Chapter 312: Qianxi
Chapter 312: Chapter 309: Qianxi
Sensing something was wrong, Qianxi’s heart sank. This kid’s abilities were simply impossible to defend against.
And this was only the beginning. The pain washed over her in wave after relentless wave, so intense that Qianxi nearly passed out.
“You disgusting…” Qianxi cursed. Fortunately, she had a contingency for this kind of situation.
Qianxi always had a backup plan, no matter the situation.
She tremblingly pulled a very special, semi-transparent device from her pocket. A fine, golden thread seemed to be suspended within it.
The moment Qianxi pressed it firmly against her arm, she vanished. Zhang Wenda, who was inside her Spiritual World, disappeared along with her.
Inside Qianxi’s Spiritual World, Zhang Wenda suddenly realized something was wrong. Her chaotic Spiritual World simply vanished, and his surroundings were once again enveloped in a golden light.
He quickly scanned his surroundings and found himself in a field of ruins bathed in golden light—a field of ruins floating in mid-air.
Seeing that his body was in a zero-gravity state, Zhang Wenda instantly understood. His realization solidified when Qianxi found him, accompanied by several Westerners with green scales and brown, vertical pupils.
Zhang Wenda looked up at the Golden Ball, which was now almost within arm’s reach. This was the origin point of everything. The entire 13th Tide of Thought had begun its collapse from here.
Here, anything that defied logic ceased to exist, including a mobile Inner World.
‘It seems that to get rid of me, Qianxi actually brought us both back to this place, forcefully dragging me out.’
Qianxi seemed to be losing control. She shook her head violently, glaring viciously at Zhang Wenda.
Whether it was due to Zhang Wenda’s attack or not, she seemed mentally unstable. Her entire screen-face began to crack, and a long tongue dripped with saliva emerged from within.
She tried to summon the arrow to reformat herself, but here, none of her abilities worked. Even Zhang Wenda’s other three colored selves had vanished.
Feeling the excruciating pain in her head, she threw down the arrow and glared fiercely at Zhang Wenda. “Since you want a less-than-pleasant death, I’ll grant your wish!”
‘Even though I’m in a terrible state right now, it’s all over. With these Nazi Lizard People, no matter how strong this kid is, he’s no match for them.’
With that, she barked an order at the Lizard People beside her. “Seize him! Cut off his limbs and gouge out his eyes!”
The Lizard People stared coldly at Qianxi. “Show some respect. We are not your subordinates. You are merely our agent.”
Zhang Wenda watched her, grinding his teeth in hatred. ‘To get revenge on the Third Line, this woman actually stooped to collaborating with foreign enemies. They probably brought about 1999, too.’
Now, everything that had happened before was gradually becoming clear.
Despite their impolite tone with Qianxi, the dozens of Lizard People began to close in on Zhang Wenda. Their slender tails whipped back and forth, making them far more agile than him in the zero-gravity environment.
Watching Zhang Wenda being surrounded, Qianxi’s cracked screen-face flapped as she spoke, “I told you, a loss is a loss. Save your useless words!”
Zhang Wenda remained silent, his gaze fixed on Qianxi in the distance, as if waiting for something.
At first, Qianxi was still smiling. But gradually, the smile vanished, replaced by a look of terror. She pressed her hands forcefully against her head, not stopping even when her screen-face cracked and shattered under the pressure.
“Damn it! Why is this happening!?” Qianxi’s voice was on the verge of breaking. Her usual calm composure was gone.
Suddenly, she snapped her head up, staring at Zhang Wenda in disbelief. “You… what in the world did you do in my Spiritual World?!”
Though he was now completely surrounded by enemies, Zhang Wenda showed no sign of panic. He simply looked at the spiraling Qianxi and shook his head.
“I didn’t do anything. I just noticed after I went in that you have a scar, just like me. But you never pulled yours out. It’s just been sitting there.”
“I was curious how you became 03 without removing that scar. So, I helped you out by pushing it in a little deeper. I wanted to see how you’d react.”
The moment Zhang Wenda finished speaking, Qianxi curled into a ball in agony. Her body trembled violently, and her voice grew frantic as the scar piercing her entire New Cortex Layer pulsed with torment.
“I’m not wrong! I’m not wrong! Why am I always the one who’s wrong? You old bastard! This time, I’ll prove I was right!”
“I won’t! I have my own life!”
Zhang Wenda looked at her as if he were looking at a past version of himself. ‘If I hadn’t found Blue,’ he thought, ‘I might have ended up just like her.’
He suddenly understood. Even though Qianxi had her own Tide of Thought, and even though she was so powerful, she had never passed the initial trial of Blue.
Suddenly, a moment of clarity returned. She looked desperately at the Lizard People. “Help me! Help me! You must have a way!”
However, the Lizard People just stared at her with indifference, showing no intention of helping whatsoever. Zhang Wenda instantly caught this detail.
In that exact instant, Zhang Wenda seized his chance. He kicked off a piece of floating debris to his left with his right foot, launching himself rapidly toward Qianxi.
Just as Zhang Wenda suspected, the Lizard People had a clear opportunity to intercept him, yet they showed no intention of saving their “ally.”
In other words, their relationship had been one of mutual exploitation from the very beginning.
As they rapidly closed the distance, Qianxi tried to dodge, but the flood of emotions overwhelming her mind made it impossible to rationally control her body.
The moment they slammed into each other, the scythe in Zhang Wenda’s hand plunged deep into Qianxi’s body, just like the beak that had once pierced his uncle.
As Zhang Wenda slowly dragged the scythe upward, torrents of blood sprayed from Qianxi’s cracked screen. Behind the shattered display was the face of a woman in agony.
“I won’t die! I prepared so many contingencies… I already beat him… I already won!” She desperately grabbed the scythe with both hands, but the only result was severing all of her fingers.
Beneath the Golden Ball, every single one of her contingencies was rendered useless.
“This is impossible… How could I lose to someone like…”
The sensation of death crept closer. In that moment, her former composure vanished completely as her consciousness began to fade. At the very end, she seemed to see something. Tears streamed from her eyes, and her voice was filled with the pain of a wronged child.
“Dad! It hurts… it hurts so much… Dad, I’ll never do it again… Dad… I was wrong…”
