Chapter 129: The Conquest of The South
An entire three years had passed since Akasha found himself within the cocoon of pure potential on Lucid Winter’s Peak, and the evolution still showed no sign of completion.
During that long stretch of time, Luna and Yume remained on the Topside, overseeing the quiet expansion of influence that had become Phase Two’s final stages.
They sat now in the Planning and War Room of the Academy of Veils, the wide crystal windows overlooking the southern reaches of the continent.
The soft light from the seven suns filtered through the glass, casting long shadows across the polished stone table.
Harlan Steele stood at the far end, arms folded, his calm and calculating gaze fixed on the tactical map that floated above the center of the room.
Luna leaned back in her chair, pink-and-purple hair spilling over one shoulder as she watched the millions of Academy soldiers advancing across the final stretch of contested land.
A faint, almost amused smile touched her lips.
"Well, I don’t know if I should find it surprising," she said, voice light yet carrying genuine observation.
"Three years, and the Academy is already ahead of the schedule we set. I must say, that’s impressive."
Though Akasha had given them a full five years to have the Southern Continent conquered, in just two years before such deadline, every major faction had been conquered or erased... leaving only a Dark Human Clan.
Yume sat beside her, calm and composed, her blue-streaked hair drifting slightly as she studied the same map.
"Right... none of this would be possible without Master’s grace," she said with a chuckle, unsurprised at how quickly things had progressed.
Though the Academy of Veils wasn’t part of the Dreamer’s Peak, they still enjoyed a subtle boost from the domain—something no other being in the world had access to at this stage.
Over time, the Domain, or perhaps a certain ever-watchful woman, allowed the barrier’s minor effects to extend to anyone who had already spent ample time within the original barrier.
Once Akasha’s evolution was complete, he would finally be free to adjust as he wished.
Harlan gave a single nod, his expression unreadable.
"Mistress Yume, you are not wrong. We are eternally grateful for Lord Dream." He said as his eyes moved around the map.
"This has been less of a conquest... and more of a statement. It’s like we’re essentially fighting without consequence."
The idea of fighting while being almost instantly healed was something none of them could have imagined possible.
On top of that, there wasn’t a single faction on the Southern Continent capable of challenging the Academy of Veils, simply because all the Kings and Queens had long since died.
This left most factions in the control of corrupt officials, pampered young royals, and even their decaying ancestors, still desperately clinging to the last fragile threads of life they could grasp.
And with Harlan using his Logic and Calculation affinities... there was little deliberation.
Luna’s smile widened a fraction as her eyes settled on a particular marker near the front of the advancing forces.
"Fufufu~ Yume... You have to give them some credit at least. Take that Amber, for example... She has taken more critical strongholds than any other single commander."
Yume’s quieter voice held a note of quiet approval.
"Okay... I admit a few of them are pretty impressive." She said, "Still, they shouldn’t forget why this is possible."
Outside the crystal windows, the map updated in real time.
Millions of Academy soldiers moved in disciplined formations toward the final Dark Human stronghold, banners of the Academy of Veils catching the wind as the last pocket of resistance came into view.
Harlan Steele stepped closer to the tactical projection and raised a small communication badge to his lips.
HUMM!!!
"Amber," he said, voice calm and precise.
On the distant front lines, Amber’s voice answered through the badge, clear and steady amid the low roar of advancing forces.
[Logic Affinity]
[Calculation Affinity]
Harlan’s eyes narrowed slightly as he activated two Affinities in tandem, streams of pure analytical force weaving through his thoughts.
In the span of a few heartbeats, he mapped every defensive formation, every residual darkness point, and every possible point of collapse within the Dark Human clan’s final stronghold.
A thin smile touched his lips.
"Like always... They have two choices," he said into the badge. "Bend the knee... or die. There is no third option."
He continued without pause, the calculated path already settled.
"Their strength is anchored in their connection to darkness. Sever that connection, Amber, and the entire clan will be effectively weakened. Once it is cut, the rest will fall quickly."
-----
Amber stood at the forefront of the Academy’s final advance, long brown hair stirring in the wind, her expression focused and coldly determined.
She raised the communication badge to her lips one last time.
"Understood, Headmaster."
Instantly, the connection cut off, and Amber lowered her badge and glanced at the Peak Masters surrounding her, a sharp, confident smile tugging at her lips.
"Ugh, let’s finally end this..."
With her next breath, she unleashed one of her innate powers.
[Hue Dominion (Primordial)]
HUMMMM!!!!!
In that moment, a vast golden hue bloomed outward from her position, expanding in a smooth, unstoppable wave that covered ten thousand kilometers in every direction.
When Akasha first noticed Amber Salvatore, she was only at the start of the God King stage.
Now, she had risen to the peak of Star Union as the Constellation of Changing Hues.
In that instant, her innate power came to life.
Within its range, every strand of darkness tying the Dark Human clan to its source was cut away—cleanly severed, as though the very idea had been wiped from existence.
Before the Dark Humans could even register the loss, Amber moved again.
HUMMMMM!!!!!
Although the Academy of Veils had once been weak....
They remained rulers, and like every faction, they possessed their share of artifacts.
Just as it had been for the past three years, an Origin-ranked array glyph formed in the air before her and sank into the surrounding space.
The moment it locked into place, her Divine Sense exploded outward five thousand times over, sweeping across fifty million kilometers—nearly the entire remaining territory of the clan.
She looked back at the gathered Peak Masters and the endless ranks behind them, the golden hue still shimmering faintly around her.
"Alright... You’re clear to move," she said, voice carrying easily across the front lines. "As long as you stay within my domain, everything will proceed without a hitch."
Marcus let out a low, rough laugh, the sound edged with anticipation.
"Haha, since this is the Academy’s final array activation... we should make it a good one."
And... no further words were needed.
HUMMMM!!!!
Amber took the first step, and Marcus, along with the other Peak Masters, moved in unison right behind her, the immense tide of Academy soldiers flowing after them in precise, unbroken waves.
All eyes were locked on a single target—the very core of the Dark Human clan, where the only true importance lay.
----
Deep within the central stronghold, the Prince of the Dark Humans stood in the main hall, surrounded by the remaining Elders.
And... their voices rose and overlapped in a chaotic storm of conflicting advice.
"We still have the ancestral formations—we can fight!"
"Fight? We’ve seen how they’ve dominated the entire continent! We should flee while there is still time!"
"Fleeing is cowardice! Better to die with pride than kneel to these Academy dogs!"
"There must be another way—some hidden artifact, some last—"
Through it all, the Prince remained silent.
His dark eyes were fixed on the distant horizon visible through the high windows of the hall.
He watched as Amber and the endless ranks of the Academy of Veils advanced, the golden hue of her dominion rolling ahead of them like an unstoppable tide.
With every kilometer they closed, the clan’s connection to darkness thinned further, until at last it vanished completely.
And then, in an instant, a wave of pure fear rippled through the Elders as the last strand of their power snapped. A few stumbled, their faces paling to a ghostly white.
When Amber and the leading Peak Masters finally appeared at the gates of the stronghold, the Prince stepped forward without a word.
He walked past the stunned Elders, past the silent guards, and out into the open courtyard.
There, in full view of the millions of Academy soldiers, he lowered himself to one knee and bowed his head.
"I, Prince of the Dark Humans, pledge fealty to the Academy of Veils and to the Southern Continent under its rule."
Amber’s brown eyes widened for a fraction of a second. Then a bright, relieved laugh escaped her. She dusted her hands together as if finishing a particularly tedious chore.
"Oh, how smart of you," she said, voice carrying easily across the courtyard, "Now, that’s a job well done."
Marcus stepped forward with a low grunt, already shifting into practical command.
"Tsk... I was looking for another fight." He said before continuing.
"The relocation of the Dark Humans will commence immediately. Within one week, the entire land will be moved to the civilization pit of the Academy."
