Less than an hour later, Melvin was back aboard the Dreamer’s Rift.

The starship was already climbing through the atmosphere of the Hub of Knowledge, pale clouds drifting past the main viewport as open sky stretched above and the oceanic world with its scattered islands shrank beneath the hull.

For a while, he stood at the glass with one hand resting against the frame, taking in one last lingering view of the place Lord Dream had built for the pursuit of knowledge.

"He’s truly... insane," he muttered before turning away from the window, crossing the vast chamber in silence.

His white robes swayed gently with every step, the long strands of his black hair brushing against his back.

As he reached the center of the open space, he sank as if to sit on nothing at all.

But as he descended, a throne of black ice emerged, forming beneath and around him.

Settling into its cold embrace, he turned his gaze once more toward the window, to the thinning sky and the first fragile edge of the void.

"We are headed to," he said, "the world of Loreua, within the Orin Star System."

"As you command, Young Melvin," a female voice resonated through the ship in a calm, steady tone.

"The destination is confirmed, and the teleportation jump will last four months."

Melvin nodded at the familiar voice as the Dreamer’s Rift locked in its course.

The black-and-white hull shimmered and faded from perception, and above the Hub of Knowledge, the starship was suddenly gone, leaving nothing but the quiet void in its wake.

"He’s... dead?" Princess Milan muttered, her voice tinged with disbelief.

She was already stepping out of the auction house where Amber and Akasha had once claimed the egg that would become Sage, the bitter news of her brother’s demise clinging to her like an unpleasant taste she couldn’t shake.

With the aid of Divinity, it hadn’t taken her long to discover the last place Matt had been alive, and cloaked by Amber’s power over black, she moved unseen, free to watch his final moments replayed before her in a projection.

And yet, if someone had asked her in this moment whether she felt sorrow or grief over her older brother’s death, she would have answered with a firm, unapologetic no.

Distraught wasn’t the right word for it...

It was more like disappointment... mixed with a sharp wave of irritation.

"Tsk... useless!" she spat, shaking her head in frustration.

"Men are always so damn useless!"

She couldn’t wrap her head around how Matt could have been foolish enough to die within the safety of his own Empire.

But it wasn’t just that fueling her irritation.

"And... I can’t believe that bitch and her little boyfriend were behind this," she muttered, recalling the heated exchange between Akasha and Matt.

She couldn’t say for certain that Akasha had killed him—after all, in the projection she’d seen, it was as if some ghostly presence had been the one to strike him down.

That was, until she pieced it together with the memories she’d inherited from Amber.

And that realization only deepened her annoyance.

How could a prince fall at the hands of her own specimen?

Even still, as annoyed as she was in that moment, she didn’t think about going back to the unconscious Amber.

Instead, she lifted off from the street, soared through Loreua’s atmosphere, and broke into the void beyond.

In an instant, the vast emptiness of the Orin Star System stretched out before her.

"What... is this?" she murmured, raising a curious brow. "Since when did the worlds of Orin start orbiting... a mountain?"

From up here, the Orin Star System looked nothing like the familiar pattern she once knew.

She could not resolve every world in clean detail. Yet, she saw enough: distant lights held in slow order around a massive, unassuming mountain that occupied the center as if it had always been the system’s origin point.

The frustration that had carried her off Loreua began to cool into something more useful.

"Alright... since Matt’s dead," she muttered, "looks like things will need a bit of changing..."

From that moment on, she knew everything rested on her shoulders.

Now, the world of Kalpa didn’t seem worth it anymore.

She now realized that the true treasure was the Mountain—more accurately, Dream Land.

So, she shifted course and flew toward the Mountain in the void—for Dream Land—while quietly wrestling with the more pressing problem of her own identity.

She moved in Amber’s body, but her own thoughts and instincts were still present, and it was obvious that the beings on that Mountain were far from ordinary.

Amber’s own memories drove that truth home with a sharp edge. If any of them probed too deeply, everything would be over before it had a chance to start truly.

"How much to ensure no one could read into the existence of Milan... only until the year’s end?" She questioned as her status menu appeared.

Seeing the price and the rank once more, her face drained of color.

"By my authority..." she muttered under her breath, resisting the urge to curse Akasha, Luna, and Yume in that moment.

The cost was far too steep—not only for Milan, but even for Amber’s own divinity pool—forcing her to reconsider.

She began adjusting her words, tweaking the configurations bit by bit until she finally stumbled upon a construct that could work.

In the end, she had no choice but to settle for a five-month duration and a god-ranked construct, priced at two hundred and ten thousand Divinity.

The moment she acquired the construct, it settled into her like a door softly closing on a room.

One by one, her mannerisms, private quirks, and the sharp trace of Milan faded behind the construct, until for any glance, there was only Amber Salvatore—nothing more.

Only then did she summon the Dream Land token, set it between her fingers, and crack it.

A portal suddenly appeared, whisking her away from the void and dropping her right into Dream Land.
