Three Divine Wishes: Yes, I'm OP!

Chapter 268: Before The Flood Of Night (6)

When Milan reappeared, she found herself directly within Dream Land, standing at the base of Akasha’s Mountain in an open field of endless green.

Waterfalls streamed down the far-off cliffs, weaving clear streams across the stone.

Pools shimmered in the gentle light that filled the Domain.

Overhead, a dense canopy and gardens of flowers kept the air cool and fresh, carrying the mingled scents of leaves, running water, and the sweet white fruit growing higher on the slopes.

The oasis could easily have taken anyone by surprise if it were their first time seeing it.

Yet, at that moment, Milan’s face gave nothing away—no hint that the figure standing in the middle of the vast field was Milan and not Amber.

What settled over her instead was a deep sense of familiarity after so long away, the quiet comfort of someone returning to a place they’d begin to call home.

She inhaled deeply and released the breath with measured ease.

"Well, it looks like the pretty boy really pulled out all the stops for this one," she murmured, noting how the last time she’d stood in Dream Land, the Mountain had never floated in the void like this.

The transformation was strange, even absurd, yet somehow, despite herself, she found it refreshing.

The sense of familiarity wasn’t without reason... as if it wasn’t obvious by now, the construct Milan had created just moments before arriving had done more than hide her existence from prying eyes.

In that instant, and for the next five months, it sealed away even her own awareness of who she truly was.

So, for now, shewasn’tt Milan at all—she was only Amber.

Before long, the quiet, intimate moment broke with the sound of a familiar voice calling out across the field.

"Amber?"

As she turned, Harlan and the two Ancestors were gliding down from the air, their robes and hair stirring gently in the Domain’s soft breeze as they touched down on the grass.

"Headmaster?" Amber asked, a smile forming effortlessly on her lips. "Shouldn’t you be back at the Academy?"

The last time she’d been anywhere near the Academy’s previous conquest, they hadn’t even fully taken the Northern Continent.

By then, she had already shifted her focus toward breaking the ice between herself and Akasha.

"Maybe I should be," Harlan replied with a laugh as his feet touched the ground. "But... things are at a bit of an impasse until Lord Dream wakes up."

"Wakes up?" Amber murmured almost to herself, tilting her head.

"Right... He must be evolving again."

"Well, I’m not entirely sure," Harlan admitted, "but I’d presume so."

She nodded and let her gaze move briefly over the Ancestors.

’Hmm, how are there still any Loria alive on Kalpa?’ she wondered to herself, noting how their features matched the familiar brown hair and brown eyes that all Loria shared.

Yet, with everything she had recently learned from her own experiences, she wasn’t quite ready to dig too deeply into anything involving the Loria again.

With that thought lingering in the back of her mind, she rose into the air and cast a glance back at the three of them.

"Come along. I’m going to see who else is here."

After Milan spoke, they trailed behind her up the mountain path. When they reached the peak, the plateau stretched out in every direction, unnaturally vast—so immense that you could have placed more than one continent upon it without even brushing the edges.

"I never imagined the peak of this mountain would be so... vast," Harlan muttered, releasing a slow, steady breath as he tried to grasp the sheer magnitude before him.

Though it wasn’t his first time in Akasha’s Domain, it was the first time he had truly climbed the Mountain, and the change in atmosphere—the size, the scope, everything—left him quietly awestruck.

"How can this even be considered a mountain?" the female Ancestor asked with a shake of her head.

"Well, this is only a fraction of it," Amber replied with a light laugh, gesturing to the right, where the canopy of the Golden Apple Tree stretched high, and the treehouse was beautifully woven into the upper forest.

"And... if anyone’s here, they’re most likely there."

They made their way across the peak and to the base of the Golden Apple Tree.

Outside the treehouse door, a lively atmosphere leaked through—voices, the low ease of people who had been waiting long enough to grow comfortable.

When the group walked in, they saw Jovian sitting with Selia, their closeness speaking for itself without a word. Jack, Melissa, and the rest of the companions were scattered around the room, while Luna sat cross-legged on Akasha’s zafu in the center.

Above her, hidden from normal view, hung the cocoons of Akasha and Yume, though the room gave no hint of their presence.

"I’m only saying," Jovian said as he was in the middle of a complaint when they entered.

"If he’s going to invite us... couldn’t he at least be here?"

At his remark, Luna merely let out a soft chuckle, choosing to ignore him entirely. Almost at once, her gaze drifted toward the doorway.

One eyebrow lifted in mild curiosity, a faint smile curling her lips before fading away.

"Oh?" she said, her expression smoothing. "Amber... you’ve already finished with the world of Loreua so soon?"

Amber came further into the room, found an open couch, and sat with a small sigh.

As she settled into her seat, she gave Luna a small shrug.

"Well... I didn’t go through with it. My background turned out to be more complicated than I expected."

In that moment, Amber’s thoughts drifted back to her time in the world of Loreua.

The only things she could clearly recall were discovering she was some specimen and having an intense battle with Milan, right before the princess seized her chance to escape.

A faint smile returned to her face as she glanced at Luna.

"But I’ve got five years, right? I’ll have it done by then," she said, then added, "On the bright side, the Crown Prince is already out of the picture. That leaves the Emperor and the Princess."

"Interesting..." Luna muttered as the words from Amber... didn’t sound quite right. However, instead of pressing further, she let the thought pass.

"So, have you already decided to destroy the Empire truly?"

When Luna posed her question to Amber, the room went still, the air thick with unspoken thoughts.

Jovian, Harlan, and the rest traded glances laced with an edge you could almost feel on your tongue, each of them shouldering the weight of her words in their own way.

"I see... it all makes sense now," Jovian said, unable to shake the thought that Akasha might truly be the main protagonist.

He glanced at Luna, giving a slight shake of his head.

"So, is this what you do? Just wander around, taking down the biggest and toughest opponents you can find?"

In that moment, Luna simply laughed and waved him off before turning her attention back to Milan, one brow arched in curiosity.

Catching her expression, Milan let out a short sigh, her features hardening ever so slightly.

"Right... I’ve made up my mind," she declared. "The Loria needs to be destroyed."

Luna nodded, her words carrying a teasing warmth.

"Fufufu~ Well, if that’s the case, you’ll probably miss it. Little Melvin and your mother, Liliana, are already on their way to the world of Loreua."

"What?" Amber’s eyes widened as she sat upright.

"Are you serious? Did I make this whole trip back for nothing?"

The frustration lingered only briefly before she released another sigh and sank deeper into the couch.

"Forget it. Let those two handle it."

Her gaze drifted to the center of the room—toward Luna on the zafu, and then to the space above her where nothing visible hung.

"So... where’s the pretty boy?"
