were dead.

What sort of terrifying assassin could pull off something like this?

She didn’t see anyone launch an attack. Neither did she sense anyone’s presence.

Whoever was behind this was a terrifying person.

Who had her father offended?

Wait... did this mean she was next?

Puchi...

A sharp pain spread through her head, her skull, and her brain.

She felt something pierce through her skull and shatter it, and her brain too.

A tiny dot appeared on her forehead as she fell on the ground.

"I should have just stayed home. Father had a reason for telling me not to go outside. The world is dangerous. Now that I’m dying... how will he manage without me..."

These were her last words before her vision faded and she died.

Several microscopic crimson threads wrapped themselves around her body and the other dead bodies.

The dead bodies floated into the skies where no one would manage to see them, then towards the outskirts of the city, to the desert.

No one in the club or in the vicinity saw anything.

The corpse of the city lord’s daughter floated in the skies.

As for the corpses of the others, they fell from the skies and landed on the desert.

The intermediate rank 3 sandworms Aiden had located earlier shot out of the ground at the scent of human meat and gobbled them up. After that, they spat the bones on the floor and retreated into the sand.

"They’ve been baited. They will be more voracious than before, now that they have tasted human meat. When the city lord and his entourage arrive, they will be killed before they even know what hit them," Aiden thought.

He tapped the handle of the sofa.

"As for his daughter’s corpse, I will use it to bait them here. Let’s let it remain in the sky for now," Aiden thought.

"Time to send him the message," Aiden thought.

Several microscopic crimson threads moved at a rapid pace towards the city lord’s residence.

Madmax lay beneath the bedsheets, snoring away. A beauty lay beneath the sheets next to him.

Aiden’s microscopic crimson threads appeared in the room and transformed into a microscopic crimson blade.

The microscopic crimson blade wrote something on the wall.

If you want to see your daughter again, come to the middle of the desert facing the Eastern district.

After that, the microscopic crimson blade returned to Aiden, turned into a blob of blood, and disappeared into him.

Madmax, flanked by his concubine, lay beneath the bedsheets, snoring away, oblivious to the fact that the next morning, he would wake up to his worst nightmare.
