Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 192. Finding the weakness

Aiden was currently seated on a couch in his bedroom.

He was clad in shorts and a t-shirt.

He was barefooted.

"I have two months in this city before the transportation to the western seaport arrives.

If I don’t fulfill my end of the deal with Dickinson before the two-month period is up, I won’t be able to bust his parents out of prison and have his father forge a fake identity for me so that I can safely pass through the Southern seaport and board a ship to the western continent.

The only way to get his father out of prison and forge an identity for me is if Madmax is dead. How do I get rid of Madmax?

I can’t use poisons. They are not sold in the city. I can’t also use my power to assassinate him. He’s a beginner rank 3 warrior. What if I engineer a situation that causes him to walk to his grave of his own accord? As for the district lords, I can deal with them on my own after getting rid of Madmax. They are only expert rank 2 warriors.

The problem now is Madmax. Since he is a beginner rank 3 warrior, it looks like across the other cities, he’s most likely more powerful than any other city lord at the moment. So, I can’t orchestrate a situation to pit him against a city lord of a nearby city. Even if that happens, he will kill that city lord instead of getting himself killed by that city lord since he will be stronger than them. So that won’t work.

The best way to deal with him is to use the desert environment. Maybe lure him into a place full of rank 3 chaotic beasts...

Yes... that will do... but how do I do that?"

Aiden was tapping the handle of the sofa quietly, his mind turning.

"A man who has ruled a lawless city for decades is not stupid. It takes more than strength to run a city of shady, sly, and scheming people. He is careful. I need to find a weakness he has and use it to lure him to the desert so that he dies there.

To accomplish that, I need to study him for a long time. His habits, the people he’s close to, and anything precious to him. One can learn more about a person by studying them than by listening to rumors.

But before that, I need to study the terrain of the desert first and find a location I can lure him to."

Aiden’s eyes turned crimson.

His enhanced vision, hearing, and smell spread outwards, towards the entrance into the city, past the queue gathered at the entrance, and across the desert.

He noticed several dangerous serpents and sandworms in the desert. They were beginner rank 3 sandworms.

"I need to find intermediate rank 3 sandworms. It doesn’t hurt to be careful. If he’s powerful enough to handle the beginner rank 3 sandworms, the plan won’t work."

From his bedroom, Aiden searched the desert.

Eventually, he heard the sounds of several intermediate rank 3 sandworms lurking beneath the sand beneath the desert.

"This will do. Not only are they hiding beneath the sand, they are intermediate rank 3 sandworms. If he’s lured here, he will abandon all caution. But this will only work if I identify a weakness he has and use it against him."

Aiden’s enhanced vision, smell, and hearing returned to the city. Then, it spread across the city.

"He lives in the western district," Aiden thought.

He deactivated his sense of smell and narrowed down his vision to the western district.

Eventually, a manor came into view.

It stood out from all the buildings in the city.

Aiden’s gaze peered through the manor and followed a maid who was entering a room.

The door opened, and the maid entered the room.

In the room, a tall man was seated on a couch watching some television.

He looked extremely laid back. But there was an expression of hardened caution in his eyes.

The woman carried a tray of food and put it on a table before him.

"Sir, the meal is ready," the maid said politely.

"Thank you, Leticia," the man nodded.

"Pleasure, sir."

"You may leave."

The maid nodded and was about to leave.

"Wait... where is my daughter?" Madmax asked the woman.

"She went out with a few friends, sir. She’s currently in a club in the district," Leticia replied nervously. She knew how ruthless this man could be when it came to his daughter.

She had already tried to stop the young miss from going out. But she was only a maid. The young miss threatened her that if she obstructed her, she would tell her father that she was abusing her.

Knowing Madmax, even if her daughter said someone pinched her on the nose, he’d kill that person.

Ever since the Dickinsons killed his wife, he had become overly protective of his daughter.

Leticia didn’t dare to obstruct the young miss from stepping out.

Madmax sighed as he stared at Leticia.

"Did she threaten you as usual?"

"Yes, sir..." Leticia replied as she sighed in relief. Fortunately, he was not angry.

"Smart girl. Just seventeen years old and she can scheme this much. It seems letting you try to prevent her from stepping out is not effective. I need to let some enforcers follow her from now on so that, at least, even if she steps out, she won’t get into trouble," Madmax said, scratching his chin.

"Actually, sir, the butler followed her," Leticia replied.

"Oh... then there’s nothing to worry about. Butler Steve is my second in command. No one will dare to cause trouble for her when they see him. He’s also the strongest expert rank 2 warrior in the city. Not even the district lords will be a match for him. You may leave," Madmax said.

Leticia nodded and walked towards the door as she sighed in relief. Had the man gotten angry, he would have probably killed her and replaced her with someone else there and then. After all, four years ago, he killed his personal maid for letting his daughter out of the manor, only for her to get into a fight with someone.

Aiden, observing everything from his room in the eastern district, nodded.

He had found his target. Madmax’s weakness was his daughter.
