Chapter 17 Cinema Kisses and the Chaperone Crisis
Chapter 17 Cinema Kisses and the Chaperone Crisis
Chu chu
Sounds of kisses filled the background—barely audible over the constant crunch of popcorn being devoured all around the theater. Then a sudden scream rang out from the screen:
“Harry Painter! Did ya put your name in the Glass of Fire, you fool?!”
We were at the cinema, but even I could tell Alice wasn’t really comfortable. Not with a certain someone sitting right behind us.
“Haha! Kick his ass, Dumbadoor!” Yui exclaimed loudly. She was still in her work uniform, which meant she was technically on the job. She wasn’t sitting beside us—she had given us some privacy by sitting directly behind. But we could hear every single one of her comments and reactions while she kept shoving popcorn into her mouth and slurping her drink.
Meanwhile, Alice and I were holding hands. But every time we leaned in a little too close, I felt a sharp kick against the back of my seat, jolting me upright.
Let’s just focus on the movie, I thought with a sigh.
It didn’t help that, a few rows ahead to my right, another couple was clearly making out from time to time.
Damn it… I have this beauty right beside me, practically waiting to be devoured, and I can’t do anything.
I finally gave up. I needed to abide by the promise. I turned slightly toward the back, eyeing Yui. Her eyes glared at me, then flicked back to the movie.
I knew what I had promised. What we had talked about. But it was really too hard… and I was too, of course.
I gave myself a small slap on the face.
What the hell are you thinking? I scolded myself. You accepted all of this from the very beginning. I even swore in front of her family and my parents.
I guess I really will have to wait until we both turn eighteen. But that’s it. Until then… I’ll behave.
I glanced at Alice. She seemed more into the movie now. Once we turn 18, you are mine. And I won’t care anymore about what your family says, I thought.
Suddenly a voice came from behind, right in my ear. “I’ll step out for a little bit. Behave, Iryoku-boy.”
I turned and saw Yui’s thin silhouette disappear into the darkness of the theater.
When I looked back at the screen, my heart was racing. That’s when Alice pressed closer. Her small, cute face was suddenly right next to mine. So close I could feel her warm breath.
I froze. Should we…? My eyes dropped to her soft pink lips. A desperate itch to kiss her flooded through me, but I hesitated.
She didn’t.
Her lips brushed against mine.
My first kiss.
For a second my mind went completely blank. When she pulled back, her cheeks were flushed bright pink. I leaned in again and gave her a gentle, shy peck. This is heaven.
We kissed again… and again. Soon my arms were wrapped around her, our mouths moving together, soft and warm. The movie faded away. There was only her.
My hand hovered dangerously close to her thigh, fingers itching to slide higher and grope something soft and warm. The urge hit me like a wave—I could already imagine how smooth her skin would feel under my palm…
But then I forced myself to stop and pulled away, breathing hard.
“Iryoku…” Alice’s voice was shy, sweet, and a little eager. “She hasn’t come back yet… L-let’s keep—”
I shook my head, heart pounding for a completely different reason now.
“She’ll be back any second,” I whispered. “I… I need to use the restroom.”
I slipped out of the seat and escaped down the dark aisle, lips still tingling.
A raging hard-on strained against my pants. This is fucking martyrdom, I thought, trying to calm myself as I hurried down the hallway toward the restroom.
But a sharp voice cut through the quiet.
“Stop bothering me already!”
I turned the corner and froze.
There was Yui Onee-san, arms crossed tightly over her chest. Standing in front of her was a man in a crisp suit, also with his arms crossed, looking down at her.
“I asked you where the hell you’ve been,” he snapped. “Why haven’t you finished what I told you to do?”
Yui’s voice was flat. “I went to the restroom. I’ll finish the job when I can.”
Her boss, probably, I thought. This girl really is trouble… but that’s her business.
I turned to leave—until I heard her gasp.
“Hey—let me go!”
The man had grabbed her wrist. “You know all of this could get swept under the rug if you just accept my proposal. Come on.”
I moved without thinking, quickly closing the distance.
My hand shot out and clamped around his arm like a vice. I squeezed hard.
“Ahh!” the guy grunted. “What the hell?! Who the hell are you?!”
He immediately released Yui’s wrist.
I let go of his arm but didn’t step back. I clenched my fist and glared him down.
He flinched. “I’m the owner of this place! I’ll call the police, you criminal!”
“Go ahead,” I said coolly. “Call them. We’ll tell them exactly how this man was sexually harassing one of his employees.”
The guy’s face twisted with rage. He glared at me, then at Yui.
“You…” he spat. Finally he turned on his heel and stormed off. “I don’t want to see either of you here again. Get out!”
I let out a long breath and turned to Yui.
“Are you okay?”
She immediately got right in my face, her expression dead serious.
“You damn delinquent boy!” she hissed. “Don’t meddle in adult business! I can defend myself from assholes like him!”
I blinked, then gave a nervous little bow. “Sorry, sorry…”
Well, it looks like she just lost her job because of me… I sighed. “I’m really sorry…”
Yui took a deep breath, and simply walked out without another word.
As I was about to follow her, a tall, insanely sexy woman strutted past in sky-high heels, her hips swaying like she owned the entire hallway. My eyes dropped instantly. Her massive breasts bounced heavily with every step, straining against a tight low-cut top that left almost nothing to the imagination. Her ass was ridiculous—round, plump, and perfectly hugged by a short skirt that rode up just enough to show the smooth skin of her thighs.
Holy shit… My mouth went dry. Those tits… that ass… I’d give anything to just grab—
I was already walking in her direction before I even realized it.
I shook my head violently. What the hell is wrong with me?! My cheeks burned as I forced myself to stop. Heart pounding, I practically sprinted after Yui Onee-san before my body could betray me any worse.
Once I stepped outside, I scanned the street left and right.
“Where are you…?”
I rounded the corner and there she was—sitting alone on a bench, head bowed, her cap pulled low over her face.
I walked up beside her and lifted my hand, trying to say something… but nothing came out. Instead, I dropped down next to her, leaned back against the bench, and stretched my arms behind my neck. Yui didn’t move at all.
I stole a quick glance at her, but looked away just as fast, feeling my hormones starting to stir again.
After a couple of silent minutes, she suddenly muttered, “Why… why am I always like this?”
She ripped off her cap and hurled it far into the street. A passing car ran straight over it.
I glanced back at her. She was resting her chin on her hand, staring blankly ahead.
“Mm… Yui Onee-san, I’m sorry again,” I began. “But I had to do something about it. That bastard…”
Yui finally turned and looked at me, her expression softening just a little.
“Just leave it at that. It’s not your fault.” She let out a small sigh. “I didn’t like that job anyway.”
She stood up, walked over to where her cap had landed, picked it up, and came back, tossing it onto the bench.
At least she doesn’t leave trash on the street… Still, this whole mess was kind of my fault.
“Don’t sweat it anymore, Iryoku,” she said. “To tell you the truth, my jobs never last long. I’m not really cut out to behave properly, and of course there’s always assholes like him trying to hit on me, but…”
She trailed off for a second, then continued more quietly, “Well, I’ll just look for another one. Simple as that.”
I looked up at the sky. “Maybe a rest would help you, don’t you think? Just take it easy for a while. I’m sure you’ll find something better.”
“Boy, you think you sound so knowledgeable,” she scoffed, a faint smirk tugging at her lips. “You’re talking to an adult. I can overcome shit like this easily… Plus, I can’t just stop working. I need to keep helping Mom with the household expenses, and I’m saving money for when Alice goes to college. I want her to go to a private college and not have to worry about anything else…”
Wow… I didn’t know she thought like that. She’s really a good sister and daughter.
I stood up quickly. “Wait a minute—Alice is still in the cinema!”
I spun around and rushed back into the building.
But the second I stepped inside, one of the workers blocked my path. “Hey, where do you think you’re going?”
“Look, buddy, I already paid for my ticket. I just stepped out for a second.” I pulled out my stub and waved it at him.
Just then the boss—the same sleazy guy from earlier—stormed over. “I told you to get out. You’re banned from this establishment.”
The worker glanced at his boss, then back at me.
I wanted to kick the guy’s ass so bad, but I restrained myself, turned around, and walked out. I pulled out my phone and fired off a quick text to Alice… but nothing. Damn it, she probably has it on silent.
I walked back to Yui and explained the situation. She immediately wanted to storm back in anyway, but I stopped her. I didn’t want her getting into even more trouble.
So the two of us waited outside, leaning against the building.
A few minutes later the theater doors burst open and a flood of people started pouring out. I scanned the crowd for Alice’s small figure… but my eyes landed on the insanely sexy woman from earlier instead. A tall guy had his arm wrapped tightly around her waist, their bodies glued together as they walked. His hand was openly groping her plump ass, squeezing it like he owned it. She just giggled and pressed even closer to him.
What a lucky bastard… I thought. I want to be just like that with Alice… Soon. Really soon.
Then my eyes moved up to the guy’s face.
Wait… where have I seen him before?
Before I could think any more, a small presence stopped right in front of me. Thin hands planted firmly on her hips, Alice glared up at me with a clearly grumpy face.
“Where were you?” she demanded.
I opened my mouth to answer—
But Yui cut in first. “We got banned from the cinema. Simple as that. Sorry for ruining your date.”
Alice blinked. “But how?” She turned to me, eyes narrowing. “What did you do?”
Yui interjected again, stepping between us. “It’s my fault. I made my boss angry and your boyfriend-kun got mixed up in it. Come on, let’s go. I’ll treat you guys to a meal.”
I didn’t say anything. I just fell into step beside Alice, the two of us following Yui Onee-san down the street.
