Recipe For a Ruthless Delinquent

Chapter 16 PG-13 Dating

Chapter 16 PG-13 Dating

“Like this. You add this part, then move the x, then cancel this, then at the end you check the answer using the values you get on the result. See? It’s very easy once you get the hang of it.”

Alice’s sweet voice went in one ear and straight out the other. We were in my room, “studying”—well, more like she was teaching me while I got lost in her eyes.

I bet you’re wondering how she was even here. Of course, her mom was against it, but Alice had a talent for convincing her. Plus, my mom had vouched for us. “Don’t worry, Haruka-san,” she’d told Alice’s mom. “I’ll watch the kids. Be at ease.”

When the math wasn’t going anywhere, Alice stood up and started wandering around my room. She stopped at my TV and the console.

“It really surprises me that your room is so clean and organized,” she said.

I smiled. “I like keeping it tidy.” Total lie. Yesterday I’d done an emergency cleanup—stashing away anything embarrassing, like my porn mags and hentai, and even bought an air freshener.

She wandered farther and spotted my dumbbells by the bed. She crouched and tried to lift one. “Uhh… it’s too heavy… do you really lift these?”

I stepped in quickly. “Hey—careful! You could hurt yourself.”

“Ah!” Her hands slipped. She fell backward onto my bed.

I tried to catch her but only succeeded in crashing down right on top of her.

What’s this… is this the lucky pervert scene? I thought as my eyes roamed over her. Our faces were inches apart. My heart was hammering so loud I could hear it.

I lowered my face toward hers. I wanted it so badly. My hand hovered just above her chest.

She closed her eyes.

I was already rock-hard… but I stopped, remembering her mom’s words: “Iryoku… that’s exactly why I’m asking you to take good care of my little girl. I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. I want her to grow up and live a happy life.”

I pulled back and sat on the edge of the bed, facing away, trying to calm down. “Are you okay? You didn’t hurt yourself, right?”

I took a deep breath, stood up, walked over, and turned on the console. “Maybe we should take a little break. Come play with me.”

She looked at me, then walked over and sat on the floor mat beside me. “Really? You’re doing everything except studying.”

“Sorry… I’ll try harder. You deserve to have fun too.”

She sighed. “But I don’t know how to play.”

“Well then, let me teach you. I’m the best. When my brother and I used to—” I suddenly stopped, my eyes drifting up to the top bunk. Kota’s bed.

Alice noticed. Her voice turned gentle. “Do you want to talk about it?”

I’d already told her Kota had disappeared—nothing detailed, just that he was missing. Her genuine concern made me love her even more.

She scooted closer and hugged my arm. Shit… this is really hard. My body reacted instantly.

Right on cue.

knock knock

We scramble apart like cartoon characters.

My mom opened the door. “Iryoku, Alice, I brought you some drinks.” She smiled when she saw the controllers. “I thought you two were studying.”

I grinned. “Just a short break.”

As I walked her back home, hand in hand, I was thinking deeply about what lay ahead. My studies were already improving, thanks to her, of course. But the direction of my life wasn’t really set yet—at least not on the job side. I turned to look at her. She looked thoughtful too.

I could easily imagine her in a position of power, managing people. Maybe president of some big company, or even Prime Minister of Japan.

And where would that leave me? Shit… I need to step up my game.

After we left the station, we continued walking. There was no way I was letting her return alone. As we passed a convenience store, I saw a couple of guys walking out. Just in time, I switched her to my other side, my free hand already slipping into my bag. We passed by without problem.

Ever since the small incidents with that third-year, I had done my homework—checked his movements, wondered if he would try something. Thankfully he hadn’t. Of course, I still took extra precautions. I had gone to the hardware store and bought a knife—nothing fancy, just a construction blade, but it would work to deter any motherfucker who wanted to mess with us.

The little girl continued walking in her own world.

“Hey, Alice, how’s it going with the student council?” I asked.

She looked at me seriously. “Actually… I’m not content. They’re barely giving me any real work, only menial tasks. Like I don’t matter,” she said with a sigh.

I frowned. “Then I’ll need to give those people a visit.” I cracked my knuckles, already thinking about threatening someone.

“Please no,” she pinched my arm. “Not everything should be resolved like that—especially with people who aren’t bad.”

“My bad,” I lifted my hands, chuckling. Of course I wouldn’t actually do something like that—that could hurt her. I even tried to behave better when people were watching me around her at school. I wondered if people would think badly of her for being with me.

We arrived at her door. She looked up at me, her face slightly flushed, but—

Damn it, I want her… Maybe just a smooch on the cheek is okay, right?

Just in time.

“Hey there, stupid couple,” Yui Onee-san called out as she arrived, holding a bag full of groceries. She was dressed in a weird uniform with a cap on her head.

Alice immediately stepped away from me and started berating her sister. “Don’t call us stupid, Onee-san!”

“Eh? Don’t get shy. What, did I interrupt a kiss or something?” she teased.

Alice pouted, her cheeks puffing up. Actually, I liked it a lot when she acted like that.

“Hello, Yui Onee-san. I delivered her home safe and sound,” I said.

“Okay, boyfriend-kun,” she replied, then turned to Alice. “Go on inside, Alice. I need to speak with him.” She handed her the bag of groceries.

Alice reluctantly said her goodbyes to me and went inside. “Don’t bother him,” she warned Yui.

Once the door closed, Yui’s face suddenly got close to mine. I couldn’t stop admiring her beauty. Seriously, why wasn’t someone as pretty as her working as an idol or something?

“Iryoku-boy,” she sniffed at me. “I hope you didn’t do anything inappropriate to Alice?” Her eyes turned cold and deep.

I shook my head from side to side.

“Okay, I’ll believe you. It doesn’t seem like there are any weird smells.”

Shit, is that all it takes? Thank god I have my bag in front of me, covering my involuntary reaction. Seriously, was there something wrong with me?

But Yui’s eyes remained cold. “Let me say this again. If there’s even the slightest chance you do something hurtful to her—if you so much as try to take my Alice’s purity—I’ll cut your dick off myself.”

I shook my head even faster. Fuck, my friend quickly hid itself.

Then, just as quickly, she nodded and smiled. “Okay, glad you understand.” She handed me two tickets. “Now take these, delinquent boy.”

“Harry Painter and the Glass of Fire,” I read out loud.

“Huhu” she made a playful sound. “Your Onee-san is giving you, stupid couple, a gift—thanks to my connections.” She meant her part-time job at the cinema. “I got hold of these tickets so you can have a perfectly normal PG-13 date. No—let’s leave it at PG.”

“Thanks.” I said.

But she continued, “Of course, I will be there with you.”

I couldn’t hide a small flash of dissatisfaction for a second, but I quickly masked it. “Of course, Yui Onee-san,” I could only agree.

Yui’s POV

Yui walked inside, dropped her cap onto the counter, and let out a tired sigh. “Ah…”

Inside, she saw her mother, Haruka—the family matriarch—busy working in the kitchen.

“I’m home, Mom,” Yui said.

“How was the job?” Haruka asked.

“Fine. Normal.”

Yui walked into Alice’s room. There, she found Alice sitting at her desk, completely absorbed in typing on her phone. The younger girl wore a funny expression, her cheeks flushed a bright red. She didn’t even notice Yui enter the room.

Yui flopped down onto the bed.

Alice finally noticed her and quickly stood up, walking straight to the bathroom.

“I’m not going to peep at your phone,” Yui said.

But Alice continued walking. “I need to use the bathroom.”

Seeing her little sister, who already carried a more mature aura these days, Yui couldn’t help but feel a pang of fear and concern for her future.

Please don’t commit the same mistakes I did… she thought with a quiet sigh.
